Beautiful day! Very nice park! Can walk/bike/roller skate or run! The central pond has several fishing piers extended into the water! The pavilion is situated next to a playground so the kiddos can play while families cook and hang by the fireplace! A great place for graduation party, baby shower or family reunion! This cooperative between the City of Mentor and the Lake Metroparks is another wonderful reason that its Better in Mentor.

Me and my husband loved it. It is the perfect spot to recharge our energy. The silence is amazing and people with the same goal in mind went for a walk like we did. Everyone was polite and kept their distance.

Beautiful park! Some of the trails end up on a street or in peoples back yard. Would be nice if they had a loop. There were people fishing in the beautiful pond.

Great place for fishing, walking, biking, dog walking, having a picnic or just plain relaxing!Lots of park benches throughout the park, paved walkways, plenty of parking, park is well kept up with virtually no litter. Free water safety vests available needed. Nice size playground with swings. Doggy do-do bag stations conveniently located, just in case u forget your bags. Definitely will be going back!

Pretty large space with a ton of path to walk! Had a picnic here, walked around the pond, and out onto a dock! Cute place, lots of families!

Have always enjoyed this park since childhood. I wish there were some rangers or something around to protect this nesting turtle though; she was harassed by several park goers with fishing poles and dogs. She had to abandon her nest. Hopefully she was able to find a quieter place to nest without being disturbed. Park was clean otherwise, even while packed on a Saturday morning.

Great trails, there are two that have a dead end and you must turn aroundThe other two are nice too but one of them get SUPER close to people backyards. Otherwise this park is nice and clean and i used to love fishing here !

Awesome,Very Clean,Family Oriented,Beautiful place! Nice paved trails for walking, running,biking,and fishing. Decent fishing for all ages. Stocked with, largemouth bass, catfish, trout,and bluegill. Best times to fish it with kids is in the spring and fall after the yearly stockings have occurred. Park Rangers frequent the area and patrol regularly, are very informative, polite, friendly, knowledgeable of the area and regulations. Also Mentor police frequently patrol the area (hats off to the law inforcement in the area!) which provides a very safe environment for families and individuals alike. I would definitely recommend this place if you just love being outdoors walking around, single or with family. If you like places that arent overly congested and crowded with people. ( certain times are busy here though) If you want your kids to catch something, anything at all for sure this is the place. lol There us a fireplace under the pavilions for all to enjoy when not rented out. Free wood to use in that facility only. (NO YOU DONT GET FREE WOOD TO TAKE HOME OR CAMPING)AWESOME PLACE TO RELAX AND ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS IN THE FALL!

A hidden gem in Mentor and very beautiful scenery. I felt like I was somewhere exotic! We saw many species of birds and other wildlife there. They had a walking trail in the woods, shelters for gatherings, pic nic tables, a playground, and docks for fishing. Its also dog friendly and doesnt close til 11. Me and my husband are thinking about Kayaking here soon. There arent any official launch areas, but there were some areas that could be used at a receding shoreline.

Love this park! Lots of nooks and crannies, and the paths take you many different directions. The view of the water is beautiful.

Its really nice, very calm. theres all ways fresh wood for the fire pit its not a super magical place but the workers keep the park very tidy. Playground, fishing pond, cranes come right up to you in the summer time. Great for jogging the entire trail is within earshot but not eyesight of at least one house and Im pretty sure there are some mint leaves around if you know where to look they make great tea.

Great place for family time. The fishing is great here as well.

I visit this park often to walk my dog. It is a clean, inviting, and friendly park that allows me and my dog to get exercise while enjoying the outside. I know that they stock the park with fish at least once per year and it gets busy with many people showing up to enjoy fishing during that time. The outdoor pavilion with the fireplace is also a great feature. Many people use that for parties and or just to relax and enjoy.

Clean park.. calm relaxing. Lake has really nice fish in it. In the summer highly recommend bringing the kids and some fishing Poles.

Love to take the kids fishing here. It’s clean and inviting and the people you come into contact with are always amazing too! If you have a chance grab your license and head on down to catch a small rainbow trout to feed to the wild blue herons who hang out with you on the docks :)

ALWAYS a place to take the family and guaranteed to always have a great time. Always a clean Park and lots of parking. The playground is very nice for the children. They stock the pond so always good fishing especially for the kids catching bluegill. The docks going out to the water are very sturdy and always kept up and garbage cans are always emptied so its a good clean Park.

Great place to fish with kids any age. Bring some garden worms, very small hooks, and a small bobber. You will catch some sort of sunfish all season long feet from the shore or right next to a dock. Theres even some crazy large red crayfish who routinely hang out right along the edge of the lake. A guaranteed place to have some sort of fun with the kids all year long no matter their age.

We had a really nice time. The park is very clean and everything looked well maintained. My 10yr old caught a lot of sun fish and my old man caught a nice size bass. We threw it back of course.

A really quality park - friendly dogs to visit, huge lake with fishing, they even provide life vests for free, huge playground for kids, long and short trails and paths. Top notch. My dog says it is one of his favorites.

Real pleasure. Great scenery. Beautiful lakes. Fish, turtles, geese. Nice picnic area. Wonderful playground. We all had a great time. Four of our party caught their first fishes.

It was well taken care of lots of places to set up a picnick or cooking out! There were paths going all around the pond and places to sit and go fishing also! It is a very nice park and i would go back again!

Amazing park. Recommend the fishing you wont regret it. Youll have a guaranteed catch on a good day. Use hotdogs (catfish,bass, bluegill) minnows (bass,perch,maybe trout) great place to walk around also. Really Recommend for a day of relaxing.

The pond was stocked three days before i got there but the fish did not bite.

Great park! Nice trails varying from paved to raised wood to dirt/gravel. The latter areas can be muddy. Playground and fishing available. Very nice open air shelter with fireplace. It is usually stocked with wood and a fire is going like tonight. Dog friendly too!

Fun but fishing is hit or miss and fish are all teeny tiny little bluegill. Take small hooks.

This park has both paved and unpaved paths. I love taking my dogs on the wooded paths, its usually not crowded. Usually spend about 45 minutes walking the park

Nice paths around Granger Pond as well as an overlook deck. There are also paths in the woods with boardwalks for muckier areas. Great year round park. Excellent bird watching location.

This park is always really well taken care of. It has a lovely view and even has a overlook onto the pond. There are several short trails that are perfect for casual walks. I recommend making a fire in the fire place and having some cocoa next to it in the winter.

Walk my dog here several times a week. The park is very well maintained and very clean. They even keep a small fire going in the pavilion so you can warm up after a walk around the pond on a cold day.

This park is wonderful its open until 11 pm and there is a fireplace that I swear is going at all times in the pavilion. They supply the wood for it always and there is rangers that come around and check things out that are just so nice.

My Grandson brought me here to fish when I came up from Carroll county Ohio to visit. Ive been here several times over the last few years and I have never found this park to be in disarray. The lake is populated with a nice healthy variety of fish . We practice Catch And Release everywhere we fish .You folks have a really nice park. While there, everyone Ive met and talked with enjoys this park. There are many areas to picnic and clear trails to walk through the woods . Plenty of space for families to spend the day. I have not been in the restrooms but would be very surprised to learn that the facilities arent clean and orderly .We are always happy to visit this park. Veterans is a nice little park it has a bunch of piers and a lake. You do need a fishing license to fish.

Nice trails and a playground for the kiddos. Fishing with license only. The only real downfall is that it gets pretty crowded.
