My little man loved it. You can feed the fish, turtles and ducks, you can see different bugs, snakes, birds all in a well maintained center, that provides lots of information how all these are part of the ecosystem. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children.

Beautiful and will keep wildlife preserve. The staff was an freshly and knowledgeable. There were so many beautiful trails and areas to explore. There were also stuffed examples of most of the wildlife in the area to view and be taught about. They also actually sold plants. Its a must see for nature lovers!

Beautiful venue for a wedding reception! Never visited before Saturday night but will make plans with my son to remedy that. Pavilion was the perfect setting.

I love walking here. Theres a nice path that goes around and across the lake, and several paths that go through the woods. Go there in midsummer to see the lotus flowers blooming. Theyre beautiful!

We had as blast!! It was part of our free summer pass at pink palace. The kids had a great time feeding the fish and ducks for a dollar a bag of fish food. We were able to bring our packed lunches and eat in the cool air. The trails are fun, but some are a little too overgrown to walk through. We saw a snake crossing over from one pond to the other. The scenery is breathtaking. Well definitely come back for picnic time again

I just love it here. The exhibits are good and there are plenty of trails for short hikes.

Lichterman Nature Center, much more than just beautiful nature. June 2, 2018...we rented the entire green room for a baby shower. I booked this facility over 4 months ago. Pattie is the best. We sat and picked out the best date, she guided me through everything needed to make it happen. She would call and email when something was need and for friendly reminders. The table plans we drew up was laid out exactly as we had set it up. The plans included another childrens table kids activities to keep them busy, and their own food table. Our room was clean and the AC had our guest comfortable. Even though the Crepe Maker had 2 skillets going at the same time. Nor did our ice cream stand from Ben and Jerrys do any melting. The kitchen although we didnt utilize it) was clean spacious and well equipped. We had 79 registered guests attending. The bathrooms was clean and paper goods stocked. The children loved exploring the exhibits and venturing out on the grounds with an adult supervisor leading them on the trails. So much nature to explore. Would be also a first choice for children’s outing, summer camp trip, etc...Over all I am very happy I selected this venue for our event. We will choose this facility to have our next event again. One day soon!!!!

There’s surprisingly a lot to do for the $5 fee. Very beautiful there a real hidden gem.

We had my daughters 6th birthday party here. It was a fantastic experience in every way. They had no electricity due to a storm the night before and gave me the option to cancel or reschedule, but we still had the party and they made it an awesome time by letting us pet an extra animal, switching to a room with more windows, and just being great in every way. Highly recommend.

Joyce is fantastic and super friendly! My son had a field trip here on a ridiculously cold day and the staff did the best they could...looking forward to visiting on a warmer day when we can enjoy the grounds. Beautiful facility!

Memphiss great Nature Park. We toured the greenhouse with a terrific guide from managment. Lots paved trails to walk, including around a lake. Cant wait to go back when spring flowers are in bloom!

There are many interactive items for kids & adults. The walking trails are nice.We saw a snake on the walking path sunning itself! The kids made enough racket to startle it away.There arent any concessions or a gift shop. You may bring a picnic lunch for your group, or book a birthday party/event!

There are several small gardens through out, a wonderful building with exhibits on wildlife staffed by knowledgeable people who care for the animals and the plants in the butterfly garden. Plenty of free parking, picnic tables, places to hold weddings, reunions, etc. Its pretty dry looking in late August, but beautiful other times of year.

We stopped in for the afternoon and took a walk around the property. the trails around the nature center offer beautiful scenery even in the middle of winter. a good place to see some native wildlife close to memphis! the indoor displays are very informative and educational. great place for all ages!

NATURE, LEARNING, & COMMUNITY: I had the pleasure of working half a day with Beth (the coordinator for the Trail Blazing Event) and a group of young male volunteers who were a part of a leadership and development mentoring program. There was approximately 10 - 13 in attendance and we spent the day clearing debris, leaves and branches off of the nature centers trails. This was more than an exercise in community service since during the break their sponsoring mentor talked to them about commitment, follow-through, and the impact of ones actions in life. We also had the opportunity to visit the wildlife center where I met a happy little guy exploring the centers tortoise enclosure. They had a rather large snapper who was totally oblivious to the babys chatter at the window as he laid dug in at the bottom of the tank. Of importance is the fact that this was a donated center from the Lichterman Family and it runs on private funding donations so it is not a state run institution. The center has a small staff but is supplemented by the efforts of volunteers who commit to assisting with special events to recurring scheduled time commitments. I met and talked to two young people that volunteer on a regular basis to assist with the wildlife program. One of whos mother explained the age at which young people could start volunteering and the progressive levels of responsibilities they acquire over time. What was most interesting about this conversation was the fact that she saw having her daughter volunteer as an avenue for her to discover whether she had interests in a related field - novel idea, no but a mother capitalizing on her childs interests and allowing her to explore them while learning lifes lessons. This was a great day of hard work and engaging with a group of young people striving to do - be better than the norm and be a part of our great community interest.

Very beautiful place and nice staff.Lab associate showed us an owl hitting by a car. Fortunately, they saved the little owls life, even though he cannot see clearly. Thanks for taking care of the little wounded animal and protecting our nature!

Took a 3-yr-old to see their Backyard Wildlife Center. She had a great time seeing both their live creatures & the mounted examples. Wanted to stay & see more, but they close so early. Its hard to go with little kids when they need to nap & the Center closes at 3 most days during the week.

Beautiful! We are having my sister baby shower here and the space is absolutely gorgeous! The staff is very helpful. I have also taken walks here when its not hot and the scenery is breathtaking.

This is one of my favorite places to visit for a good walk. The views around the lakes/ponds are fantastic. An awesome place to enjoy a day out just strolling around taking in the blue sky and scenic views.

So we used to love coming to lichterman but we will not be back. The last 2 times we went Were not good when trying to check in. A couple weeks ago we came on a Friday at 2:58 my husband said 2 adults and 2 kids and the receptionists reply was o, well we close in an hour and I already shut my computer down. So i said you have an hour left of work and shut your computer down, she then told us to just go ahead and go in. We have the summer membership so we didnt need to pay but still. So then we tried going this last Friday and it was right at 3 walking in and there is other families in the parking lot about to come in also (pink palace power was out this day and we had just seen them at the pink palace) the normal women was not up front so someone else who worked there had to come try and check us in and before she did that we showed her the membership card and she says we close in an hour we have different hours than the pink palace my husband said yes I know, she said yea so we close at 4....so once again my husband said yes I know you close at 4 i know your hours. I get off at 2 on Fridays on the random occasion we want to go somewhere, lichterman will never be that place again. Very rude. You dont close for another HOUR.

Informative. Crazy peaceful

Clean picnic tables. Ticks. A very nice lady working the backyard area (they feed critters at lunch if you want to watch). But nothing inspiring. Some of the tracks are too rough for a normal stroller... Youll regret bringing one, because sometimes they dead end into gravel. You either press on and hope for the best or turn around and walk a mile back. The welcome center with the stuffed critters is nice.
