This place was a surprise. Im not sure what I expected, but I was moved by the site (and sight). I recommend traveling to this place at night, as the I am a Man Memorial really calls for it to be read at night. Almost missed it, but glad I didnt. Dont miss this place.

Had a great time at the food truck festival. It was a great time to taste and try out different foods. The fun factor was turned up to 10 when the band performance kicked off. Was there from 9 am to 2pm. Started getting crowded when the Chruch crowd showed up. Regardless it was it was a great experience.

Definitely a must-see if youre into the history of Memphis and the American civil rights movement. Many important events and causes started here, included the making of the I am a man signs. The building is being restored, so itll be interesting to see it now and then see it again in a few years.

This place has a really cool history: Dr. King preached her many times, he led his last March from this church before his death, and the sanitation workers that brought Dr. King to Memphis met here.

A church with a long history, event before it became an iconic location of the Civil Rights Movement. MLK preached here during the garbage worker strike of 1968. The building has suffered decades of neglect, but there seems to be some interest in restoration. We can only hope this beautiful building can be saved.
