Kings island is the best. Orion was amazing. So smooth. Unreal drop super fun ride. It makes all of the other rides seem like kid rides.

The Beast is my personal favorite wooden coaster. Beast isnt for everyone, but it certainly IS for me. Without much airtime or even elements to speak of, Beast isnt really about the forces it exerts on you. Its more about the wild, high speed journey through the woods. The first drop goes into a tunnel, and the second drop goes into a ravine and deeper into the forest. After that, you slow down before a long dark tunnel, and when you emerge youre going much faster. You dont realize youre going slightly downhill, so the acceleration as you race through the trees is unexpected and exhilarating. The best moment happens when you tilt steeper downhill and race to the fastest moment of the ride before turning back up at the last second. This part of the ride isnt forceful, but it is fast, scenic, exhilarating, a bit rough, and maybe even scary. The speed comes from nowhere and you have no clue where you are.This ride is so huge that it needs a second lift hill to pull you out of the ravine and out of the forest, but once youre out you face one of the best finales to any coaster: Beasts double helix, half enclosed and have in the open. You race towards it from a slight incline and pick up speed scarily in the same way you did in the woods, and the tunnel looks way too small. When you go into the tunnel you immediately hard bank left and get awesome lateral and positive g forces. You emerge and the forces let up until you turn back around and shoot right back into the tunnel, this time even smaller as youre under the track section you were just on. You emerge and slowly pull into the final brake run with barely any speed left and the ride ends.This should go without saying but you should absolutely ride this in the front, at night, or both.Beast is incredibly long, and is the ultimate terrain forest coaster, and its absolutely deserving of its reputation as a beloved classic. Its absolutely the star attraction of Kings Island. No matter how much modern standards for thrills change, Beast should stay around, as there are no roller coasters in the world with its kind of thrill, and very few come close. Beast is one of a kind and it should stay that way.

Have you love a good old wood roller coaster.I swear they slowed it down in a few spots. But id rather not fly off the track. 30+ years of riding fun for me.

A4 minute long wooden coaster with 2 lift hills. This thing is rough but well worth it. The lines move quick when they are running 3 trains.The beast is a terrain coaster that disappeared into the woods. Lots of tunnels and surprises. A must ride coaster for the park.

I only ride in the front row now. Time has not been kind to this classic wooden coaster. Cedar Fair and KI need to improve the ride comfort while maintaining the overall integrity that makes this ride great.

That was the most amazing wooden coaster Ive been on in my life!! It was awesome, the airtime, the helix turns, the drop, the tunnels! I totally understand why the world record holder for rides choose it as his favorite! I want to ride it at night too! The Beast is a must ride!

The customer service and overall quality of this park has gone downhill. We got stuck on The Beast for an hour. We had to walk down from the second highest point of the ride. The only response from the staff was to give us a bottle of water and a one time, for one ride speed pass that was presented as an all day pass, all ride speed pass. We went to the front office and asked for the all day speed pass or a refund and was turned down. The new owners need to know and need to change their image and look into to better maintenance and management.

Its not the biggest and the baddest anymore but its definitely in a class of its own. Ive never ridden any other coaster like The Beast. It will forever be in my personal top 10 versus all coasters.

Everything you would expect for a coaster over 40 years old and still the worlds longest woody. One of those things that get better with age.

Kings Island, an amazing, unbelievably impressive set of rollercoasters. I couldnt recommend it enough. Although, the beast is a wooden rollercoaster, which, in turn makes it bumpy and all over the place. There is a divider between you and the other person and it feels like theyve put concrete there. I was on it with my little brother and he was small so when he went to talk to me and we hit a turn he hit his face on the divider and almost got a black eye. I gave it three stars because its a short wait and a good sight when you look around at all the plants that over encumber you with a feeling of security while also being drown out by your ribs being broken from the ride.

Its an oldy, but a goody. A classic wooden coaster that ranks as my favorite of them all! Night rides are a must if you get the chance. It is an older woody so yes its on the rough side, but its a coaster experience unlike any other!

Great at night, knowing the fact that this was built by kings Island over 40 years ago,makes it feel like a back yard coaster. A bit rough though.

Its a rough one but it is extremely legendary the drop is fantastic the second drop is the best part of the ride and the night ride omgg you cannot see any of the track at night you feel like your flying but you dont know what direction your flying in the BEST wooden coaster at kings island!

This coaster is hard to describe. Its long and fast with very few hills, many straightaways and a few brakes placed along the track. You cant see much of it from the park, so its kind of a mystery until you ride it. But man oh man that last part of the ride, The Beasts Layer. Never been on something like that in my life. So thrilling.

In its prime, one of the best coasters ever and my personal favorite. Its become quite a bit rougher in its recent years to the point where Ill probably retire from it. I also would not recommend it for small kids or anyone who cant tolerate a pretty rough ride. But if youre down for a teeth-gritting, neck-yanking, 4 minute + thrill, you can hardly do better!

Its a classic. Im really glad that I have this piece of American history near my home for me and my kids to experience. I may be getting a bit too old for it though, it really beats me up now! Not a smooth ride to be sure.

My absolute favorite roller-coaster at kings island. It is long and thrilling. It is on the rough side though.Mystic Timbers is definitely more exciting and has more action, but the grit and nostalgia of The Beast keeps me coming back.

Super scared to ride it the first time but- oh my gosh- was it worth it! Now I make sure to ride it as many times as possible ranking high on my favorite King’s Island coasters! Sure, you can say it’s rough and bumpy but that’s the fun of it! It’s not too jerky like Racer, but it’s not as smooth as Diamondback. The length is also amazing too! I love how long the ride is. Just when you think it’s over- bam! Another drop! If you haven’t yet, you need to ride this!

40yrs and still going strong! It might be a little rough for some, but what True Wooden Roller Coaster isnt.. Riding this Coaster at Night is the Best no matter where you sit. Your in the Woods total darkness, going through tunnels at a fast speed, along with 2 lift Hills, Keeps you on the edge of seat.. Love this Ride!

A classic old wooden coaster. Truly one of the greatest coasters ever built. The Beast truly lives up to its name. Beware of the Beast In The Woods, once in its grasps it will not let you go.

Really fun, historic ride. The ride is long at 4 minutes, and includes two fun drops. Only complaint is that it was rougher than last year, and it’s starting to show its age. If your a new rider, be ready for the sharp turn on the second drop as it may hurt your neck, but the double helix is still super fun, as is the entire ride! An absolute must if you come to Kings Island.

Still an excellent coaster, just not as thrilling as it seemed 20 years ago when I was a kid. The Beast is a classic, with the advancement in coaster technology, there are way better coasters out there. Still a favorite though!

Best night rides

The Beast. Legendary coaster. Historic coaster. It’s the longest wooden coaster in the world, and it’s a great coaster. Yes, maybe it’s a little shaky and bumpy, but the way it’s flying through the forest is awesome. Unique experience. The double helix at the end is crazy. Very shaky but stupid fast and really intense. Great!

This was my daughter’s first roller coaster, at seven years old. She took it with panache and I can’t wait to return !

Always one of my favorites. Much better at night. You can see all the lights of the park and it just really sets the ride off. By far one of the best rides in the park until the giga coaster gets here. Hopefully it will live up to the Kings island name.

Best wooden coaster ever

A real classic but was incredibly rough over Labor Day weekend 2019! You could physically feel the trim break on the first drop and at least two other spots in the ride. Last helix reminded me of the Boss at Six Flags St. Louis (not a good comparison). When I got off, I couldn’t decide on whether to get a blue ice cream or go to the Emergency Room. Maybe just a bad time of the year!

Best Coaster at Kings Island! Best ride at night!

One great wooden roller coaster was on it back in the early 80s. Went to all the local amusement parks in the area. The mills gave families a summer vacation trips. Meaning that my father worked ot lots to give us this. Thanks Dad. And my mother for putting up with us. When you had to use tickets for each ride. And go back to get more... by the end of the night we were tired...

Such a fun, exhilarating, intense experience. A Cincinnati classic for fun and terror!

Holy cow, this is arguably one of the best wooden coasters ever. Its an ACE landmark (American Coaster Enthusiasts) which means that its a big deal. It gives a fantastic ride even though it can be rough at some parts of the ride. The line moves very quickly do to the large trains.

40 years and still going strong!! Classic ride at KI and a legend amongst roller coster enthusiast. I dont believe you can call your self a true roller coaster aficionado until you have ridden the Beast. This all wooden coaster has held several World Records in its time in operation. Experience two steep drops and three tunnels that have thrilled and delighted three generations of my family.

Its the Best. Its old, a bit shaky, but its surprisingly fast! (Not to say its unsafe) I remember being scared to death by this ride as a kid and its every bit as exciting today.

Was not expecting much. But wow this was really good. Brace after second lift Hill and its more enjoyable.

Best wooden coaster I’ve rode

When it was new, The Beast broke many records by being the longest, fastest, etc wooden roller coaster in the world. The thrills it gives still hold up to this day. There are only 3 hills/ drops on the Beast. The thrills come from zooming along at top speeds through the woods, tunnels and curves. It is even more loved for its night rides. My only word of caution is try not to set on any of the wheels, but in the middle seat of each car. Its a wooden coaster running top speed and sitting directly on a wheel can some times feel like your sitting on a jackhammer. But over all it is a great ride and a classic.

10 stars out of 5! The Beast is by far the best coaster in the world. Long and super fast! Three tunnels with one at the bottom of the first hill! If you come to Kings Island and like rollercoasters then you must ride The Beast!

Will never ride again as based on what we felt this day, several of us rode this icon of a roller coaster together for the 1st time in many years, we ALL felt one side lift off the tracks (right before the place the guy was decapitated back in the 70s)......HOWEVER, Grew up here in Cincy and this has ALWAYS been THE amusement park to go to, even when Americana was still open. Most rides are really good, even when you have to wait for hours when they are packed. Food is usually very good, and the water park is exceptional.

Still the best wooden roller coaster ever!! Over 4 minutes long and very fast!! Love the way its set back in the woods. If you want a smoother ride sit towards the front. The back can throw you around a bit. Although, some folks really like that!

This was on our bucket list. I was to scared when I was little. So I gathered my courage and went. It was so much fun. Only one bad turn that tossed me about but from there awesome. Had a blast. Im riding again.

What a great ride, especially at night!

Have ridden it since 79...I love the coaster BUT the ride has gotten much rougher over the years and the cars are not exactly fluffy friendly. Riding it now hurts. New restraints and a retracking would get this classic back to where it should be...5 stars.

This is the longest wooden coaster in the world. This is one of the oldest coasters at Kings Island. Occasionally Ill go to Kings Island for a few hours, very short trips. Sometimes the lines on all the rides are so long I can only ride one or two coasters, Ill always wait in line for the beast. Its 6 minutes, and every minute is enjoyable.

This will always be one of my favorite rides. There was a long line at all when I went so thats always a plus. But this ride is so much fun. A little longer than most of the other rides in the park

Designed and built in-house by Kings Island personnel, The Beast unleashes its awesome power on the unsuspecting as it sprawls across 35 acres of wooded terrain. When The Beast first opened to the public April 14, 1979, it was acclaimed America’s ultimate roller coaster. It broke all existing records as the longest and fastest ride in the world. It is still listed in the prestigious “Guinness Book of World Records” as the longest wooden roller coaster in the world at 7,359 feet. Features of The Beast include a ride time of more than four minutes; vertical drops of 135 feet (at a 45-degree angle) and 141 feet (at an 18-degree angle); a 125-foot long underground tunnel at the bottom of the 135-foot drop; eight banked turns – some to 45 degrees; 540-degree helix tunnel and speeds up to 65 mph.

The Beast is one of my favorite roller coasters. It is wooden so its a bumpy 4 minute 10 second ride but totally worth it! The camera is at the bottom of the first hill, on the left, right before you go underground. Totally worth the wait if its a busy day.
