Absolutely the best park and green space in town. We go on daily walks here and always see tons of wildlife

Excellent place to walk, ride your bike or bring the dogs to play. I would be cautious about walking off the path (and even on it somethimes) as locals tend to not pick up their dogs poop. I would say normally there arent any homeless people here but every once in a while a tent will appear. The bird path is gorgeous but if it rains they will close it off to walkers and I would be cautious riding ones bike on it as there is a bridge and the path is narrow at some points with no way for walkers to step off as you try to pass.

Just stumbled upon this park yesterday. So excited to visit more often. Love the beautiful lawn, and excited to see the prairie and woodland in the summer!

It is kept up and most people dont know about it. The trails make a nice loop around the park. Great place to get away as it is usually pretty quiet and peaceful.

Favorite park to bring my pup/dog. Theres a figure 8 loop thats about 2.8mi of maintained gravel that I consider to be the main area of the park with plenty of acreage for my dog to enjoy. Hats and sun protection recommended for certain areas of the trail. A lot of native grass and common birds can be seen if you stay on the outskirts near the trees and closer to the linear trail transitions. There is also a bird trail Cecil Best Bird Trail that is completely shaded and about 3/4 miles long. The bird trail connects to the linear trail which then connects back to the figure 8 depending if you turn the correct way (you will be able to see the park as it is quite open fields). Or you can turn the other way on linear trail and itll take you under highway 24 and connect you to the river trails also a favorite of mine.Overall, a well maintained park with native grasses and birds to see. Theres a large parking lot, trash cans, seasonally-run bathrooms/water fountain, one baseball diamond, soccer fields, open dog areas, dog poo bags are usually available on the figure 8 loop near a trash can. Hopefully both visitors and maintenance keep up on keeping this park clean.
