The new playground is so fun! Definitely better for older kids. Theres lots of rope climbing and only two sildes. One of the sides is built into the hill! Super cool, but just know the hill isnt seeded yet so its basically a dirt mound. My kids were FILTHY at the end of the day. But had so much fun! Just dont dress in nice clothes. Also, its a little difficult to keep track of kids if you dont walk around.
Never been here before and it was good timing! The new playground had apparently just been opened a week ago. It was awesome! The plastic slide built into the hill is a nice touch. Very much a climbing playground for all levels. And a metal slide?! Fast!!We had a blast on this!
Been coming here since I was a kid. Great mixture of fields - baseball, basketball, a lot of walking and some great hidden biking trails. Also the place that most people in the area go to play disc golf for the 1st time; a good course for beginners and intermediates. Pavilions with grills you can reserve for parties and family, and the new playground is great for the tikes, too. Pretty much eerything you can think of.
Great place to go for a walk or to let the kids play. Well maintained and I love the two different playground options for the kiddos.
I love this park and so does my pup! Very pretty and open, with lots of different things to do.
We love to visit the park and walk the trails or letting our daughter play on the swings
I love peaks view park! Definitely an incredible place to bring family and friends to have a good time! I learned how to play disc golf here and I still come to play in the mornings and this is the best corse for anyone to learn on! 8 of the 18 hole course are in the open and the rest are in the woods. This course has a range of technical shots and definitely trains you to hit your lines! The only negative thing I’d say is on the short holes some of the baskets are damaged and need to be fixed or replaced! Other than that this park packs in hours of fun!
New playground still closed but overall a well kept park with nice people throughout.
Great park! Lots of activities including tennis, disk golf, basketball, biking, and baseball. There are also many trails throughout the park which are perfect an after dinner stroll. As for parking, there are 3 entrances each with a large parking lot.
The park is great if youre here to play sports but there is no way to entertain small children now that they tore down the playground.
Played disc golf with the family. My first time to play. It was a very nice park area. Throughly enjoyed it and the park.
The Park had signs telling people how to slow the spread of COVID-19, it was clean with lots of families. My daughters team played a softball tournament there today and everyone was great!
Nice place but confusing about the walking trails. Over All OK and will know next time
A beautiful park but unfortunately the playground has been taken down.
Regarding its disc golf course, its very well maintained and set up, and is a fun course if youre in the area. A great place to tighten up your technical shot skills and have a good time. Definitely a high quality course featuring easier and harder basket placements simultaneously which I thought was a cool practice. Great course despite being in a relatively low traffic park.
This place has plenty of trails, swing sets, sports places, and Ultimate . People are always there playing frisbee golf and baseball, and it is the cleanest park in all of central Virginia. Children often have their birthday parties there, too. Once I saw a drone being used there, too.
Great park for kids and adults. Workout stations, quality equipment and beautiful area. My son likes the creek
I love the trails, the open spaces, and the numerous recreation activities available.
A good kids playground overall but nothing much here for small kids under 5 except the swings. The park is great. Lots of big open spaces and a good variety of activities. Bathrooms are locked on weekends though and the portable bathrooms dont look to be cleaned very often and are pretty gross.
Newly renovated playground and great spot to take kids.
Good place for walks and running about. Enough space that, even when its a busy day, you arent super close to someone.
Several nice ball fields, but no playground for younger children
Peaks View park is the best park with a creek called the Ivy Creek it’s a beautiful place
Nice huge park with lots of fields etc
Took the grandkids. They enjoyed themselves at the playground.
Variety, spacious and plenty of cute puppers to admire.
Great park with a very nice beginner disc golf course
Beautiful! Have not been here for years. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept
Awsome frisbee golf course
Love the disc golf course
Best Park! Has cool Rockwall! Amazing Walking Trails and very cool disc golf course tangled throughout the whole park!
Had a good day hiking the trails, fun outdoors, fresh air and most of all fun. Be prepared when you enter the woods. You may want to carry bear spray,a GPS locator, first aid kit and hydration.
This park is always very lovely. I greatly enjoy using their walking trails and occasionally playing the frisbee golf course.
Well kept park, regularly mowed fields
Always a good experience
I visited the park to watch my granddaughter run her last race of the season. Beautiful park. I definitely see a pic nic in the future there.
One of our favorite parks, lots of slide and different climbing activities for the kids
I love taking the kids to this park. They love all the stuff they can climb on. This day, there were 2 mothers there with her kids (maybe 3 older and a baby). My significant other had just walked our little girl up to the bathroom. One of the little boys asked his mom to take him to the bathroom and she turned around and pointed at the tree and told him to pee there, which he did. I was pretty disgusted. Lazy parenting at its finest. Watch where you step!
Playground at the ivy creek entrance is still closed
Beautiful walking path!
I liked the park a lot. It seemed Very spacious and with a number of different activities available. We walked around the first few holes of the disc golf course, but as I am from out of town, and had not brought my discs so I could not play.
Still a wonderful place l! Would consider replacing some of the picnic tables.
This is great place :) Beautiful scenery and the kids played here for 4 hours.
This park is awesome! Has something for everyone! Ball fields, swings, and rock climbing wall oh my!
I was not impressed with this place at all. We were there for a softball tournament. The bathroom accessibility was horrible!! Girls had to walk approximately 1/2 mile, depending on which field they played on, to get to a decent bathroom. This is completely unacceptable! And the ONE portable restroom available was in no shape to be used. It couldnt have been cleaned out in a very long time - the smell was atrocious - utterly disgusting!! There should be more restrooms built or more CLEAN portables available for use. The parking was lacking as well. When the TINY lots were full, guests had to park on the side of streets in the adjoining neighborhood. If I could give this zero stars, I would!
Beautiful place to visit especially for sports but the restrooms are always super nasty and needs more maintenance work done to it. The river sounds super relaxing and is dog friendly. Baseball and soccer fields are always clean dispite the dirt. Felt like I was being followed one night. On the other hand, No joke, My friend and I heard a chainsaw go off and havent been down there since 6 months ago. Wouldnt recommend going here at night unless youre trying to get man slaughtered or kidnapped.Another creepy thing is, I was being followed by two Mexicans in a dark blue car one day. Had my dog with me. A few days later, I figured out the were with the MS13 trying to figure out what to do with the kids body the killed by chopping his head off a few years back. It was all over the news. Also swore Id never go back but ended up going with my friend and I eventually said no and never went back.Thats all I have to say about Peaks View Park
This is the first park i have visited after relating to Lynchburg. It is nice, big and long trials.
Great place for walking. Paved walkway along river makes for a good walk with the stroller
Great place for recreation or just a walk
The disc golf course is very well kept, and there are two permanent positions for each hole, which lets players of various skill enjoy it. The playground is also in great condition, and has lots of climbing options.
Love this park. It has disc golf, hiking and biking trails, a creek, baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer field, a big kid playground and a two and under playground, and a twoish mile in and out paved trail that also includes a circuit exercise thing. It is maintained very well. Has a good amount of traffic, especially during baseball season.
Went to the park around 2:45 Thursday, not a big crowd. The place had plenty of parking, there were people with children on the swings, couples walking dogs. Crossed over the two bridges to get to the basketball court and shot hoops for 2 hours...nice.I will be going again.
Great I love this park. Its a great place to take your kids. My son loves it here.
Good places place to run, they have trails and exercise stations throughout the park.
One of my favorite places to walk my dog! Theres plenty of places to walk and park. The disc golf course is fun and challenging (Im a beginner). Good place to walk for exercise. There are multiple bathrooms and water fountains (although theyre turned off and locked during winter months). There are two playgrounds, a basketball court, multiple softball/baseball fields, two tennis courts, and miles of paved trails. Anybody who plays pokemon go will enjoy the multiple gyms, stops, and spawns as well.
Great to do various physical activities. I go for walks and runs and I love it. It also has a play ground for little kids.
Overall this is a really nice park but they definitely need more parking for the softball tournaments they have on the weekends
I ran the trail and enjoyed the run. Lots of hills if you are looking for a challenge.
Visited a few times for walking and enjoyed the park..look forward to Patrick Henry for the Children 5k coming up.
Great staff, lots of fantastic places to play a multitude of sports. Good food stands available. Lovely area. They were very helpful when I injured my ankle and couldnt walk. Drove me back to my car with my things and were very accommodating. Highly recommend.
This is a wonderful park for just about everything. I even played the disk gulf course and I must say if your a beginner, it gets hard in the woods.
Fun fun fun
Clean beautiful park with a nice creek.
An excellent family park with beautiful trails for walking, riding bikes and picnicking.
Nice park with lots of walking trails several parking areas playgrounds baseball basketball and disc golf course.
Great park. Facilities were clean and nicely kept. The grounds were nice and well kept as well. The kids loved the playground.
Peaks view park is a great family friend place to enjoy the outdoors. Theres a paved path for jogging, walking, and biking that leads to their trail system. The park also offers a couple playgrounds with safe equipment and is a place for various sports ranging from basketball, baseball/softball, and soccer. There is a frisbee golf course. Or simply looking for a green space and a the shade of a tree, find it here. Theres two pavilions that can be rented for gatherings and a public restroom. A great asset to the Lynchburg community.
It’s beautiful it kid friendly! Play ground is nice, picnic tables, grill, pavilion, metal benches, all surround the playground! All the parents I’ve met this evening have been super nice and very friendly! And the restrooms are on the hill beside the playground! Definitely will be coming back! So peaceful! *remember to bring a bug repellent the mosquitoes were biting me I guess it’s from all the rain we have had in the last couple weeks!
Its been a great park for Sunday walks, taking the kids to the playgrounds, as well as mountain biking in the trail system they have. The trails are moderately difficult with some features here and there.
Pretty. Bathrooms not close to Pavilion s...Bubble Bee all over.
Very well maintained. A lot to do in one park. Bring bug spray! Especially if you’ll be using the frisbee golf course as it does go into the woods.
Great place for kids to let loose & have fun
Awesome place to play softball or grill or enjoy the trails also has fishing for the kids
The park is beautiful, but the city needs to do a better job with the adult sports or lower the registration fees for softball. They canceled a week when it rained for 20 minutes in the morning and was completely dry at night and then we played the first 2 weeks without umpires because we can only reschedule 3 weeks total which we have already had to do, less than halfway through the season.
I love this park so much, its a beautiful environment in a nice quiet area.
Great park well kept and pretty tidy.
Awesome place for a picnic and a place to take the kids. With bathroom stalked with toilet paper to water fountains, this place is a hit. Bring extra water for the little trails into the trees and see if you can spot some sneak peaks of the cute creeks and ravines that run through this park! Also disc golf stations up to 18!
Very nice park and big park in the neighborhood. We love to walk around as a form of our workout. We saw lots of couples or families with kids and dogs walking with them too. Some families, young and old were biking there and enjoying their time together.
Great place to walk. Its all paved
Beautiful park and great for family outings.
It was a great park to walk the dog in! It had a variety of scenery and was well kept.
Great place. Definitely recommend the frisbee course.
Always clean and the people that go are normally good parents. I have taken my 7 year old daughter since she was about 4. Playground is big enough for 15+ kids at once. Swings, monkey bars, slides, fields for baseball, trails. Very nice for a picnic. Tables to sit, benches at each small area of play. Sand is usually around the play area surrounded by wooden barriers.
Nice park for friends and/or family outings. Pet friendly.
Great all around park with frisbee golf course!
Took Bella to school here. She did very good and is getting close to being off leash. The park was nice but the weeds need to be cut
It a great little park. I use it primary for disc golfing. Their course was recently upgraded and in my opinion made it much better. It is good for Beginner to intermediate players. The park also has good running trails, grass fields, baseball fields, and pavilions for the public to use.
Well kept park with a variety of amenities. Walking trails, biking trails, basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, creeks, bridges, baseball and softball fields, this park has it all.
