Even though it is only a couple miles off a main road (Nebraska Ave) it feels very secluded. It takes not even a minute from the front to be completely surrounded by the forest. It is very clean and peaceful. There are a few ponds/lakes but no luck fishing for us. We throw back everything of course but still not even a bite :)
Pretty Trail that is close to the road however extremely secluded. You can pass three ponds on your way around the loop. Plenty of Nature and Wildlife to see
Beautiful calm relaxing park with lots of trees and lakes. Nice place to get away from all the noise. Very nice rustic walking trails.*** I love that you dont have to pay for parking.
I really liked the shady tree covered trails with views of the lakes. We even saw a couple gopher tortoises and one snake! Not too many people hiking on a Sunday morning. The only thing I wish they could improve on is the signage on the trails. I got turned around once but quickly found my way back towards the exit. Also there were a few “bridges” consisting of rotted logs that I was not comfortable crossing, it would be nice if they were redone.
Beautiful area for a walk or run to relax outdoors. love this place because it’s like a little sanctuary in the middle of the city. It’s a shaded area with lots of trails and trees. There’s also two lakes, one in the back and one right by the entrance. I would recommend to bring water and bug spray-especially when it’s warmer. There are no water fountains or bathrooms here either so be aware of that.
I personally love this park and visit regularly, due to its proximity to my home. It is teeming with wildlife, has beautiful trails and plenty of them to explore. But, i give the preserve 3 stars because as of late some homeless people have made this park their home and walking alone in the park is unsettling, which I do not suggest you do. Seeing as how the last time my husband and I went to take a walk in the park we found several bullet casings on the trails and a couple of trees that looked like they were used as target practice. So please go with someone or a group of people, dont go off the trails for your safety, if your going to wear earbuds make sure the volume is low so you can hear, and do not, I repeat, DO NOT go after sunset. There is no lighting in this park.
This place is the best Forest trail Ive been on in a long time. It also isnt popular so its not crowded. Its good for dogs, too. So many different pathways and these pathways are long and have different terrains and altitudes. I walked fast and wild with my dog for about an hour, towards the end slightly doubting my whereabouts until I saw a familiar marker.
Great place for a peaceful walk or to walk your dog or fish, because there is a lake
Beautiful woody, wide, shaded walking trails. This is a hiking trail, not for biking. Great for trail running as very few roots or rocks on trails & they are plenty wide. Gorgeous little lake. FYI - Trail around lake is marshy but rest of Preserve is dry and well kept. Bug spray is necessity in warm weather.
This is a really cool nature preserve in lutz. It has three entrances and miles of walking paths. There is a big lake in the middle. Its free. Worth at least one trip
Great park for a nice walk. Good clean trails and hey beautiful lake to walk around. And probably a couple miles of walking trails.
A hidden gem...I didnt know that this park (that may be hidden if you dont take time out to stop and smell the roses) had so much to offer! It was more than an exercise but also time taken to unwind after a long week and become grounded. The view was beautiful and very serene and also very clean, no trash. Parking is available, free and easily accessible but somewhat limited. There are no bathrooms available. Mosquitos were a bit aggravating as we walked deeper into the area so take repellent and drink plenty of water. Be sure to stay on the path so you wont get lost because they are not marked and keep your eyes open for snakes and MAYBE alligators (I did not see either) while enjoying your walk.
Great place for a walk or run. Can easily get lost would recommend having a phone with you.
Very nice quiet place to visit
Very comfortable walking path with great scenic views & bird watching!
I really love this place. I see so much wild life as long as no one else is around. Lately there are people hanging out in the back...looks like they are building shelter. There has also been a lot of trash on the ground lately...including an entire bag of trash. Some people like to let their dogs loose off the leash which i feel is inconsiderate to other hikers or runners who are enjoying the trails. Also they do not clean up after their dogs so watch your step.
This is a nature preserve with a few small ponds, a lake with white lily flowers and hiking trails. Lots of gopher tortoises. No Parking fee. No bathrooms.Noisy hiker that stalked me with her dog the entire time was odd, not sure if that is a thing or no. There was much trash off the trails, plus folks were burning there, which isnt allowed.
Beautiful setting two or three lakes nice trail
Cool spot for walk with the dogs
Nice place to walk under shade trees
I like the big wetlands and trails.
Its so peaceful! Its natural beauty enveloped me the moment I walked in, making me forget the busy traffic and city that surrounds this oasis. I came out full of the contentment I needed! Love this place
Nice little walking trails and a crystal clear pond great for fishing!!! Just not too impressive but its definitely good enough for a little adventure :)
This is one of my favorite hiking spots due to proximity, no entrance fee & beautiful, hidden trails.
Great hiking trails. Ive never seen another soul at this place, so its pretty quiet and tranquil in the mornings. A user below said that there were homeless people here, but that is definitely NOT the case. No shanties, or vagrants walking around (its so out of the way from anywhere theyd be going). Only nature to be found here, and wide paths that are well-maintained.Criss-crossing paths throughout, you can easily do a few miles here and not even realize it. Just make sure to take a picture of the map they have posted, cause its easy to get turned around and end up on the other side of the park. Area is very safe and can park your car right outside the Sinclair Hills entrance.
My pup and I LOVE this park and the hiking trails for our weekly hikes. The park is within 5 miles from my house and always serves us well. I have told so many people about this park :)
Fun hiking trails. I seem to find a new one almost every time Im there.
Nice preserve in Lutz. Great place to walk the dogs and even try your luck at some fishing. Not a huge park if thats what your looking for. No playground either. Best for a nice walk around the trail.
Really beautiful hidden gem. Great place to get away from everything and connect with nature. Peaceful mediation spots. I could lose time just walking around looking at everything nature has to offer there. And the firebreaks offer great sights off the beaten path. Little peaceful sanctuary in the middle is city life.
Would be nicer if water fountains for pets available.
No frills sanctuary. Perfect to get out in nature and not have to drive forever.
This park is truly one of the best around! Our dogs always have a blast!!
Small park. Nice little walk. We made it last 2.6 miles despite a few flooded areas.
Wide walking paths, but watch for occasional Cypress knees, some of which are barely visible.Could they be ground down to prevent tripping? Those with strollers, walkers, or canes could hit one of those knees and be thrown off balance, as anyone could be.Needs benches for those of us who still enjoy nature, but need to rest briefly along the way. There are no restrooms.A beautiful place to walk.
Beautiful, simple trek. Very quiet and scarcely used preserve.
Love this lil park
I bring my rc trucks with me never get any complaints but i also am not running into people feet amd i try to stay clear of anybodyFew old people saw me and really enjoyed watching the trucks climbing rocks
Great hidden little nature preserve in the middle of the lutz/ Tampa area
Nice long wooded trails around a beautiful lake. There are multiple choices which can get confusing but if you have time, its worth it to go down each one.
Great dog walk
This place is really great
Beautiful path, few miles, shaded and comfortable, aswell as lake views.
A great little park with a bunch of well maintained walking trails
Look for gopher tortoises!
We go there every weekend. Our dog loves the trails.walk for hours on all the diffrent trails.now that the violet curry is back open has anyone besides me noticed the hog rooting and hog hoof prints around the lakes ?
Awesome little place I found out about recently. Really good for easy walks!
This is one of the best places to relax and take in nature. The trails are so peaceful and serene. And the lake i could stare at for hours on end. Very great place i highly recommend for the visit.
Beautiful little park. No facilities and trail has a lot of roots and low hanging branches
Lovely quite reserve.
Easy trails short 2.25 mile hike all level ground. Beautiful light near sun set. No facilities hiking only. Very quite great peaceful walk.
During the summer it can get overgrown, but for the few cool months we have, this is by far my favorite spot to take a long walk with the dog. Theres a bunch of crisscrossing trails in about 2 square miles around a pretty lake where sometimes youll see people fishing. Theres also an old foundation where a house used to be a couple hundred years ago not that far from the lake tucked back in the trails. And a super cool tree that you can lounge in. There are dense trails and wide open pathways. A real gem in the middle of a very densely populated area.
BORING- NO animals, no nothing, saw some dog feces that someone didnt pick up. The trees have some type of pink & white fungus growing on all of them & some are so bad you can see it from afar & it looks red. Tried to spend the afternoon with my daughter but all we wanted to do is get out of there. Oh yeah no picnic benches or restrooms
The park was a lot of fun to explore! It can get a little muddy but well worth the trip!
Easy trails. Small park. Trails are not well marked, but again, theyre easy trails.
Good place for a walk or run.
A nice Nature Preserve in North Tampa several Trails good for a couple mile hike!
Very nice small (160 acre) park for day hiking. Trails not well marked but you cannot get lost. Parking by road. Fishing in lake but lake not accessible except by hiking (easy hike). No overnight camping.
A number of easy, flat, well maintained trails. Not overly scenic. Easy parking. Look out for dog poop. Not all visitors conside rate of others
Its nice and beautiful and peacefull for a walk.
Great little gem of a place to walk the dogs or just enjoy nature.
Great place to relax and take a stroll. Well maintained, can improve in the lake areas. Apart from that love it!
Grew up hanging out in here. Its not well kept and usually has quite a bit of joggers and dogs.. but its peaceful in the mornings. Not a whole lot of wildlife unless you get off the trails.
Beautiful preserve great place to walk!
Very beautiful!!! It could use more detailed signs because it seems very easy to get lost in if youve never been there before, but otherwise a nice calm place to hike or nature watch!!
Very quiet. But pay attention! Easy to get lost on the numerous trails.
Great walk multiple trail options
The only thing that takes a star away are the people who come here.
Great dog walk
Nice and clean place to walk through the woods. Very scenic and peaceful. Good place to bring your doggies too.
Nice hiking trails. Primitive area, no facilities.
Best spot
Small but nice natural preserve with trails along a lake. Great for biking or jogging.
Cool place to relax
I love this place just to meander and relax
A quiet and peaceful preserve that makes for a great place to walk or have a small picnic.
Nice little slice of heaven in the middle of the city. I dont like that theres not real parking, but it was a cool place to get away from everything
Beautiful hiking trails natural Florida in town
Beautiful park
Great place to run with the dog
Great, always new trails to try out and gopher tortoises to see.
Nice sandy hiking trails around Lake Flynn.
Its seems, almost endless at first even though its a small park very natural
Quite free open to everyone love the trails..
It is a nice park with a Pokéstops inside of it. Great place to walk around and be in nature.
This place is wonerful! We really enjoyed walking the trails and there is a lake in the back as well!
Small park with walking trails only. Pond located in park. If you live close nice park to walk and relax.
