3.5 miles of partially shaded trails. Can be extended as the trail connects to the paved Upper Tampa Bay trail. Parking only no facilities, no water, no bathrooms. Dog friendly. The trail can get water logged very easily in many spots so would avoid after a heavy rain. Road noise isn’t noticeable in most parts of the trail and altogether it is a pretty scenic hike.

Gets a little flooded, so watch the weather, and the parking is small but free. Still beautiful!

I love this place because you can feel like you are out in the country even though you are right near Northdale and Lutz.

The trail is great for a walk with the dogs. The parking area is very small but worth getting to. I recommend getting there mid day your first time out as it is very easy to get lost.

Variety of trail types to walk. Sometimes mucky, but passable, water crossing on a couple of spots. Lots of wildlife, possums, armadillos, raccoons, bobcat and coyote. I did about 6 miles of trail walking back there on several trails, lots to see. Make sure you have a map! Trails need to be marked better but....also a lot of flora and fauna. Take a plant guide and have a ball! Everything from swamp to pine thickets.

Took my pup out for a short run and was pleasantly surprised how peaceful it was. We only saw one other person on the trails until we ran into the paved Suncoast trail.

This is just a simple little area to take a nice walk in a private, wooded area. No amenities, just a nature preserve. Only, maybe, 6 parking spots! Not frequented by many, mostly an occasional dog walker. I take my Gigi there because shes a rescue & scared of everything! We enjoy a 20 min to half hour of solitude & puppy-parent bonding!

I have been walking my bullmastiffs through here for years. Very pretty and unspoiled natural Florida. Trails are great. Sometimes a little wet and rough but always worth it.

Nice walking trails. Didnt see any wildlife other than some birds. Easy to get lost! Small stream you have to forge to continue on one trail. Plan on wet socks. Tons of butterflies in March!

Cool little nature preserve. Nice to get some exercise walking/hiking around. Pretty well marked trails. Nothing paved and no facilities though, it is a true nature area.

Very quiet, small preserve but I go nearly every morning. Sometimes the paths are flooded from rain and its impossible to get around, but when its dry, its a super nice place to go. Parking is limited but barely anyone is there when Ive gone, which is often.

Ive been walking my dog here everyday for the past 6 months or so and I love it. Very quiet & peaceful. Plus it is HUGE- it took me a few months of exploring (and Geocaching) to discover all of the main sections of the preserve...its truly one of Tampas best hidden gems!* My advice is to BRING BUG SPRAY - for you AND your dog!! (Especially during summertime) Otherwise, dont bother unless youre into the whole being eaten alive thing. I forgot mine once and I couldnt even go 20 steps before having to turn around - its that serious. Also, as always, be super careful when going off trail, even if its just a few steps - its very easy to get lost and there are areas where there are underground yellow jacket nests along certain trees. My dog and I stopped for a water break one day (a spot we normally stop at) and as he was approaching one of the nearby trees to urinate on, we both stepped on what appeared to be a pile of wet, dead leaves- in a matter of seconds my dog was covered in these yellow&black bugs and took off running. We were both swarmed and it was pretty bad - to the point where I had to take my clothes off (which btw- the privacy here definitely came in handy for sure lol) and dump dirty rain water on my dog just to get them off of him! But - overall, we were pretty lucky...I think I got stung worse than my dog (thankfully) - and even though its funny to think about now...it was still pretty traumatic at the time and wouldnt wish that upon anyone! So the moral to my story - it doesnt matter how familiar you are with the place, just be very careful and mindful of your surroundings! This place is a straight up nature preserve and youre completely on your own here.

Beautiful, very well maintained and extensive trail system. Lots of wildlife, even a few endangered species here and there. There a few different FL ecocystems here; some of it is palmetto and bushes, and theres some oak forest. Some of the trailheads can get pretty muddy after a rain, and one trail even crosses over a beautiful cypress forest/floodplane and another over a tiny offshoot creek that are only there after rain. It even connects to the much longer 42mi Suncoast Trail, which is paved for bicycles and runs along the suncoast parkway.
