The play village is gone but it is a relaxing place to go read and have your lunch break.

Wonderful idea and Im sure was a 5 star years ago. A great place ruined by lack of attention and maintenance. Exposed nails, rotting wood, trash everywhere. I know they did a lot over the summer, but a new plan is needed. Unsafe play conditions

Just saw the other day that this park is closed for safety and repairs. I think its time to tear it down and build something new.I think this would have been a great playground 15 years ago, but it needs work. The boards are coming undone and there are nails sticking out for kids to get caught on. I think there are safety issues here, but hey, Im just a parent. The trash is another issue, and this place needs a cleanup, big time.

Peaceful place to read a book when you take a break for lunch.

Great playground. could be better upkept, but tax dollars are needed everywhere and not everyone follows the leave it better than you found it motto....a few holes on the slides so they dont collect water would be an improvement as we had to leave early today due to my youngest sliding down and getting all wet....

My kids love playing here, and it is such a sweet place. I love how any vandalism done is quickly fixed, I greatly appreciate the work that goes in to keeping this a nice and safe place for my children to play and make precious memories!!

Theyre repairing and improving the park for the next generation of children, hopefully without straying too far from the original design that we all know and love. Thank you, Volunteers and the City of Lubbock for listening and responding! They hope to reopen in spring or summer of 2019... I cant wait!I was a teenager when this place was finished in 2002 and loved to come here. Now that Im an adult, my kids love it here. A word to the wise, if you dont know where youre going in the castle, its easy to get turned around.

Coolest park ever. Plenty of shade. Once they fix up the gaps in the surrounding fence, I would feel more secure letting my kids out of my sight. They do have a sign stating they have plans to fix the place up as it is due. Regardless, this place is awesome.

This is a great place for kids. My only concern is that even with the recent repairs, some issues still need to be addressed. For some reason there are openings in the fences. This could lead to a child leaving on their own or with someone else, and if parents are watching the main entrance, they will never know. Also, the Music area has no tools to allow kids to actually make sounds.

So sad to finally arrived and the place be closed. Driving through Lubbock and looking for a place to let the kids run around and the whole thing is closed. Itlooked so amazing and the kids were so bummed to not be able to go in.

Could use lots of fixing up... but i loved the park as a kid, and love it just as much now! great place for children to play and teens to hang out

Im giving it two starts simply for the condition of the playground equipment. Complete sections of wood panels are missing. On any given day you will see children on top of the two story castle. The city doesnt seem to care either

Really superb playground design, or at least it was in 2002 when it opened. It still is awesome, but its a shame the community isnt taking better care of it. Litter everywhere. Graffiti that needs attention. Exposed nails and lose boards. Broken musical instruments need mending.This playground and the kids drawn to it deserves better. United Supermarket should organize a monthly, or weekly, park clean up.Dont let this great playground fall to ruin.

Great place to rest & watch the kids play until the are so tired they go sleepy in car. Open from 9 to 9. Teenagers enjoy quiet time.

It’s winter but occasionally there are warm days. On these days the authority responsible should unlock the restrooms. It defers young family’s away from attendance. Sort out the pipe insulation prior to winter freezes. The time spent picking up trash receptacles could be spent unlocking the restrooms. Free Top soil/fill dirt could be acquired easily and only expensed by renting install machinery for landscape holes. The playground materials are still in working condition.

While we this park is a wonderful place for kids to play it was closed the last time we visited. After some research it appears the park closed for rennovations and will not re do en until the Spring or Summer of 2019.

Fun place to take the kids

Very fun place for kids. Some features have broken or loose boards. Also watch for broken bottles. The park needs to be cleaned up.

Nice park with large playground and a nice link style disc golf course. Tee boxes are dirt which isnt the best, but the course has the best baskets in Lubbock.

I want to thank Lubbock Texas for Legacy park. But apparently I found out it was closed for the summer for maintenance. Me and my 18 month go there alot. And spend alot of hours there playing. I love my son so much that we have a strong bond together. We were just sadden that it would not be open. My job consist of me going out of town for long periods of time. So I try to spend what little time I have with him before I head back out of town again for a couple of weeks. I do hope that it opens back up soon. Thank you

We had our company picnic there. I would like to see more trees out there.

Its fun. We went around 9 am there were very few people there so it was very easy to sit and see and hear the kids. I know it gets more busy later in the day though.

Nice park. Great for parties. Reserve your table though.

A lot of the play Village needs to be updated and get some good sponsorship to help update and get involvement from the community

This park is insanely fun...but insanely run down and in need of repair.

This is the best place to take your kids to play if you as an adult enjoy playing as well. It is disappointing that it is not open on the weekend since I work most weekdays but overall my family really enjoys each visit.

Best park ever!!!!! Reminds me of the wooden parks from my childhood! Crowded on a perfectly weathered Saturday and there was a bit of trash, mostly water bottles, around the park, but still highly recommend!

Nice park but the years of weather and neglect are starting to take its toll. The park is in need of repairs and maintenance. There is some safety hazards for the youth.

Originally this was the Go to Park in Lubbock however it is now lacking in visual appeal and is becoming trashed due to lack of maintence. It is still a great place to let your child roam and meet new people and explore their imagination of this miniture village themed park.

This place used to be so awesome. Now its vandalized and looks just pitiful. Thats not their fault though its the fault of the Lubbock residents who did this to the park.

We were visiting lubbock and spotted this playground, glad we did bc where we are from theres nothing like this. the kids loved ot and we thought it was pretty cool, the layout the big houses . we had alotta of fun

Spent an awesome couple of hours playing and running at Legacy Play Village! But, restrooms were quite stinky according to my boys.

My son and I love LPV! We always have such a good time. Its big, fun aand really sparks the imagination! He could explore the castle for days if I let em! It also gives me good exercise! I notice most of the negative reviews are about cleanliness...everything in LPV was donated. Its up to the parents to pick up after themselves and their children. There are trash cans all over the park. Anytime Im there I do my part and pick up the empty Gatorade bottles and Styrofoam cups etc as we play. If everyone did this instead of complain it would be spotless. I dont mind doing my part to keep LPV clean for the kiddos. With that being said I plan on taking my boy to Legacy for years to come!!!!

Like other reviews this place would be epic! But it is filthy! Old and generally lacks care by the city. Needles and condoms litter the place! Photo I post is a park the same age but in a city that cares.
