Awesome venue, fast bar service. Clean restrooms and friendly staff

Zbar has a great atmosphere that accommodates all ages and backgrounds. They have a great menu with great pricing. Service is quick and friendly. Drinks are good and also reasonably priced. They have plenty of live artist performances so theres always a genre that might appeal to you. They also have an arcade section, and nice outdoor seating. They are a local business that also strongly supports other local businesses. I also used their curbside pickup services during COVID19 and their friendliness and efficiency remained consistent.

Top notch service, food, and drink. That Korean cooking is at a whole different level. Get that veggie dumplings, matter of fact get two orders, youre doing yourself a favor.

This bar has something for everyone. Pinball, alcohol, music, and a stage. Would come here again!

Food is above average, though somewhat pricey if you are just looking to eat a meal as a regular dinner affair. Z-bar seemingly charges a premium for the atmosphere and additional amenities like the scheduled live music/concerts, among other entertaining options like the games. The food prices are more fair if you take the time to play on the pinball machines and arcade cabinets available (make sure to bring $1 or $5 bills for the change machine as otherwise you may need to use the ATM near the entrance or end up relying on the kindness of an employee to hopefully break a larger bill into $1s and $5s). The way I think about it, if you consider all the floor space the gaming machines take up, and how many paying customers and tables that space could have otherwise supported if the pinball machines werent taking up space, it makes sense that there would be a slight price premium to make up for the lost revenue from those missing tables/customers. That said, the prices arent so high that I have ever felt that I wasnt getting my moneys worth. Every time I go to Zanzabar I feel like I have a great time.Z-bar has a great variety of games, including both pinball tables and arcade cabinets, and they are all periodically rotated into and out of the bars current selection of available games. These refreshes provide a fun and affordable way to access a huge catalog of new and classic games you otherwise might have never been able to enjoy. Refreshing also helps avoid regular customers losing interest in the current games by rotating games out before they lose too much novelty and appeal.This bar has an acceptable selection of beers, some of which are bottled and some of which are available as draft. Though, to be clear, Im personally someone who prefers cocktails to most beer, so Im not a great person to review the beer selection. However, regarding the mixed drinks, they have a competent selection of liquors for making most of the drinks you are likely to be familiar with, including premium brands for people who are picky about their preferred bourbon, whiskey, et cetera. Though I do want to note that they dont, at least currently, offer any drinks commonly served frozen, like a Daiquiri or a Pina Colada. So, if you order a Margarita at Zanzabar then it will definitely be of the non-frozen variety, but youll be having so much fun with the pinball machines, mixed drinks and comfort-food style menu that you wont miss that Margarita slushie anyways!I can personally recommend the Pterodactyl Chicken Wings (though I may have accidentally left off/misremembered part of the items name) as a pretty good deal for the satisfying quantity of wings you get. The Buffalo sauce is butter-forward, not too spicy, and delicious for those who want this classic sauce. Alternatively, the sweet chili sauce is what I get on the wings if I want a less-traditional sauce than the Buffalo sauce.If you are not a fan of strong garlic flavor, then you should avoid some of the seasoning they use on certain food items, such as the tater tots. The seasoning is added to the food after cooking, not during, so you can simply request it not be added to totally avoid that garlic flavor while still getting your tater tots made otherwise normally. If you are unsure if your order will have seasoning added, then asking the waitstaff is never a problem in my experience. In fact, the one time I was not in the mood for that garlic seasoning, I was able to ask them to withhold it and it was withheld without any difficulties. The waitstaff here do a good job and I believe there were not any major mistakes with my service or food over the dozen or so times Ive eaten at Z-bar. If Im intentionally nitpicky then I could cite a few minor issues, but those were always immediately addressed to my satisfaction.Ive had nothing but good things to say about Z-bar since my first visit. They have excellent service (especially for a bar), above-average bar food and a curated selection of classic gaming cabinets and pinball tables. Check this place out!

This is a great venue: the bar area is intimate without being too jam-packed, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the food is top-notch. The concert hall is probably the best set up Ive seen in a long time: its big enough to get a large crowd in there, but its also small enough to allow for a sense of intimacy with the band that you simply cant replicate in a large arena or theater. Ill be back to play some old school arcade games, I promise.

Great pinball bar in Louisville. They have around 10 different pinball games as well as some retro arcade games. Awesome selection of beers on tap and good prices. The bartender was extreme attentive and helpful. I will definitely be returning during my next trip to Louisville.

Zbar is the best. Missing concerts of course, but the chicken fingers, falafel wrap and tots have been a takeout staple

Zbar is one of the most special places that exist, IN THE WHOLE UNITED STATES! I love coming here to play pinball, because all the games are 100%, plus the food is great! Staff is really friendly, you just cant beat zbar at anything!

Z-Bar is a funky little place that is unique to Louisville. While it is a music venue and club, it sports a surprising array of pinball machines. The tap list is really great especially for how small Zanzabar is. It has a quiet little courtyard around the side too, which is cool if you need to step outside for a drink and a smoke break. The bands that they line up here are solid as well, and the security do a fantastic job at making sure everyone is having safe fun!

Blackened chicken tacos and homemade blue cheese dressing on salad was awesome.

One of the best small venue experiences I have had. The door guy was such a nice guy, which is pretty rare to find. The food and service was really good and the venue was wonderful. Great sound quality, great size and the rear part of the standing area is raised, which helps the entire audience see the show. 10/10 would come here again for a show or just a few drinks.

The stage and sound system are great. Nice selection of drinks and craft beer. Nice-looking food so that you dont have to leave hungry

My favorite neighborhood watering hole! Fun, funky, little joint to grab a drink, grab a bite and play some pinball. Theres something to be said of a place that consistently puts out good food, the owner circulates the building and the bartenders greet you with a smile.

Great live music venue for both local and touring acts. Excellent sound techs. Healthy pours on the mixed drinks, great bar food and reasonably priced.

This way first time at Zanzabar. Such a cool place! I went to see the BAM Chix and the Small Town Titans. Terrific stage, cool crowd, and awesome drinks. I had an easy time parking on the street. My favorite part of the night, other than the rockin Bam Chix, was the pinball machines!!! I felt like a little kid again playing pinball with my friends. Ill definitely go back to Zanzabar any time.

Food was delicious. A few classic arcade games and about 15 pinball machines. Had a comedy awards show at 8 so it was crowded at the end but id still say 4 stars

Went for the Kongos concert back in October 19! Great service and amazing, friendly atmosphere. Definitely will be swinging by next time in Louisville.

Had a fun time at Zanzibar, the venue was Comey and gave you room to get pretty close to the performers, we went to see froggy fresh! It was a fun time! The staff at Zanzibar was friendly!

Saw Tyler Cassidy there just last week. The event place was really nice and personal. The room where the artists play is seperate from the bar and fits maybe 100+ pretty comfortably. The bar serves food and drinks and the stage is right about knee level so front row is really front row.

Great place for music be prepared to stand the whole night unless you want to sit in the bar away from the stage.

Really nice place, great stage for shows

Got to see a great band, called Windhand, at this bar. The band was wonderful, even though the sound system for the bar, had issues most of the night.

This place was amazing! I went out with my brother and a few of his friends we had an awesome night. I danced and danced and danced. Met some interesting people, a mixed crowd. Drinks were good and not over priced. I can not wait until my next visit. Taking friends with me too next time, theyre gonna love it! The DJ, the lights I cant say enough!

Saturday nights are my favorite. Theres always a great crowd and I love the dance music. This is definitely my go to place for going out on the weekend.

Zanza Bar aka zbar has always been a favorite for me. Late night eats and a great beer selection. Music every weekend and a killer EDM set every Saturday at midnight. Expect a crowd on Saturday night.

My top score on Galaga was 48,000. Then some young punk came in like a boss and just dropped 64,020 on me.Other than that little moment of TOTAL BS, this is a wonderful neighborhood bar with a great local music scene. Pinball as far as the eye can see. The tots are a great late night snack.Zanzabar is magic.

Would have been a 5 star review but unfortunately the female bartender had the audacity to disrespectfully and loudly shame the 16% tip we left after only ordering beer and single pour shots all night... The music was amazing, atmosphere was fun, and we had an excellent time. However, that womans customer service was deplorable.

Watched Louisville lose in the NCAA tournament, not so good...but Zbar gave free pizza and seeing the game on the big screen in the BIG concert room was the BEST!!

Youre not Gonna go wrong with either the draft beer selection, menu, or pin ball here. Not to mention the back room music stage with pretty great acoustics... Z bar is pushing ten and will brings the fun!!

Awesome neighborhood bar to grab some good food and a drink

Very intimate music theatre if you are ok with standing. Look twice or you might miss outside with limited identification to stand out from neighborhood homes and stores. Saw and met Maggie Rose. Great show. Well worth the modest admission price.

I love this place been here few times seen some really good shows. Its a great place to discover new music the group that come here and very down to earth. Lots of good craft beer and tasty bar food.
