What a wonderful experience. I was a little apprehensive about the price at first but want to head with it anyway. All I can say is that is definitely worth the money. The kids had an amazing time and shared a valuable experience that they will never forget. It’s rare to have an opportunity for your kids to be creative in a very hands-on environment like this. Would recommend 100%. My kids said that it was one of your favorite things that we have done all week and we have done some really amazing an expensive things.

What a fantastic experience! I was traveling to Kentucky and found Payton Glass on line. So glad I didnt miss this experience. Mark Payton, owner/artist, skillfully led me through the creation of two projects. It took 30 minutes for each one.His assistant took many videos and photos that I have been able to share with my friends and family. I will definitely go back if I have the opportunity again. Thank you, Mark!

While visiting my best friend in town we decided to do something touristy that we hadn’t done before. It was an awesome and fun experience. We made ring holders and he was a great teacher. Mark knew exactly how to make our experience fun and exciting. While talking with Mark I learned he allows people to make their own “Spirit Pieces” and infuse the ashes of a loved one yourself in your glass piece. This is where my experience got really special. I decided to conspire to get some of my aunts ashes and surprise my Memaw (she lost her first born child to cancer 2yrs ago) for the experience. What an amazing and special experience I had with her there. It was so special to watch her make it with her own hands. There was a very special spirit in the air as she made hers and I made one for my mom. Mark was respectful with the ashes and empathetic to the situation. When my 78yr old grandmother was done she said she loved it and had always wanted to work with some glass. She also loved the process of making this comfort stone. She said she liked being able to know it was her daughter’s ashes, that she made with her hands, that you could look at it, hold it in her hand or keep it in her pocket. She said it gave her a sense of completeness, there will never be closure on Jetta because our love for her will never end, but it made her feel more complete. We got the pieces in the mail today and I surprised my mom with hers (she loves it) and took my Memaw’s hers. I got a little choked up watching my Memaw open it. She held it to the light, then rubbed her fingers over it, then wrapped it in her whole hand and held it tight. Then she showed my uncle Doug and said “look that’s Jetta in there”. The fact that she said those words and not ‘there’s some of Jetta’s ashes in there’ let me know how special it was to her. She even put it on her high power flashlight to look at every fleck. I HIGHLY recommend the experience.

Me and my wife did the Flame it during our Louisville visit and it was really a great time. We really enjoyed making the pieces and Mark really took his time explaining everything as we worked. He did control a lot of the movement and has you working in tandem with him. But the result was a really beautiful piece instead of a misshapen lump of glass. Would definitely recommend and we plan on bringing the kids here when we visit again.

Such a unique, hands-on opportunity! Great price for such a wonderful experience. We were driving through Louisville, and we decided to stop and see this place because we saw it on trip advisor (or something of the sort). We just walked in, and I was able to sit down and make my own personalized glass blown masterpiece! I made an adorable ring holder that I was able to design and create in less than half an hour. Mark, the super cool professional glass blower, helped me through every step of the process. 10/10 would recommend!

It was fun to design our own suncatchers today. Good explanation on what to do and decent prices for something of that nature. We watched some of the glass blowing while we were there, too

We were looking up things to do during a visit to town, and found Marks site. Glasswork is something weve been interested in trying, so we stopped by and we each made a different piece in the Flame It class (about 30 min each, and thankfully Mark was free when we arrived and we didnt need an appointment). Mark is a great teacher and happy to answer questions. You do have your hands on the glass most of the time, and so does Mark, and youre following specific steps - youre not left to just torch glass all on your own, that would be disastrous for newbies! ;) You do get to choose all the colors for your sculpture. We were leaving town early the next day and could not pick up the pieces after they were in the kiln overnight, but they will ship the pieces out if needed. We both had a lot of fun, it was a unique experience and it was one of the highlights of our weekend. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our time here today! The owner Mark was so patient with my 5 year old daughter. He explained everything in a way that was easy and quick to understand. I highly recommend this as a must do for every parent visiting Louisville...dont be afraid of all the glass! Its very creative and fun!

We did the flame your own art which you have to make an appointment for. I was pretty excited. A little disappointed though that you dont do more things by yourself. The guy is there but hes the guide/lead and you just do a few things with him. So. Yes, we made our own pieces, but really he made it and we helped some. It went pretty quick too. No complaints there since I had never done this. It was just a surprising factor. For 2 people it took around 45 minutes.

Stopped by after Flame Run, we were asked if we wanted to make anything and when we said we just came from Flame Run the negativity and attitude that was very disheartening. It was sad to see one artist put down another. It was a big turn off so we left
