The best venue in LA, I can’t wait until I can go back. They have the best shows and options without compare
Cute, old theater with leather seats that push back to recline a little. Big enough for an intimate, little audience with whom the comedian can connect easily. Liked the charm of the place. No drink holders in seats of course, and mostly only popcorn for sale, and I dont think they have an alcohol license. Wed just eaten dinner so we didnt want anything but water, but others might. Show conveniently on at 9pm. I would suggest catching transport here as the surrounding area is dark, with a large homeless encampment down the street at the edge of the park.
I came here for a comedy show and was thoroughly impressed. There were 6-7 comics who did 15-20 minute sets. They were all fantastic and I was laughing harder than I ever have. After the stand up comics went, the headliners, the Lucas Brothers took the stage. The venue is the perfect size, not too large or small, with a very intimate feel. There isnt a bad seat in the house. Parking could be better. I lucked out and found a meter on a side street. I believe there is a nearby structure for a flat fee as well. They also have valet as an option.
A very nice and cozy so called hole in the wall type venue. It gives you a very cozy old school feel. They sell concessions such as drinks, popcorn, etc but NO alcohol. This wasnt an issue for us having drank before our comedy show but it certainly would have been nice to have. Overall it was greatly enjoyable night for the wife and I. Certainly recommend.
Teeny-tiny theatre in a not-so-great neighborhood. Theres public parking around the corner. Only one bathroom, so go before you attend any performances here. Quaint and well-loved.
Intimate theater for live performances. Very relaxing and fun vibe. Looking forward to seeing more shows there. Its located adjacent to the super-sketchy MacArthur Park, so be sure to park in a well-lit place and hide valuables out of view from wandering junkies.Theres a 6-level parking garage around the corner that charges a $9 flat rate. Its probably your best option.
They do really great ensemble nights. Its Well run by happy people. I like going there
WHAT AN AWESOME VENUE!! Youd BARELY see the marquee as you drive by this place, as most LA gems are holes in the wall. Nothing screams intimate hideout like a hole in the wall, right..? WELL HERE IT IS. Bring a date & dont worry about having a flask in your back pocket. I recommend their stand-up comedy nights.Skateboard friendly
Saw Out-take-Orama with some of the cast of Futurama, and it was hilarious! The venue is intimate and helped make the night feel special and cozy! I would definitely love to come back to this venue.
Quaint little venue. Great seats. Nice staff. No alcohol though. So if you go for funny and like to drink get that beforehand
Super fun theater with a wide range of shows. Old school atmosphere but really clean. Not a bad seat in the house!
I always have a good time at the Dynasty. Theyre a beer and wine license away from perfection
Cool, intimate little theater. Seats were a bit small but were decently comfortable.
Awesome hidden theater in dtla. Fav act is traveling Misfit Cabaret.
The best place for smart standup and alt-comedy. Friendly staff & fun concessions
Cute and well run little theatre. Went for the penultimate episode of Harmontown and had a great time.
One of my favorite venues in Los Angeles. Good prices and great content. Highly recommend
In love with this venue! Not only is it beautiful but everyone who works there is super friendly and just lovely people!
This place is cool as hell. Popcorn is legit
Comfortable seats and great shows, a welcome new(ish) venue for comedy. Get the popcorn!
The best part about this theater is the amazing staff. They have made my husband and I feel very welcome and taken care of every time we visit. Its like we found our Cheers with the Dynasty family. The shows they have are awesome and we do our best to come every month. Support local theatre like these guys and gals. They deserve it.
This was a really cool venue. Go early if you want to be at the front of the line. Tickets still out fast and they have really great performers (such as Marc Maron!!!). All the people who work there were nice and worked very quickly. Definitely a place to keep your eyes on.
Cozy theater, chairs recline but have metal frames that can bruise a shin.
Comedians were great! hip decor nice people. multiple stage lights flashing like strobes at the audience for the entire headliner performance. not addressed until comedian riffed on it for 5 minutes at he end of his show. I get that tech problems happen but it ruined the show for me.
Was there for HANDS ABOVE SHOULDERS: GAY GUYS TELL TRUE TALES FROM THE TRENCHES OF SHOW BIZGreat place, great service, try the popcorn with raisinettes!
Great place to see a show. Staff customer service is fantastic. They don’t (as of April 8 2019) serve alcohol but the concession stand attendant said that they are waiting for license approval.
Great place for comedy, even though the seats can be uncomfortable, which is to be expected from the old theater seating. If anything, this adds to the overall charm and vibe. The popcorn can only be described as mouthwatering, tasty, flavorful, delectable, toothsome, piquant, scrumptious, scrummy, yummy, finger-licking good!
Im just here to confirm everyone elses glowing reviews.I popped into LA for a dazzling music concert, then hit up the Dynasty Typewriter to see a couple of my favorite acts. Somehow, the Dynasty Typewriter bested the concert as being a truly inviting and magical experience. To everyone working to make that theater what it is: Thank you!
Saw a Harmontown show at this theatre. The atmosphere is great, popcorn is even greater!
Had a great time new years eve!
This is by far the best and most enchanting experience for our LA vacation. the staff made us feel extremely welcome. Jamie Flams touch is everywhere and fills the place with magic and curiosity. Thank you so much for the great experience, great show, and perfect night.
Enchantingly adorable venue! We were lucky enough to get to see a wonderful line up of very funny people while we were in town. The theater itself is spacious and comfortable, and its clear that the amazing folks who run the place care for it a whole lot. We cannot wait to come back to visit!
This is such a stellar venue! There are warm and professional staff. An excellent curation of talented artists and events. A fun atmosphere. Comfortable seats. Nice snacks. Make sure to bring your allergy pills though, if susceptible... its been reported of minor reactions. Still awesome. Enjoy!!
Awesome little theater with a vintage motif. Caught a taping of Harmontown here and the size is perfect for a comedy show.
Great little theater with a popcorn bar.
Friendly staff, well organized seating policy, and a nice snack bar
Great venue for the live comedy show we saw. Super nice staff, tasty popcorn and a super cool vibe. Makes me think of the great indie venues I used to visit in NorCal. I cant wait to go back!
Wonderful venue with comfy reclining chairs. The owners are fabulous and incredibly welcoming.
Great little theatre with exceptional indie comedy programming. I was blown away by the show I saw... Nick Kroll did a surprise walk-on set!
Cool little spot, relatively comfortable seating (more comfy than Largo for example), cheap shows too
Beautiful intimate venue. Great for concerts and comedy shows. Clean vibe thats great for the crowd it appeals to.
Been there several times for Harmontown and the Valentines Day Soiree. Fantastic people and its always fun. Thanks for letting my wife and I rock out on our special dance!
Super cool place to take in a comedy show
Cute vintage theater, the seats can recline which is like wow, amc/regal get it together. Smelled like popcorn walking in, gets you in the mood for a good show
This theater has a really cool vibe and they are hosting some of the best comedy shows in Los Angeles. There are frequently big names dropping in unannounced so you never know what kind of fun youre going to be in for. My favorite regular occurrence is Rob Lynchs Tomorrow Show on Saturday nights at midnight. Its always a hilarious collection of acts ringmastered by one of the best hosts ever to Grace a stage. Also- lots of puppet action at this venue! Cant beat that!
Went to see the Tomorrow show and had a great time. Word of caution for plus size people, most of the seats are tiny! The seats in the back row are bigger though so my husband and I were able to enjoy the show.
Great new(ish) venue - beautiful space, cool acts/events... and truly incredible bathrooms.
Very nice intimate theatre, seats are roomy and very comfortable. Not a bad seat in the house! Staff was extremely nice!
Staff was super amazing and the popcorn is mwah! Nice theater with great decor. No parking so take an uber. Saw The Penalty here which is a highly recommended documentary. Overall great experience. Ill be keeping an eye out for upcoming shows so I can revisit this hidden gem.
I love Dynasty: the space, the staff, the acts, all of them are just right!
The theater is awesome! It has the feel of a vintage theater, but with modern conveniences. I look forward to going back again soon.
Cool place to exist in and the guy at the front where you buy food and shirts was really, really nice!
Beautiful Theater. Make sure to visit the Tomorrow! show hosted by Ron Lynch Saturday Night at Midnight. Its incredibly entertaining!
Beautiful medium sized space! Full of potential. I love seeing shows here.
Great venue and a super friendly staff
Damn good! Great old theater. Saw Eddie Izzard, hilarious.
Great theater! Can’t wait to catch more shows here. The staff is awesome! And did I mention popcorn with coconut oil!?
Such a great intimate venue. Really loved the whole look and the goodies were a nice treat.
Great little theatre, #roseabdoo was fantastic!
Awesome comedy venue thats taking over LA
Just dont sit behind the tall guy
Good place to experience Harmontown live as a virgin to the live but a veteran to the Harmontown audio √
Great venue, great contemt
Lobby was kinda cramped but the staff were lovely
Great new comedy performance space, intimate with comfy seats in a renovated vintage theater. Their programming is top notch.
The best typewriter Ive ever seen!
Small theater Great Sound Great staff entertaining decor ... and affordable!
Nice little theater with a cute writing theme and a tiny tiny snack stand.
Great comedy. Beautiful building. Friendly staff and superb popcorn.
It was really nice inside, a bit small though but it felt intimate.
Its Netflix IRL
Lovely venue.
Best venue in town
Great theater, strange chairs
Great venue! Small and intimate where an interactive show works really well.
Amazing curated comedy! Vegan popcorn! Pencils!
Great little place for movie night! Definitely recommend it!
I was there for the Camdonyes! show. The owners were kind and welcoming and the show was great. I look forward to returning here for more events. High-fives!
Definitely an unique experience. Loved the free haikus in the lobby.
When the MC slipped, I took over. Everything else Cest bien!
