I love this particular movie house! The ambiance was amazing, the customer service was excellent, and the food was delicious! Love that they have a full bar and you can relax when watching the movie. Customer service has always been excellent, and the servers are always so nice. Also, I have always found the movie house clean and comfortable. It is always our favorite spot to catch a movie!
I enjoyed VISTA THEATRE Cinemas but usually go to LA. This place can get really crowed at peak times. They have a parking structure which makes parking easy. Overall, good theater but mainly do to reserved seating.
I am happy to visit one of the best cinema houses in town. The staff working was very accommodating, pleasant, and friendly to the customers. Even the foods were hot, and the drinks were too cold. Also, when entering the cinema house, the seats were very comfortable, and the screen was too big, clear, and loud. Honestly, this cinema house was great. Thanks!
How could anyone not love the VISTA THEATRE? In a world of cineplexes and mass-audience movie houses, the VISTA THEATRE is a monument to a time when movie theaters were opulent jewel boxes designed to lift people out of drab wartime woes and depression-era poverty. That this theater hasnt been torn down to make way for progress is a minor miracle.
We came here yesterday and it was the best and enjoyable experience we had. This may be small, but it was a very comfortable cinema. The plush comfy seats made me feel like I seeing a film in a private screening. The air-conditioned was cold but bearable. The prices and food at their snack bar were very affordable, too. We will be back again when a new movie releases. Thanks!
Very well-maintained theater than anywhere else in the city! This theater has a reclining and heated on their seats. There is enough parking right next to the theater during weekends and evenings. Has nice little lobby in the front and concession stand that offers every movie-goers love to have, popcorn and fries!
Beautiful historic theatre, very lovingly restored and kept up. Love the bright, colorful Egyptian decor. The theatre is very clean and the staff friendly and enthusiastic about movies. Love all the legroom between rows. The bathroom is a tight two stalls but clean. We had no problem finding street parking for a midnight showing. Would love to come back. The ice cream shop next store is a great place to get a pre or post movie treat, and $1 off if you saw a movie that day. Also, it has a bubbler!
I absolutely love this cinema house, because they had leather cozy reclining chairs with cup holders. The screen is massive, and the theaters are all big. The speakers are not too loud. The snacks that can be bought here was good. The staff was approachable as well. I will definitely recommend this cinema house for everyone.
Came here with The Mandalorian and Star Wars Universe group via Facebook to see Rise of Skywalker. Had an amazing time, enjoyed the atmosphere. Vintage with a touch of Egyptian art Deco.Very clean and enjoyable, service is great here. Very expedient in the snack bar area and prices are lower than most theatres. The matinee screening was just $6.50!Cannot remember when it was so inexpensive. This place can take our monies.
Great staff. Nice to have movies on base again.
I liked the theater. I went there with Secret Movie in order to see The Dead Zone (at 12 am) and it was just wonderful. Egyptian theme inside, it is small and cozy. Very nice personnel.
Hard time to describe how awesome this place is. It was like stepping back in time to the things you loved the most. Employees were thoughtful and seem to care about guests... facility is fantastic really liked the legroom offered by not having a row in front of me...will come back again!!!
Lovely old theater Egyptian style inside. Plenty of leg room even if it is the old fashion chairs. Good surround system and discount prices if you go early.
Amazing place, It was worth the penny to come here.
Popcorn better than most movie theaters. An overall better experience than than the mega malls. Parking can be difficult, but the nice walk in this exquisite neighborhood is great way to reflect on the movie you just saw.
Comfortable seats, small-ish theater, welcoming atmosphere, and affordable food such a great cinema house. Too bad that this cinema house was so underrated. This cinema house is very perfect if you want to watch some classic movies. The staves here were very friendly and accommodating as well. A must-visit cinema house.
Sunset Tower is fantastic. Not only is it an institution, but the service is excellent, the views are fantastic, the restaurant is THE best, and they also have great room service. Excellent gym as well.
Shockingly this place is better now! Much cleaner, nicer people too! Hooray I can come back & watch movies in my neighborhood! Now lets start showing first run movies? Ok?
Tickets and snacks arent overly pricey. Excellent atmosphere. Be sure to get there early if youre going to Secret Movie Club screenings, they can fill up pretty quick.
Id never been to this theater before but my experience reflects a positive desire by management. I went to the theater to prepay for an evening show and was able to accomplish this with no trouble at all. However, later that evening my friend was in a car accident and unable to get to the theater. I showed up and after telling the manager my dilemma I was given a new set of tickets for another day. However, when I showed up to see the movie the actions of the staff negated the good from the previous day. It all comes down to running the establishment with the customers enjoyment as the primary reason for everything. I paid $6 for a small bag of popcorn and was told that the price of the popcorn included one refill (which offset the cost/small size). But when I went to the concession stand to get my refill the theater employee had already emptied and cleaned up the popcorn machine and told me I was out of luck.I know it was only a bag of popcorn but me and my 2 friends waited until the halfway point so we could enjoy a warm bag of popcorn... Not gonna happen. So this is a good example of how management can ruin goodwill by trying to close out prior to closing time... Oh and one more thing, the employee actually offered me, a bag of stale cold popcorn from yesterday. Yeah, thats what we were looking forward to... Thanks Vista
It is more than just going to the movies... It is a great experience. The theatre adds to ANY film and makes it more fun to view.
Wonderful local theater, always clean and matinee discount can’t be beat. Always fun to see the manager dress up opening weekend of movies. Ask for fresh popcorn
Its one of those classic old school theaters. Its not super big modern seating or anything like new theaters but its still pretty comfortable. Really cool looking though and the staff is super personable and friendly. Tickets are only $10 too, so thats a big plus.
One of the best examples of an old-school Los Angeles movie house, whos original construction predates the Golden Age of Hollywood. Currently under great 1st run management, and also partnering with the @SecretMovieClub for special engagements of classic film.Nostalgia & cinema at its best.
Quite possibly the best independently owned movie theater in the United States. Very reasonably priced playing first run and speciality movies at $6.50 for matinees and $10 for evening shows. They generally screen first run studio movies, independent fare, and have been hosting Secret Movie Club’s 35mm film series for morning and midnight shows. The theater itself is a gorgeously kept single screen with the Egyptian themed motif circa 1920’s. Not only do they screen in 4K and 35mm, but they also use REAL BUTTER for their popcorn. Cannot recommend this LA gem enough!
I love this theater. $6.50 for the first showing of the day, 2 dollars more for the rest of showings. Its only one screen and they usually play the new release of the week. No online purchasing so you might have to wait on a line, though I never myself I have seen one once or twice.
Nice little single-room theater. Staff is friendly but the popcorn could be better. Street parking can be tricky but its not impossible.
This is one of the great movie theaters in Los Angeles! Been around for a long time and was remodeled about 5 yrs ago; great seats with easy viewing of the screen and state of the art projection system; the staff us wonderfully and very approachable! Parking can be a challenge, but apparently everybody found a spot or came by drop off serviceThe popcorn is good and fresh, so its a destination you have to put in you must do book!
A very beautiful, clean Egyptian style theatre. It was clean and the staff was great. A wonderful intimate place to see something.
Classic theatre atmosphere. Elegant operation. Technically advanced presentation. Excellent experience.
A surprisingly beautiful and spacious house, does give off a nostalgic small theatre vibe with old Hollywood twist. Seating is great, and the price of admission hard to beat. A nice place to catch an indie film and to bring the folks for a family picture. Concessions are limited, but all you really need is popcorn and they got it fresh.
Love this theater! Feels like going been in time seeing a movie here. Their prices for tickets and concession stands are great too!
The Vista is a vintage theater thats been restored. Its a classic neighborhood single-screen theater with an old Hollywood Egyptian motif. The staff is helpful and the prices arent exorbitant. Its always a pleasure to see a movie there. Ive been going for about 35 years, since before it was restored. Its my favorite place to see a film, much more pleasant than the reigning multiplexes around town.
Love this old theater and how much room there is to kick back and enjoy great movies. Only one screen just the way I like it.
My favorite theater in L.A.: the ambience inside, the neighborhood, The Price, the quality for the price, and they always have the latest Marvel Studios film. Fantastic combo!!!
Beautiful historic theater with comfy seats & lots of leg room. Staff were very friendly & nice. No reserved seating & very long lines to get into theater, which seats about 400 people. Long lines for small restrooms & concession counter. Both too small for a large theater.
A beautiful theater, well preserved and well taken care of.It is a jewel in Los Feliz. It was wonderful to sit in a theater that wasnt sterile and wasnt plain. Just as much as the movie is art, so is this magnificent movie house. It was like transported to they heyday of old Hollywood.
I really like this theater. While it only has one screen, it plays new movies and the price is good. $9.50 which is a lot better than other theaters in the area. There are also a lot of leg rooms every row - like 5 feet worth. The interior design is nice with Egyptian schemes.
The audio was super loud and powerful. The seat rows are very wide, perhaps the widest I have ever seen. Exceptional movie theater experience.
Awesome cinema! Best leg room on earth. Great atmosphere. Unbeatable prices and quality in LA.
Love this venue. Beautiful deco/Egyptian decor. Nostalgia at its finest. It would be perfect if it had more bathroom stalls.
The theater shows artsy films and a few 1st run blockbusters. Its 1 of 2 theaters where people in the neighborhood can see a movie. It cramped and small but its there for the neighborhood not really for visitors or just out of the blue choosing to go there.
Went to see El Camino. Comfortable seats with plenty of leg room. Awesome decor and friendly staff.
This is a favorite movie theatre. Friendly staff, good popcorn, loads over leg room. And all of this costs less the than the other movie theatres.
Friendly staff and very good size movie screen. Very comfortable chairs.
This cinema is cozy to be in, with plenty of leg space, nice ambiance on the Egyptian decors, good vibes with the staff specially the friendly and welcoming character of the Manager Victor who is really into his passion for wearing costumes which matches the movie shown. Wide screen, very good sound system, cleanliness and very affordable ticket pricing are a plus. I highly recommend this place!
One of the historic and iconic LA cinema. Ticket price is affordable. Staff are great and helpful. The perfect theatre for a date night.
If you havent been here, get here! Even the back side seats have perfect sound. 8 ft. between rows. Erie Egyptian goddess peering out into the shadowed theater, amidst long red velvet adornments. Jewel box, box office! And next door, Super Cool Ice Cream is as good as the entire movie theater. Best show, best ice cream ever, even beats or wonderful Silver Lake gelato place, and thats hard to do!
Gotta love the theater atmosphere. Good theater thats been around for a long time you need to check out the architecture inside while youre there watching a movie and enjoy the sound and video quality that is A ++
Beautiful old theatre, with art deco lighting, motifs and sculptures. Comfortable old seats with really, wide rows. Sound may leave a little too be desired, but certainly one of my favorite art house theatres.
The Vista is my favorite theatre prices are low. The theatre is a big old building. The seats are spaced apart so you dont step on others. I saw once upon a time in Hollywood you have to see this movie especially if you lived here in 1969. This movie rewrites history and brings relief even if fictional
Great ambience! I dont think Ive been in a movie theater like that looking so authentic. Plus its nice how old fashioned it is showing only one film for a span of a month or so. Plus since I saw the Rise of Skywalker there the manager dressed as a stormtrooper which was a nice touch.
Great place to watch a movie! Friendly staff! Love this place!
Love this theater... best in la for being just a theater. The people are nice and you get the legendary fun of the manager who dresses up like characters in the movies.
I love going to this place. The establishment itself is pretty small, but the theaters are quite large and very clean. The screens are large as well. They serve the sweet popcorn like in Korea and the ticket prices are comparative to an AMC or Edwards. The best part is they play the current hit Korean movies with English subtitles! No more waiting for the DVDs to come out. Also, assigned seating, gotta love that!
This is one amazing theater. So glad this theatre is so well preserved.
Behind the ArcLight, this is one of my favorite movie palaces. The look and the vibe of the place is wonderful and I dont go there nearly as much as I should.
I thought it was a great theater experience in that it only runs one movie at a time. It definitely gives a throw back feel to how movies were experienced back in the day in true Hollywood fashion.
The best movie theater in Hollywood! Victor the manager is always super nice and the presentation is always spot-on. They removed a row in between each seat so theres the most leg room of any theater. The concession stand is also reasonably priced for a movie theater.Check out their midnight movies for a thrill.
Retro movie experience, it is awesome that they have kept the intros and the announcement from what looks like from the 70s. If you want to experience an old school movie going experience this is it. No tickets online, no reserved sitting, pop corn is great, seats have insane leg room, prices are incredibly low, screen size is decent, sound was a little bad for Mandy.
A great neighborhood theater and a superior viewing experience. Their popcorn is quite good, using real butter. And the seats are all comfortable and there is massive amounts of legroom. I couldnt recommend any theater more highly.
Did a great job!
Nice classic movie theater with a bygone luxury.
Great overall experience. Comfy seating, v.good popcorn. Great price. Friendly patrons and staff.
The only thing you can complain about here is parking. Everything else is something to rave about: great leg room, great screen view wherever you are, price on tickets and concessions, movie offerings and times. Everything is on point.Add great staff, wonderful fun events, and amazing location in the Silver Lake neighborhood. Can I give this a 7 star?
My favorite movie theater on the planet! Leg room rocks!
Terrific old theater, a real historical building. They have elliminated every other seat row, so now you can sit with way ample space for your legs. And the tickets as cheap as they get. Terrific bargain. Saw the film ROMA, there. A terrific movie night!!!
This theater is a very unique theater. While it has a tiny screen and marginal acoustics, it is all compensated by the fact that the theater is beautiful. I would never see a blockbuster at this theater, however maybe a b-list film where I am going for the experience and less for the film. Overall good theater, would recommend.
Vista Theatre entertains me alot and people are fantastic! Including the security guard
If its a big movie like endgame, youre going to have to wait in a line outside, not ideal for the summer heat. There is an Ice cream place next to it so thats good. Parking is questionable, but youll get around one way or another. The theatre itself is small, but it has everything you need, bathrooms, a place to buy popcorn and snacks, and a big ole screen with comfy chairs and a lotta leg space
Probably the best movie theater in LA. Definitely the prettiest room. And the lack of pretension helps attract a great crowd.
I lucked upon this when I was scrolling theaters in town and didn’t want to pay $18 for a matinee ticket. $6.50 was the cost at The Vista and what an awesome place it is! Great atmosphere, comparatively inexpensive concessions. What an awesome place to see a movie and support a non chain theater.
This vintage theater is charming not only because of its interior design but also because of the friendly service that you dont see among staff at large movie chains.
Awesome room to stretch out your legs, saw Star Wars here great sound system. Small theater so get there early to get in line.
Very great theater very great sound and lovely atmosphere decorations feels like very old school Los Angeles. There is a organization called the secret movie club that shows really great screenings here that I enjoy
What can I say about this place. Its the greatest Movie venue of all time!!
Awesome movie theater to visit
Parking is a nightmare, bathrooms are a bit hit/miss, but the theater is beautiful and I usually have a good time here.
If your visiting LA come to the vistaIf you live in LA come to the vista regularlyThis is not your normal movie theaterThe people are the best part - very enthusiastic friendly crowd and staff
What is your is pretty from the outside but Ive never been there.
This is one of the last of the great art deco movie theaters remaining in Southern California. From outside, it looks quite small; then you go inside and realize just how big it is. The sound system is modern, of course, and is terrific, but the interior looks probably the same as it did in the 1920s. Every seat has an amazing amount of legroom, the chairs are cushy and comfy, and the last time I went to a matinee I walk in with my usual big Aladdin mug full of lemonade and nobody seemed to mind. The only problem with this theater that I can think of is that it does not have a parking lot. Parking is very difficult in this neighborhood if you try to park on the street. Fortunately, there is a supermarket kitty corner to the theater. You can always take your chances parking there, and if you have a handicap placard – as I do – you don’t have to worry about being towed away. Otherwise, this is the nicest movie theater I have been to since the 1970s.
Great restoration of a old time theater.Great price for movies.Rocket-man
My favorite theatre! Theres only one showing at a time and enjoyed the experience of buying tickets through the front window, they had a welcomer dressed as one of the cast (a chimney sweeper from Mary Poppins). Definitely recommend!
This is the greatest movie theater ever. Tons of legroom for people who are tall like me and its just a beautiful place. Its appreciated if you like good architecture. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back. Worth the drive.
Absolutely Magnificent Decor, Service from the Staff is Ten Star Amazing!!! And the price to see New Movies in the Cleanest Theatre EVER
I went to see The Long Goodbye here. It was supposed to play on 35mm, but the print was too shoddy, so they ran it digital. Its a GORGEOUS theater. Inside and out. I struggled with the seats being too comfy as I was dozing off dont judge please, it was a midnight movie and I was sick! haha. Great theater
A completely restored theater from the roaring 20s, this theater is a GEM. I wont go to any other theater except here! I feel like Im going back in time, enjoying a picture like it was back then..the GOLDEN years of America....Before The Crash, hahaha!!!
I really love this historic movie theatre. Built around the discovery of King Tuts tomb, circa 1923,as a silent movie and Vaudeville house, it has an ancient Egyptian motif. Check out the campy box office, and the hand and footprints of recent film favs at the entrance. See movies the way they were made to be seen: in a big, old fashioned movie palace. Id give it 5 stars, but parking REALLY sucks, tiny side lot, some neighborhood space and meters. In 1923 a red street car use to stop outside, wish it still did!
Great Retro Egyptian-Deco style single screen theater right in Silver Lake! They always dress up in costume. See Star Wars ticket taker at the door.
A really nice old-fashioned theatre. Watched a beautiful old-fashion movie here. This experience is un-repeatable.
Its close and very reasonable prices. Nice theatre
Very nice old timey theater. Lots of seating, not all stadium. So glad I discovered this gem. Will definitely be going again for a special night out with the wifey. Audio and video was great. The seats were what to be expected of an older theater, but still comfortable enough.
