My son and I attended a taping of The Price is Right on February 25, 2020 and had a great time.I was a long-time fan of the show when Bob Barker was the host, but my son wanted to attend a taping now that he was old enough to attend, and I admit that I still had a great time.I appreciated the fact that we no longer have to line up at zero dark thirty and that the lines moved pretty quickly.Im still not a fan of Drew Carey, but the taping was fun and I would encourage you to attend if this is a bucket list item of yours as it was for my son (and me when I attended with my wife in 2005 and 2006 when Barker was still hosting). Have fun!
The Price is Right was SOOOOO much fun. But I think it depends on your personality. Theres a lot of clapping and cheering and smiling and being obnoxiously happy, which I fit right into. It says that youll be there for about 5 hours, which is true, but most of that time is the processing stage where you sign a form, wait, take pictures which cost $20 each, wait to be quickly interviewed by Stan (I forgot his title but he has some power in deciding who gets called down I think). For guests with disabilities, the process wont really start until after everyone else is processed. I use a wheelchair and they told me I could either transfer to a seat or stay in my chair, which I opted to stay in my chair. They played music for a while and people danced. They kept saying to be enthusiastic and you may get chosen or something like that, but I think thats just so they can get the shots they need cause there was a guy who was ON the entire time and didnt get called. And they only film for like 1 1/2 hours. It goes kind of quick once they start filming. And the set looks so much smaller in person. Make sure you use the restroom before they start filming cause even during breaks, they didnt let people go to the restroom. Also, I called ahead of time and got access to park in the parking lot on the CBS lot and even though I left my handicap placard at home, I showed them my disability ID and they let us park there for free. So if you do get access, make sure you have your placard. Overall, it was an awesome experience.
Easy to reserve tickets online. Very long process to get in, but worth it to be in the audience and have a chance to “come on down!” Definitely have a story or clever clothing to get noticed during the interview phase. Not fancy out fit needed- one person in my group who was called had a T-shirt with a crudely-written Sharpie message on it. It worked! Lots of takes to get the video taping right and as smoothly displayed as you see on tv. They take your phone before going in for taping. The retrieval process went smoothly.
It took basically all our day since we got there at 1pm and we really dont get in till 3:50 but other than that It was a good experience. I suggest being very bubbly, energetic and outgoing if you want to be seen! And good luck
Prepare for a very long day. The actual event it fin but there is an insane amount of waiting around. The criteria for getting picked seems to be a mystery. I honestly have no clue what the producers are looking for. It is way different being there than watching on tv. It is insanely loud. Most of the time you cannot hear a single word being said on stage. The names being called down are completely garbled though the din. They have to hold up name cards or the contestants would not be able to hear their names being called.I would go again but you really have to plan a full day around this one activity.
Price is right was awesome...And we got a free blender and $100 gift card each!!
I wish I could give them a 5-star rating if you like if you like waiting for several hours to get in before the taping. They do give you VIP service if youre handicapped very impressive the staff was out of this world but the people who were in lying they were very loud and they act like dummies or if I could be a little more simpler idiots I was telling the person who I was with Id name three or four people actually got on the show because they were the loudest.. but that what they want people to make fools of themselves.. when youre on the set it goes by very fast so thats nice if you dont mind a 7-hour experience I recommend it but if you do go get out of your comfort zone..
Having been to all kinds of TV tapings, I have to say these people treat me better than all the others. Drew Carey makes it a fun and interesting experience
Lots of fun but didnt get called
The process is on called for, but okayThey can make it easier and better for their audience.
Enter through the gate on the Fairfax side. Make sure to show up early and remember that they are always watching you, so if you want to get called to come on down! be sure to make an impression! Bring cash as the snack bar is cash only
Met Drew. Didnt get on the show but had a lot of fun. Very long wait, hours, but bench seating outside while you wait.
Its a lively taping and once inside its so much fun.
This is quite an experience. The 4.5 hrs of waiting is the only reason this is not 5 stars. We had line voucher tickets so no guarantee of getting in. Arrived at 7:30 for the 9:00 taping. We were probably 30th in line. They let the guaranteed vouchers in around 8:00 and we moved up to 7th in line. We got in no problem around 9:15. There are lots of steps in the process including signing your 5-pg waiver, getting green screen photo taken, being interviewed by producer, getting your phone taken and then a 1.5 hr wait. We were in the studio at noon and out just before 2:00. The seating is random so despite being 225 in line, we ended up in 4th row right next to where contestants that make it on stage sit afterward. The show experience was 5 star, phenomenal energy and non stop entertainment with Drew and George constantly talking to the crowd during breaks. It was a blast! Couldnt have enjoyed it more. People are having so much fun! Just know you will spend 4+ hrs waiting before getting in the actual studio. Highly recommend. Lifelong fan of the show. If you have guarantee tix I would not show up til 8:30-8:45 because of the random seating. Get your special tshirts in advance because there are no shops in the area but you can buy a show tshirt in the gift shop after you check in.
Nice experience but long process
