This movie house is clearer than others. They have a good selection of movies to watch which is all are updated. The place is very cozy and the seats are very comfy to sit on. The place is a little bit pricey but its well worth the money. I really enjoyed my experience here in this movie house. Highly recommended!

Been here several times for movie screenings, lectures, Q&As, and the historic tour. I highly recommend the tour, which happens once a months and lasts about an hour. Very insightful and you will get to see parts of the theatre the public doesn’t, such as the projection booth. Love the screenings put on by the American Cinemateque. Large clean bathrooms. Beautiful historic theatre. We always park at Hollywood and Highland mall parking.

I went to one of the best movie houses in town. The movies that I watched were all worth it and affordable. Also, I was blessed and happy enough that the staff accommodated me very well. From now on, I always appreciate the efforts of the staff that accommodated me and for coming here. If given a chance, I wanted to come back and watch a movie in your movie house. Thank you so much!

Despite the trouble I had parking I would highly recommend every one comes to this theatre at least once. It was the last movie Theatre Ive been too that made me feel like it was an event like it was when I was a child. I fortunately got to bring my family here and hope others will bring theirs because there is something about this place that makes you feel like youre at a movie theatre for the first time again.

Had a quick tour around this theatre. Very nice decor inside and out. It was sad knowing that some of the original architecture did not survive as it would be epic to see. The design is funky but as a cinema I feel like you would be sitting down and looking up to a screen ...maybe its different in the states compared to the UK as I am sure i.would get a sore neck watching a film looking up for a long time.

The iconic Egyptian Theater is located in the heart of Hollywood. I attended a movie premier here recently and was pleasantly surprised. The theater had plenty of seating but overall the venue was small and quaint. The concessions area was underwhelming yet perfect for what it was. The area outside leading into the theater was perfect for an event of premier as it offered a long corridor for a red carpet and photography.

Cool theater with lots of history. I think I heard that this theater is almost a century old. Thats really cool. But, Im rating this theater against other theaters and if it wasnt for the cool history, it would not even get 3 stars. The exterior area is filled with vagrants and homeless crowding up the street all along the Hollywood walk. They do not offer parking. The minimum local fee for parking is 15 dollars for the length of movie. Aside from paying, I had to walk through the crowd of misfits just to get inside. The ticket was another 15 dollars. So, for 30 dollars just to watch a movie in old seating and a dingy theater, even though its in Hollywood, is not something I would recommend. So, unless you have a very special reason for being here, I would go somewhere else to watch whatever you came for.

....... Very COOL theatre, and a Badazz theatre that Ive gone to off and on for the past 16 years. Its cool that The Egyptian is showing all three extended cuts of The Lord of the Rings films! They also do a PHENOMENAL job of keeping the theater very clean as well. Thanks a lot! (But of course they could put in new seats! The seats are incredibly uncomfortable, and just murder on the lower back!)

THE EGYPTIAN THEATRELos Angeles Historic Cultural Monument (LAHCM) #584 and Movie PalaceGraumans Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood was built by Sid Grauman and Charles E. Toberman in 1922. The duo went on to build 2 more Hollywood movie palaces, Graumans Chinese Theatre (1927) and the El Capitan Theatre (1926). Graumans Egyptian Theatre was designed by the architecture firm Meyer & Holler, the firm that also designed Graumans Chinese Theatre and The Hollywood Athletic Club.Charles E. Toberman is known as the Father of Hollywood in part due to his role in building many of Hollywoods most famous landmarks, including the Hollywood Bowl, the 3 movie palaces on Hollywood Boulevard, and The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.Graumans Egyptian Theatre hosted the very first Hollywood movie premiere, Robin Hood starring Douglas Fairbanks in October 1922.Beautiful, somewhat hidden, historic landmark of Old Hollywood. So glad that there are organizations like American Cinematique to restore it. Had to dock off a star from my rating of it though because the restrooms were filthy.

Last night, a man with a huge backpack rushed into our screening and sat down halfway through, clearly non-ticketed and acting fishy. He was not watching the movie after sitting down and he was carrying a bunch of stuff. This freaked a lot of us out in the audience and when we went outside to find staff, there was no one working!!!! No one checking tickets at the door, no staff around, it was a late showing and they all just left after getting people in! No security at all! Unfortunately with things going on in the world, this was obviously scary to all, especially since theres supposed to be a no large backpacks policy at theaters? We held our breath and when the lights went up the guy rushed out, mumbling. In the light, we could see all that he was carrying and we deduced that he was homeless. He was able to just wander into the theater without a ticket in the dark. This freaked us out completely and ruined the entire experience of a special 70mm screening for us.

Went there the other day to see Lawrence of Arabia in 70 mm. Well worth it! Great presentation. Enthusiastic staff. And the whole lobby had that old school single screen movie palace look.Though the theater itself was oddly built. The back rows are on the familiar slope downwards. But then you see the front half of the seats. Sloping upwards again to a screen that is so high up that only those in the row furthest back dont have to tilt their head backwards. It was fully serviceable from my seat. My eye-level was only slightly under the screen (about 1/3 into the lower part of the screen is considered optimum by many standards). But I really pity the patrons in the first half. Not only is the screen high up but the floor slopes in the wrong direction. So those viewers must have seen this epic wildly distorted. My recommendation for seats are the middle of row N. If the surround sound isnt important to you Id say walk higher up in the back for a more comfortable view.Apart from that and that I noticed the image was projecting about a foot or two into the lower screen mask Id hesitate no further in getting a membership but Im from sweden and wont be visiting LA often enough.

An excellent theatre! I just love this place. I have been here on many occasions to watch their classic films; most of them on 35 or 70mm the way there were meant to be seen. The exterior architecture is absolutely beautiful as well as the theatre itself. Very spacious and clean -- I believe a 600+ seater. They have a huge screen and great sound system. Come here to see a classic film. You wont be disappointed.
