Great all-around good time. Really the only true grindhouse in town. Many memorable nights here. Been floored several times screening rare films I may never have heard of, like Two Women, Paranoia and The Changeling. So leave your phone at home and kick back with a couple of tasty Okja dogs and let go ... to a glorious 35mm double feature.
First time going there for a 35mm screening of Badlands... and let me tell you I was able to forget the present and go back to the time where cinema was truly cherished as cinema. The engagement of the audience with the movie was truly special and brought unity as a whole. Right down to the grit and grain, the New Beverly is about as authentic as you can get. And I think that’s the magic that Quentin Tarantino wanted to bring to us as an audience.Mark it down on your bucket list. You won’t regret a single minute.
I always go to this movie house whenever I need to watch new movies. This movie house is very huge and very comfy inside. All of their staff are friendly, accommodating, and very polite. This place is very clean and well-maintained. They also have foods and snacks that are very tasteful and affordable. Highly recommended!
This is where we had our first movie-date with my partner! It was very memorable. We love here since then. Every time we wanted to watch a movie, this is our go-to place. The cinema was clean and tidy, and their seats were customized and updated. Their surround sound was the best and we like the most here.
Not only is the New Beverly Cinema absolutely gorgeous, but they offer a fabulous program of films and you get the wonderful ambiance of the New Beverly Cinema crowd. This is a great venue for a classic French film, a double feature, a 70 mm print, a gay film with a wonderfully emotive audience, a print from Library of Congress, a film festival screening, etc.I love getting to hear the organ music before the show. Parking stinks, but thats SF...
They had all of my favorites, like popcorn, nachos, candy, and ice cream. The cashier was very friendly and welcoming. Their chairs are clean and comfy, too. Midway the movie, I had to use the restroom and found it clean and well-maintained! I had never been to this movie theater before, and I was pleasantly surprised at what a hidden gem the place is. Its small but cozy and clean. I look forward to visiting here again!
It is always a pleasure to visit this cinema house. The staff was very accommodating and professional. Besides, the foods and the drinks that they served taste yummy and OK. Even the entire place of the cinema house was clean, comfortable, and big. It was truly worth it and satisfying to be here. Thank you so much!
This cinema is our only go-to whenever a new movie is showing. The one thing we loved about this place, aside from sitting near our place, is that this cinema was very clean, and having the best and most comfortable reclining chair. Their air-conditioned is perfect, too. Not too cold, bearable. I highly recommend this cinema to movie-goers out there like me!
Love this vintage theater. Cant wait till we can come back.
Excellent movie house in the town! All of their staves were very accommodating and friendly. The seats have individual armchairs that let you lay back and watch your favorite movie. I felt very comfortable on that day! A big hand to all of you! I will be introducing your movie house to all of my friends and family!
This is the best movie house I have ever been through. They have updated movies at very affordable ticket rates. The chairs and couches are very comfortable to use. They also offered food and drinks at a very affordable price as well. This is the best place to watch the latest movies together with your friends, loved ones, or others. Highly recommended!
Attractive movie theater outside. it is well structured and well planned. a great place to enjoy a movie away from the crowd. While watching movies, the snacks are very delicious. I recommend it to all movie addicts.
This is my friends and my favorite theater, more than Cinemark. I wish they had more screens because we would go here for every movie if so! Their food is great.
A must-visited movie house in town! This movie house is really great theatre to watch a movie. The screen is wide and the speakers were not too loud. The popcorn and hotdog were very delicious. The chairs were very comfy to sit on. The lady at the blockbuster was very kind and polite. Overall, it was a great cinema.
Tarantino did such a great job on this place. It’s so cool to be able to see films shot on film, and not only new movies, but old movies as well. The place is reformed, it’s also clean, there’s a bunch of options for drinks and snacks, the crew is amazing and very respectful. Also, there are some events that include Q&As after the movies with people that worked with Tarantino. Definitely a place you should go if you’re a film lover. Tickets are normal price.
A wonderfully restored and operational old movie house that has been updated for stage shows, concerts, lectures, and special presentations. This movie house is definitely a must-visit theatre in town. The place was so relaxing and warm. The chairs were so comfy to sit on. The staves were very approachable. I will surely visit this cinema house again.
If i could give this place 6 stars i would. Takes me back to when the silver screen was more than what it is today. I love coming here with the lovely old fashioned style of the place and the classic films. Also their price for snacks and tickets cannot be outmatched. Always a pleasure to come and never disappoints
Great staff. Nice to have movies on base again.
I enjoyed this theatre. The popcorn and other refreshments were fresh and treated great. The staff were very friendly. However, the seats are a bit tight but that is to be expected in a smaller theater. Overall, very good theater with great entertainment.
I really love this cinema! Its a special place where the patrons are clearly excited about the movies they are coming to see, and I love the whole aesthetic and energy of the New Beverly Cinema. It maintains some of the simple magic of going to the movies. As well, you can enjoy the snack bar here without taking out a mortgage - which is kind of a treat in itself!
This is a fantastic place for movie buffs. I love theaters like this. Theres interesting people to talk to before and after the feature. Every time I go here I meet some one cool! Its clean and comfy with a beautiful widescreen and killer sound. They show great classics, great kids stuff and Quentin movies all the time!
Visiting this theater was my #1 priority after I moved to Los Angeles a couple weeks ago. I finally stopped by for one of the carefully curated Cartoon Clubs, which featured some amazingly nostalgic and hilarious cartoons on 35 mm - as well as an impromptu lecture on cartoons from the 50s and 60s by a USC professor. Ill be back often and cant wait to see more of what QT has hand picked to be at the New Beverly.
Late night movies? Knowledgeable staff? Unique food and drinks? Curated films by one of Hollywoods elite? Yeah. Its the best. Make sure you check out the New Beverly whenever youre in town.Watching cinema with a passionate audience in a comfortable environment eating delicious food. Whats better than that?
Very comfortable atmosphere. I really enjoy this theater.
This theater was the best until Once Upon A Time In Hollywood came out and became the only movie they show at night. We used to go every week, but can’t see movies at 2pm because we are people with jobs. I liked that film, but now I think it sucked the life out of what made this theater special. A real shame.
Loved it here. Very clean and the food and drinks were fantastic. Easy parking too. Staff and management here seem happy to share their experiences with films theyve seen that were screening too. Great place if I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
If you like classic films only shown in 35 mm print theatre format then you should experience this. Even the popcorn is good and use real butter. You cant beat the reasonable matinee prices either. I highly recommend for an awesome time. This is where I wanna be every Wednesday afternoons. Please support and preserve!
This place is great! The staff are fun and friendly, the tickets are cheap, and the popcorn is too good to be true. Watching a movie there is a relaxing experience. Perfect to go with family. From the looks of the programming they also have kid friendly shows as well as stuff like Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction. Also, the butterscotch root beer is AMAZING. You must try it.
New Beverly Cinema is one of my best place for entertainment. We are twenty plus gang who always loved and our first preference to watch film none another than New Beverly Cinema. I recently went there and this place remains same. Be it cleanliness and food.
Great cinema with a small, personal vibe with one screen and everything being compact. Amazing films being showcased with the occasional Q&A by cast and crew. Highly recommend, great job Tarantino!
Thia is one of the best spots in LA to catch a double feature of great films. Now owned by Quinton Tarrintino it makes it even more unique.Greatest place to watch, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Cozy little theater takes you back to yesteryear and a simpler time. Just watched Howls Moving Castle on actual film and could not have been happier with a bag of popcorn and some soda and feeling like a kid again. Cant wait for another Saturday matinee.
Excellent. Singing in the rain was super. Popcorn was great too. Easy parking in the neighborhood. Might have to walk a few blocks. Suggest you get there early. Theater was almost sold out.
Awesome staff and the concessions are better than most retro movie theaters. Small theater but always some great, hard to find movies showing, one of my favorite spots in town.
This is how regular moviegoers experienced movies & film back when there were few frills, luxuries and far fewer microwavable dinners that modern audiences have come to expect. HAH!. its great that theaters like this are still standing or find renewed life.
Its always pleasing seeing culture kept alive, but frankly there are plenty of cinemas which show classic films and which are preserved which are in far better condition. Historic doesnt have to be tatty.
Old east coast candies, popcorn made with real butter, and really fair prices. Oh! And the sodas?! One of my.favorite theaters ever. Oh and its owned by one of the best directors of our time.
Great little theater, intimate setting, a movie lovers delight. Tarantino owns this theater, so expect anything but average films. Street parking available. Fridays have great 35mm features!
Such a fantastic cinematic experience the movies are screened with 35mm reels. Wonderful and really reasonably priced.
Small neighborhood movie house is now one of L.A.s hidden treasures. This is the place to go for old movies. Classics of the past and cult favorites. Many special nights you dont want to miss out on, so keep checking their schedule. Many times they have special guests. The presentation is old school, with short subjects before the main feature and the only commercials are for the snack bar like the ones they used to have at the drive-In. Sometimes they have a double feature, now a rarity. If your a movie fan, check this place out. Prices are reasonable at the snack bar.
So happy to have seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood at Tarantinos own cinema. Great atmosphere for that kind of event cinema. A Hollywood gem!
The New Bev is awesome. Great movies played on 35mm prints, including many not on disc or streaming. The theater is great in regards to presentation and the snack bar is always full of tasty treats.
New Beverly Cinema showed Die Hard on Christmas Eve 2019. Ive seen Die Hard a million times but seeing it after all these years in a sold out theater was cool! Great to hear people cheering and laughing at my favorite scenes. New Beverly Cinema is an old school theater that plays movies on film. The theater screen is smaller than some of the bigger chain theaters and the seats are also old school. Theater is owned by legendary filmmaker and icon Quentin Tarantino! On the concession stand the drinks are listed under Tasty Beverages Ticket price was $10 for this movie @ 2PM so that is probably a matinee price. Check before you go. Concession prices are reasonable for a movie theater.I havent figured out parking for this theater so plan to be early to find a spot. Its a busy area of Hollywood and most street parking is metered and one to two hours max. I parked down the street a ways in a 2 hour spot and it was $3. I had to leave to move and feed the meter. Hopefully Ill get there earlier next time and find a lot. If you uber problem solved. I love movies and have for as long as I can remember. Going to this theater is like going back in time. I cant recommend it enough.
I love their selection of night movies! It also owner by Q Tarantino! Did you know that!?! CRAZY!! Thats why I love LA!
This place is the best. They have 60s consessions from the snack bar for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. If you have a chance to see the movie here do it because QT made a special intro thats only playing here. I cannot say enough good things about this place
I have seen so many great movies there, always a pleasure.
Great time! Love seems ng things on film and crew and manager were.fantastic.
35mm films. No cell phones allowed. Awesome concessions.Incredibly polite staff! Not just a movie. An event!
Great revitalized old theater showing film-only movies. Went for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, they also showed old movie trailers, had candy and soda from the 60s. Great experience and super reasonable prices too.
Best theater in LA! Shows tons of classic films, along with double features, midnight movies, and kids matinees. Tickets are a bargain and the snack bar is cheap too. No trip to Hollywood is complete for me without catching a flick at the New Bev!
Lovely theater for a night out. But why do they show so many Quentin Tarantino pictures? (ha ha)
A freaking classic. Not sure if I need to say more. First come first serve seating. Cheap refreshments. Cool staff. Its possibly the best theatre in LA to watch a 35mm on.
Cool spot to watch a 35mm Tarantino flick. Saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and they did a great job bring on the nostalgia. Felt like 1969....Lets hear it! Ronnie Mund..., 69!
Affordable concession stand, frozen junior mints, and some of the most outstanding programming in all of los angeles. Easily my favorite place to spend a day off.
Nice little niche theater. The vive feels good and youre always enjoying a film with people who are fans of whatever particular film theyre showing at the moment. My only negative would be the seats, just a little to cramp for my taste but I am big dude.
Such a great time machine. Even the popcorn smells better at this single screen gem. The movie experience the way it still can be.
Thanks, QT, for making it possible for me to see FILM prints of classic FILMS. Have you considered converting New Bev into a charitable organization so that you dont have to pay a tribute to scumbag politicians to operate? You need to capture your positive externalities.Anyone who gives this place anything but a five star review is a lunatic.
Everything I’d hoped for. Delighted to spend some time here.
My absolute favorite place to watch a film in L. A. Best popcorn as well.
This is an invaluable contribution to the world of cinema and the preservation for its integrity. Very fitting that a film purist like Quentin Tarantino is its owner and ensures a tight ship is run. Films from many decades of yore are shown with the genres being multivaried. The fact that actual millimeter film is used is an incredible bonus. You can tell this isnt a cash grab machine but truly a labor of deep love to upkeep cinematic tradition alive and well in a dark age of digital over saturation. Highly recommended.
Great movies. Affordable. Cool vibe.
Perfect cinema. Would watch anything here.
The place is nice. We did see Once upon the time in Hollywood there, which we did not think was the best of Tarantinos but it was so well received by the crowd there that it did look that there was some people who may have had biased in their opinion of the movie for their own motives....
The only place in the world where you can see one of Quentin Tarantinos movies on film in his theater without going to his house. The worlds Premier director has his own theater, and you can go there and watch movies exclusively shown on film. It does not get any better than this.
Nice spot for cinema lovers and filmmakers ️ Thanks, Quentin Tarantino!
I came out to L.A from MN for the release of Tarantino’s new movie “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood”. While I was not able to see the film there due to its pre ticket sales sweep, I was able to catch The Aviator, and still enjoy a great theatrical experience.I work at a big corporate movie theatre back home, and this theatre is everything I wished movie theatres could be. No loyalty programs, no reclining seats it’s just a simple theatre that shows an audience how movies are meant to be seen in a theatre. They show every movie on celluloid (film) and everyone is just happy to be there!Prices are extremely good! A large pop and soda together came to $9. Back home that would be $15-20 depending on the day.Another thing that caught my attention was most everyone there knew each others name. That’s incredible! If you’re a movie lover, an admirer of what movies are meant to be then this is the place for you!Thank you New Beverly for an incredible experience, hopefully I can make it back some day!
This movie theater is great. The tickets are affordable and the snacks arent expensive
Nostalgia filled classic cinema experience with well curated monthly screenings. Experience vintage Hollywood in one of the best locations in L.A.!
Been here several times and always have a great movie experience. Definitely a theatre for movie lovers. Great prices. Friendly staff. If you’re lucky, Tarantino might make an appearance. When we went to a midnight screening of the Blues Brothers, Tarantino was there AND he surprised us all by introducing Dan Aykroyd, who talked about the movie for a bit and then watched with us. Amazing!
A great retro cinema with a lot of great condiments on offer!
Always a good time at an affordable price.
Fantastic movie selection of all the classics. Fun vibe, reasonable prices.
Winsome, clean and affordably priced revival house. It was my first seeing a movie here. It was from 1940 by director Dorothy Arzner. We ate popcorn, 2 hot dogs (one vegan) and a soda for $12. What a treat! I cant wait to watch a Steve McQueen movie there.
Amazing staff and awesome movies ️ one of my all time favorites
If you go in with the expectation that youre in for a good, fun, time, then thats exactly what youll get. If you go in expecting to be marveled by the greatest theatrical experience of your life, then youre probably better off with a nightcap and early bedtime.New Beverly preserves what originally made going to the movies fun - cheap theater food, enthusiastic audience, laid back atmosphere - in addition to showcasing 35mm editions of classic films youre unlikely to see anywhere else. Thank owner Quentin Tarantino for preserving a gem of a time capsule of movie history.
Great old school theater. The seats are not wide people friendly though, neither is the bathroom.
Amazing old school movie theatre! If you are a fan of classic movies, this is the place! Especially, if you are a Tarantino fan (hes the owner)! All movies are straight from Tarantinos film collection. The seats are not reserved and the concession stand is all based on the 60s. Its a place for you to go back in time!
Old school charming and fun.
The New Beverly Cinema is about celebrating the golden age of movies and the medium that made them a success: Cinema. The dedication the new Bev crew has, is a must-experience for any movie or cinema fan. They even use retro trailers and ads alongside to their classic picks. What an experience.
Great, intimate movie experience. And the retro vibes and Tarantino influence are the cherry on top.
An intimate venue. Along with the American Cinematheque the New Beverly is the absolute finest theater in LA! Great sound system, beautiful prints complete with modern yet old school setting.
This is a historical landmark all movies are shown in film the concessions stand had a wide variety of drinks and food the restroom were kinda small but thats due to the fact of its age suitable for handicapped the staff was all so friendly an parking was not to bad parking meters an a parking lot near by they let people in about 30 minutes before so try an get there early an no reserve seating
Many ways this theater could be improved, but Im glad its there and you should support it
Great concessions! Tarantino knows his movies.
