I had a blast at The J Spot Comedy. My friend comedienne Ms Arkansas was on the line up along with several other talented artist. I was laughing all night. Hanging out with friends in the VIP section was especially an extra added bonus. Although the kitchen was closed when I arrived, the service was awesome with regards to our drinks. Im not much of a drinker but I can say that the Cadillac margarita I ordered wasnt shy on alcohol and was delicious(although I didnt finish it) After the show we took lots of pictures on stage.The J Spot is great when celebrating a birthday...and on this occasion our host Mr. Evan Lionel called someone who was celebrating a birthday up on stage and made the announcement and even had someone sing her a very special happy birthday along with the rest of us in attendance...how fun..she even got her birthday dance on.. With comedic banter and audience interaction the laughter never stopped. Over all its a friendly environment with really cool played back people just out to have a good time.Since it was my first time I depended on my dear Google Maps to get me there..which was perfect..just be ready to turn in fairly quickly as not to miss your turn in to the lot. On that note..once I did pull in..I wasnt quite sure how to get to it as its located on the 2nd floor..which you can see however knowing where the stairs are wasnt completely visible from my position. Luckily I was able to call the venue and someone promptly answered the phone and had a security guy come and fetch me. Stairs were located just to the left when looking at the building..just a tip for first timers.Parking was adequate and I was able to quickly find a parking spot even though the lot is shared with several other businesses and the J Spot was just about packed. Very goodbecause some venues dont have enough parking and you have to park in the street..since I was coming all the way from Huntington Beach it was nice to have good parking. Over all I recommend going there to see some comedy and get your laugh on. Also all seating had a good angle for seeing the stage as its quite an intimate spot but still not to small. The perfect set up.

Came here for a date and honestly was such a great show! We had about five comics give their sets and each was so unique in their delivery and humor style. The venture isnt super huge but there were definitely enough seats for all of us. There was also a bar to get drinks at and bathrooms on the second floor. After the show, you can mingle with the comics and take more pictures which is super low key and fun. Would come again!

The food and service is excellent. J Spot is known for their Black Stand Up Comedy Shows. They also have a Patio. The J Spot is great place for Private Parties or just to get a good laugh!

Pretty good spot. The comics were really funny the staff was really nice. Only thing I wasnt too happy with was my drinks. Im pretty sure there was absolutely no alcohol in my drink. With a 2 item minimum they could at least make a good drink. Most likely was just sipping margarita mix.

J Anthony Brown made an appearance! It was a small intimate setting and there were different levels of funny with each act. As usual there was a 2 minimum drink.

Always a good time at this local comedy club. Great service, nice food and drink options. Just a great time overall.

I came here with my Boyfriend a couple weeks ago. We great a great deal through Groupon. The comedians on the night were absolutely hilarious. The drinks were also really reasonably priced and they definitely know how to make a great cocktail. Ill be back here again without a doubt!

Good laughs, Great tacos!!! 1st time experience was great. My son won a bottle of champagne during a raffle. Im just waiting to see the pictures of that moment. Also, we took a picture with the Living Legend J Anthony Brown.

Creative but overpriced cocktails and food.Entire menu is presented, but not available during all shows.Food service was so slow. We ordered at the beginning of the show and didnt get our food until the second to last comic was on stage.The bathrooms are terribly smallStaff is so overwhelmed we didnt have to buy the 2 minimum drinks.

J Anthony is a true professional. I have been enjoying him for years. So it was no secret that while I was in town (San Diego) and heard he was performing, I took the drive to Los Angeles and as usual he did not disappoint! Food and drinks were awesome.

We were in town for an end of year trip. We discovered, last minute, that Ray Grady was performing so we ordered our tickets and tried the j spot out. The security and staff were pleasant. The food (lemon pepper wings, fries and chicken tacos) was really good. I drank the tropical martinis and they were all very good. J Anthony did a walk through and greeted the guests. The waitress was pleasant, but seemed overwhelmed, especially at the end of the night when we were paying our bill. When we visit LA again, we plan to look the j spot up.

Awesome experience. J Anthony Brown was a spectacular host, delivering tons of hilarious improvisations. Would highly recommend the experience for anyone that enjoys genuine laughter. Outstandingly unique menu and professional staff. Will definitely be returning soon.

First time in LA since I was a kid. Stopped by and watch Earthquake. He had us in tears. We had the chicken wings and a few drinks.I had the wings with the MoFo Hot Sauce. The food go to us very hot.J Anthony Brown was there and was very friendly. He also made himself available to for pictures after the show. He acknowledged the out of town visitors.If you are ever in the area. You should stop by!Reasonable admission price for what you get the entire night.Staff was very friendly.

The atmosphere was a little different than when I was there 5 years ago. But the comedians were hilarious, the food was excellent, and the drinks were strong. Mixed feelings about the dancers...some were excellent, some need more practice. Overall my party was a success!

Ive been to the J Spot a few times and after tonight, Im never going back. The first few times the kitchen had been closed where there was no serving of food, but when its open it takes almost an hour for food to be served. What determined my last visit was the two drink minimum policy that is not made clear and also not applied to everyone. I paid for two orders of food and two drinks for me and my guest and was told that I had to purchase to more drinks. The waitress went on to say that she would give the pass of two drinks for my third guest who order nothing. How do you think thats a curiosity to me for now having to pay for four drinks and I bought dinner? Thats BS and to top it off, the waitress was not friendly, but yet theres a mandatory 15% gratuity. I will never go back, nor recommend this place to no one.

I don’t know about the other nights, but the selection of comedians last night were rude, unimaginative, and relied way too much on the audience to get cheap laughs. Most of the jokes were either degrading to women, embarrassing audience members, or making fun of things such as homosexuality and women not catering to men’s sexual desires. And if you didn’t laugh at their tired jokes, they made the audience feel bad about it! It felt like all the little jerk boys in middle school who bullied and made fun of people got the idea that they were funny and want us to pay them to tell their juvenile jokes on the stage. I hope whoever chooses the comedians for this club, and the comedians for that matter, realize that being an a-hole does not equal funny.

Great location. The greeting @ the door by security man was warm n nice. Lady w/ticket was very professional as well. I was by myself n my waitress Mieka made me comfortable. The food n drinks were wonderful. Comedy was good. J came over personally his self to ask if I was ok. I was so stressed but, when I got there to hear laughter it was perfect evening. Thank j spot!

Had a great time! Dont like the 2 drink minimum as I dont drink! I ordered drinks for my friends though. Thought that would count since I was the one paying! I also ordered a $40 platter of food. Should have covered the 2 drink minimum right? I ended up ordering another drink..for someone else. When I paid the bill I was expecting change based on the bill and what was given! The waiter told me that there was only $4 change! Where did you go to school? If my bill is $88 and I give you $100 thats $12 left. I was going to give him a tip AFTER I got my change back. Not before..smh my friends did the tipping needless to say after that! Other than that the entertainment and atmosphere was great!

Its black owned least thats what the name implies if you know who J Anthony brown is. There is a two drink minimum. Usually you gotta pay to get in. Parking lot super small. The food was decent after you get finished paying for everything if you not going to see the strippers you looking at a 60 dollar night. Which is not bad for a night of entertainment.

Had a great time and getting to see JAnthony and the surprise visit from Stevie Wonder added some WOW to the night!!

I had a good time here, I didnt try the food but the cocktails were made very good. The comedy show was outstanding. Ill be back for sure.

Tacos were reasonable and drinks good. Lots of laughs and fun. Supporting black business is a must. Come out and experience Taco Tuesday.

The staff was great, I didnt have to wait long for my food or drinks. The service was quick even though the place was packed.

I had 2 non alcoholic beverages. 1 with cranberry and ginger ale and the other with pineapple & other fruit juices that was delicious. My friend had some chicken wings that was very undercooked that had to go back.

The comedians do their best plus the food is good and drinks are reasonable. Parking is super easy btw.

The food was horrible. It taste really old. The drinks were really good. The comedians were really funny and the dj played really good selections.

I really like the experience of good food and comedy. Tonight for some reason the food was better then the comedians.

$100 spent and no one was funny. Wait the last young lady that came out for only 3 minutes was the only one that made people laugh. They should have brought her out from the start. Everyone else was too drunk to understand.

There were 6 comics, only one was horrible. The Headliner Ray Grady is funny as heck! Knowing he was up next after that horrible person before him, made it worth sitting thru it! Food is reasonably priced... however a 2 drink minimum is robbery.

Enjoyed the comedians. Stevie J and Kevin Tate are hilarious. There was another guy hosting but I dont know his name. He was funny as hell too!! I visited LA with my husband for our anniversary and ran across the JSpot. If youre ever visiting LA and looking to laugh until your stomach hurt, this is definitely the place! You WILL NOT be disappointed. I was a little bummed J Anthony wasnt there, but maybe next time!

Generally.. this spot is really hot.. and still is.. but last sat night Host was Horrible and not FUNNY at All.. and instead of engaging with guests.. constantly talking about them.. and I quote were here to be entertained .. so please.. tell the jokes and give ur audience what they came and paid to see!! .. still a great spot.. wait for higher profile celebrities to come..

Clearly my experience was not a good one and I have been to the club on several occasions what killed for me right off the bat was the initial experience at the door and a bouncer who was abrasive and rude who would not readily get managment to help. It was an insulting experience and just as another review stated its about nickel-and-diming not the quality of a Comedy experience additionally on a business level complete disrespect

Came to do standup and the legend himself was there and showed mad love!!! Plus I rocked the house! The service was good and the energy was positive!!!

Great comedians. Admission resonably priced but drinks will get you.

I was pissed I had to pay $20 to get in on my birthday and I got there 10 minutes after the time for free and I still had a two drink minimum and there was an empty place it was crazy. One thing I can say though when I got woozy over them strong Long Island Iced Teas they took good care of me got me some air and escorted me to my car and made sure I had a ride home.

First was greeted very nice even waitress took a while but was very polite and kind shout out to them and the j spot nice and clean and i must not forget the catfish dinner i think we.paid $13 $14 for it but it was. Delicious and hot and presented very pretty and pleasing. To the eyes thank you jspot now the comedies were so good we Acually had to have napkins to dry the funny tears.so thank you for letting me share and not 1 comedian all of them were great and they didnt have to use the audience to make us laugh we laugh so hard and it felt so good

Loved this place!!!Staff drinks and food was great especially the spinach dip. Had a lot of well know comedians. Laughed until I cried. Had an amazing time.

The Comedy was Great But I cant say the same for the Food and length of time it took to receive it!!!

OMG! Service was the absolute worst!!! Over 3 hours to get my food. I saw folks who had already eaten their first order and received a second order before me. The show started and I couldnt even focus and enjoy it because I was so hungry!!! A few members of our party actually left because of the service. I Paid $20.00 to see the show and it was substandard until Scruncho came on. By then my 2 tiny turkey tacos arrive and life returned to normal. Needless to say, Im done.!!!!
