We had a great time here! Casual date with nice ambience. We see a lot of comedy and were kind of nervous about the quality of the show but we saw a really solid line up. There were a mix of newer comics and seasoned ones and they were all good. Overall, great time, affordable, and fun! Definitely a fun thing to do when visiting CA or if you live there.
This is such a great deal! Super cheap, all the comedians were funny, fun small theater. We had a great time. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone (over 18- the comedy is very adult in nature) in the area and would definitely go back. Keep up the good work!!!
I had no intentions of, you know, substituting the show for an actual therapy but I must say, it feels almost as good, and definitely cheaper. Great people and great crowd too! They are there four days a week so dont miss a chance to see it. Will be back again!
Hysterical. Small venue with a great vibe. Awesome hosts. Incredible value. Tickets can sell out quickly so buy early. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Cant wait to go back!
Loved the show! There were many different comedians and the variety was refreshing. The comedians had kind of a tough crowd- all couples, but each of them held their own. Thanks for a great date night!
Sweet little spot tucked in CA - The majority of the comics were hilarious, one guy was a little off that night, but the rest made up for it. We were doubled over much of the show. Great job. Well be back. Also, cute little bar downstairs to grab a drink before or after.
Had such a good time!! It was my first time going to a stand up comedy club so I didnt know what to expect. The comedians were so funny and kept me laughing the whole time!! Will definitely be back soon
We finally got tickets to Cheaper Than Therapy and boy was it worth the wait! Theyre absolutely hilarious, the best standup Ive been to here in the bay area! Definitely make your way there.P.S Heckling is not cool. Its rude af.
So glad we booked this on a whim and rocked up! A cool intimate and of course hilarious experience . Also a good opportunity to support small theatres!! Love love love this place . Highly recommended!!!!
All of the comics were funny and entertaining. Id definitely come back the next time Im in Los Angeles.
Such a great moment, intimate theatre & amazing comics, take your tickets you will have a fun night!
Nice space. Show was both free and good.
Have gone there 3 times to watch UCLA Rapid Fire Perform and it has been a great experience each time! It is an intimate venue which leads to a greater improv experience!
It was really nice to find a free improve show in LA same day. My wife and I easily found parking right across the street. The show was just not very entertaining for our liking. Watching improve is very impressive though.
Its a really tiny space. You literally walk into the show. Its great for those who want to begin a career in stand-up comedy or just practice their craft of improvisation. They offer all types of classes at different levels and have a open mic on Mondays with no cover starting at 9pm. Also no drink minimum which is great! I went on a Monday and was greeted with an array of talent. Some funnier than others but overall a good time especially since there is no cover. They do accept donations at the end of the show, so show some love. Its unpretentious and super casual.
Little space, kinda a tight fit but I loved it. Go there if you can.
My name Hasan Sehji, did stand up today here... was fun, enjoyed other comics too
The improv space has great potential for a college intro to comedy and improv. I have owned many cafes and spaces for electronic djs to experiment and try out their craft in a friendly art loving environment. But, if I was a young comedian or improv enthusiast I would stay away from the karma of this place. To whit I would call it a space where white privileged UCLA students go to shake out their sometimes poorly executed jokes that just arent funny or smart in not a friendly environment unless the let you in to their boys club. Which should be the anethesis of any good feeder comedy club. But in this case it has been infiltrated by white-boy funny sometimes regulars who may have a few jokes, may have some stage presence, but just do not have the will or auro of goodness to sell their comedy to the devil or to Jesus for that matter. My expeeice there the frst three times was ok, it was the last time, that showed its heart beat. I arrived with a friend who has booked a 630 slot to 800 to do a podcast with @lahnaturnerr an incredibly funny professional comedian and wife of @ralphiemae . The interview went a little late and ran into the open mic. The host @podcastbrother apologized and offered to any of the open micers to record them if they wished as they did their sets for the inconveniences. Typically an amazing offerring for any up and coming artist. Instead what happened was 5 to 6 headliners none of the level of lahna started insulting the presence of lights, camera action. Their elitism, none of it deserving other than being a known person at the space. Their insults, thrown at the hosts, were so unprofessional I thought I was teaching bulky little white kids in Scottsdale Arizona in the 70s again. Even then being a Mexican gay guy I would shut those children down hard. But these being adults I looked in shock, dissapointment and wondered, comedy is not kicking your fellow comedian in the face so that you can look like a champion. If thats what made some of the comedians great in the past or present it surely will not be comedies future. The improv space a what could be a great space infiltrated by elitists who are yet to have made it but with an attitude that lacks inclusion. My conclusion? Stay away there are bigger spots with bigger hearts which care about new comedians craft. Thanks @lahnaturnerr for giving us an amazing chat about comedy, your evolution as a comedian and sharing your personal struggles with the loss of your childrens father, @ralphiemae @michaelpinacomedian @podbrother
It was a great venue and the staff was super nice and guided us through the process. Overall a great experience.
A small place with a stage and chairs but its a lot of fun to be there. People walking through the streets can see through the glass walls and see the performers as well.
Its funny.
The shows are often free for charity. A variety of programs rotate throughout the week, including open mic. The comedians are hit and miss, which should be expected. The space is rather small and limited.
