Great public course that the Century Club uses to host the Mayor of Long Beach golf tournament every year. Near the Long Beach airport and the freeway so its very accessible to wherever you live or stay. Since its a public course it wont kill you in the pocketbook. Nice little bar and restaurant in the clubhouse too.
Had a 3:00pm tee time didn’t tee off until 3:45. Pace of play was bad. Didn’t get to finish the round, ended on 15. Course condition was great just need the staff to be more organized, seemed like it was all their first day.
Great course. Great price. Slow greens. I drive from LA to play here.
Golf course in decent shape. Greens lightly punched and sanded, but rolled pretty nice. Fairways decent. Pace of play excellent. Just over 4 hours. Bathrooms on course closed. No good reason for this. No trash cans on course. Also for no good reason. Dirty thruout and trash overflowing in clubhouse bathroom. Definitely needs some custodial attention.
My first time here. Big beautiful place...but fair warning to those who enjoy a more relaxed game of golf, this place may not be for you. Some people here behave like A-holes and get upset if not playing at their pace and complain to management. I spent too much money to be here and not be allowed to enjoy myself.
Great place to golf, I went out at 5:30 and was able to get 9 holes in. 2 tough par 4 holes on the front nine
Always a good golf course. But this time the course was very yellow and every T box was saturated and muddy.
The facilities and equipment are outstanding and I definitely will be utilizing this location as often as possible.
Pretty easy access; course, except bunkers, in pretty good shape.
Challenging and fun course but bring your sand wedge.
Paradise on earth haha ... its an excellent place visit it
Great local public golf.
Love good Greens & firm fairways
First time playing here. Pace of play was better that I heard/expected 7:00AM tee time on a Sunday. Staff was good. Food and beverage service was good. Course was fun and in good condition but I would be disappointed if it wasn’t based on the green fee.
I like the Course but its. to expensive
Today was only the second time I ever played this course. The first time was more than 15 years ago. I realized why I hadnt played it for such a long time and its because the condition is quite bad. I give it a couple of stars since it has a little bit of characteristics, some undulations, and some thinking needed to avoid some water and the sand traps that protect the greens. The fairways were in a horrible state, dead so hitting them is no reward because its like hitting hard pan all day long. For what they charge, youd expect more. But it is a municipal course so too much play happens here. Lets see what the conditions are in about 15 years from now. Good luck playing.
Sweet course! Very well keep....
The course is in very good condition. One of our foursome didnt show but they let is play as three without making us into a fivesome. Pace was good for a Sunday, but this may be attributable to the fact that they are a little pricey on weekends compared to other courses nearby; $80 each with a cart. Lakewood and El Dorado nearby are busier but may seem more reasonably priced.
Skylinks is another great Muni in southern California. Greens are usually always in great shape in put true. It is a parkland layout with some challenging holes. One of my favorite layouts for a muni. Tee boxes can be a little on the thin side due to the amount of play it gets. It is very uniquely close to the Long Beach airport and a small aircraft fly over several times an hour. This is a must try if youre in the Long Beach area. It can be very busy and extremely slow. Well over 5 hour rounds close to 6 hour rounds is almost the norm nowadays. Early birds can play quickly. And it is one of the more expensive golf courses in the area. Nice practice area couple of putting greens in the driving range his decent
Open fairways reachable par 5s.. Greens were fast but enjoyable course..
Lots of spots at the driving range, but it closes at 6pm. You cannot find hours anywhere, staff wasnt particularly helpful.
Great course. Well kept.Greens are tough too read.
Its hit and miss. Sometimes play is on pace and conditions are good. Most times its really slow (5-6 hrs) and conditions are questionable at best. Although I enjoy playing here, it really bugs me when I go and its slow and conditions are bad. Always ask if the greens are good. Theyll book you and you wont know your playing on sanded greens until you reach the 1st hole green.
To GM of the courseExtremely disappointed about the condition of the course. All fairway are flooded with lots of water standing everywhere and you allowed people to come and play golf in this condition. We started at 6:30AM and each one lost at least 6 balls in the water in the fairway. That is not right we play all the time and you have bad rain and the course is full of water you should not allow people to play . Who wants to go to golf course full of standing water? Would you play ? This was very bad judgement allowing people to play under this condition .
They have one of the best driving ranges in Long BeachPlenty of room. The course is Beautiful and in great shape.
Had a nice little Christmas party for our facility. Nice experience for my first time at this venue.
Wonderful public course with fantastic water features.
As good as winter golf can be. Aggressive winds keep you on your toes, but allowed for a very quick and enjoyable round.
This course is usually good all the year round. But it beats almost all the courses in sizzling Summer. Even though it is around 100 degrees so its almost impossible around Inland area? you canPlay here.
My wedding was last Thursday, and I honestly am going to do my best to describe how amazing this venue was but words truly aren’t enough. From the very beginning when we toured the venue Brooke and Diana were an absolute pleasure to talk to. They both were so excited and enthusiastic about making my day as special as it should be. We weren’t even done touring all the venues we were going to look at but after meeting with Brooke I knew Skylinks was where I wanted my wedding to be. Of course we still did our due diligence and went on the rest of our tours. After my wife and I discussed all the venues we toured, we went back to Skylinks the same day to book because we wanted to make sure they had our day. All the staff was absolutely amazing. Donnie the bartender was definitely heavy handed (which I appreciated) and he made sure my Bride and I were taken care of! (Plus, his dance moves during our reception were a hit). Sarah was absolutely amazing, constantly checking up on my wife and I to see if we needed water, or honestly anything at all. and a special kudos to the chef for that stuffed chicken with chardonnay sauce! Talk about delicious.I had an idea of how the day was going to go, and of course I had expectations. Skylinks went above and beyond those expectations and my wedding was truly a fairytale, it was everything I could have dreamed of and more.Thank you Brooke, Diana, Donnie, Sarah, and every other staff member who I may of not been able to meet. July 25th, 2019 is a day I will never be able to forget.
Attended retirement party. Food excellent. Golf course busy on a rainy day.
Very nice course, great conditions all around, from tee boxes to fairways to greens, couldnt find anything wrong beside my golf game....lol...teed off at 130 and surprisingly the POP was awesome. Finished 18 in under 4 hrs and was even got in a few extra holes before returning our carts...I would recommend this course for any golfer. If the POP is consistently under 4hrs, then it should be the place to golf, in my opinion.
This was the nicest venue I have attended in a long time. From the restroom to the food was very clean and good. I would recommend to my family and friend.
Excellent staff. Challenging course.
Course is way over priced for the shape its in... Pins were put on turtlebacks or right next to the fringe making bogey the score of the day... Not very amateur friendly which makes coming back not likely to happen... Good thing I brought my dog bcuz its a Dog Track! $Ripoff$
For anyone who hasnt played here in a long time, the course is a pleasant surprise. The greens were in good shape and putted true. The holes with water were challenging but fair and the overall experience was good.
Practice balls were good shape. Hitting off grass today which there was very little of..
It was good place to play golf, but too many people on Friday morning. Do I want to play again? Yes I will play at Skylink on week day. Not weekend.....
Best long beach course. A bit slow most weekends but good conditions.
Smooth to get on the range today. Looked good for getting out too
A fun course for a decent price.
Skylinks has a nice layout, its not too long, and the facilities are nice. The fairways are wide and the rough isnt too bad except for areas on every hole that the ball settles down into some deeper stuff. Our main issue was with the greens. Maybe it was the wedding tournament in front of us but it seemed like nobody was fixing their ball marks. That was irritating to say the least. The other problem was the beverage cart. She had no interest in selling anything. We only saw her twice during our round. Both times she slowed down a bit and yelled You dont need anything do you? and kept on going. Strange. The bar is ok, but the bartender is friendly and mixes a very good drink.
Clean and well maintained golf course
Good 9 hole course. Lots of room for practice
Attended a Mothers Day Brunch Excellent Service. The Golf Course was beautiful and the room was Gorgeous.
Very fun course. The staff members are friendly courteous.
Not respecting tee times at all
Fairways are a bit dry, but the greens are in great shape
Had my daughters wedding there, great place. Thanks for everything guys !!!!. A+
It has great food but i think they should extend their menu
GPS on carts are way off, we had two carts, they varied by 10-12 yards between the two carts in the same spots!!
Pretty nice course not too hard not too easy, medium-range price for myself but I walk so its cheaper. Also they need to put in a couple electric car spots so that you can charge your car while you play, and if the course manager is reading this put in at least 4 not 2. Thank you
Its a beautiful golf course
The course is average. Very hard fairways and bad spots on green.
Good but no parking..thinking about going elsewhere sorry
Went to a Wedding Show to check it out as a possible venue. Staff was very friendly, servers were promt. Its definitely on our list.
Great golf course, just the right degree of difficulty.
First time play with my wife! She likes a lot.I want go backto play again!
Attended a wedding at Skylinks. It is a beautiful atmosphere, however, being where it is, geographically, the planes and helicopters landing at Long Beach airport can put a slight damper on an event. And I can only imagine what it does to you when a plane flies over your head during your back swing. In the end, the staff was excellent and everything went smoothly.
I thought this public course was great for a casual late afternoon round with my son. The greens were not bad. The only problem was a very slow and inconsiderate party of five in front of us holding up everyone behind them. There was no marshal to keep the pace. Also the holes adjacent to the driving range are littered with white range balls making it nearly impossible to find your ball in the rough unless you tee off with a brightly colored ball! Food is nothing special but they have a good selection of cold beer and snacks with a lukewarm hot dog for reasonable price. Convenient location. I would come back again for practice.
Good track in Long Beach. But they pack em in so its slow playin
Beautiful Golf course...nice for small weddings
I had fun, but little bit expensive than quality.
Decent enough golf course and facilities. Took an hour to play 3 holes. Waaaaaay to many people on the golf course. Poor course management
Waited at the ((cell lot)) for a arriving flight.
Great course to play at and joining the players clubs help save a lot. 12pm after you pay $25 and 2 large buckets if you are a players clubs member of the Long Beach course. Cant beat that.
Easy course to maneuver, however I wish the holes were labeled a bit more clearly.
First time at this course and we had a tee time for 10:30 on a Friday. We played for 5 hours before calling it a day after only getting through 14 holes. The staff was friendly but the pace of play ruined the day unfortunately.
Best Christmas party ever very nice place easy to find Pleasant atmosphere
Great course. Would be 5 stars if except they all fivesomes. When will you change that, American Golf?
Food for the wedding reception was the best Ive ever had at any wedding. Very very good food
Good value and conditions look online for discount prices
Way too expensive for an average public course
Beautiful place went to a wedding
The course is currently in winter conditions. Grass tends to go dormant which makes for some brown/dead ares including the fairways. The greens are in good shape, as are the bunkers. This is probably one of the better long beach courses but the biggest downside is the pace, especially on the weekends, its 5+ hours for a round. They send groups every 8 mins which makes the problem. I understand they need go maximize groups sent but when you account overbooked, 5 somes, walkers, and people playing from the blues when they wont break 100, it makes for a frustrating day.The range is mats only. The practice greens are pretty big and roll similar to the actual course greens. The restrooms could use attention. The restaurant food is decent but the staff makes it up with the friendly smiles. Some in the pro shop could take some pointers.
Great local place yo practice and play
Decent spot to golf. Hard to finish 18 when your stuck behind the slow walkers that dont allow you to pass. Needs to have a Marshal on the turn or monitor the players a little more
First time visit. Attended a birthday celebration. Nice, clean. Great room for receptions, parties, meetings, etc.
I have been here for two events. The bathrooms are not the cleanest but the the place is nice.
Great course, fun to play. They also put on amazing events! We had a wedding there and it was fantastic although they ran out of fish. Get more fish!
As a local to Southern California, its hard to find courses that have character. This course not only has character, it has great greens.
Course is in good shape, not great shape but greens are a little thick.
The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The tees, fairways and bunkers are in great shape. The greens are soft and a few are pretty beat up. The pace of play is truly bad. Regardless of the tee time its always a 5+ hour round. Its a fun course but not a good value for the price.
Went for a golf tournament and things were planned perfectly, organized and had tons of fun. Greens and fairway were in great shape and the greens were mice and challenging.
Hey Gary,Greens were in pretty good shape. Fairways dry so thats good for grandpa. Yeah!! Pace of play was horrible, nearly 6 hours. Front office a bit Out of Sorts At hole number three we were asked to add a fifth player then after 9 holes one player left to join another group teeing off at 11. then two of our group had to leave after 15 to go and get their children from the babysitters(20 bucks per hour).NO marshals in sight. As a veteran marshal I know that would be a big help. Example: Have the women tee off while the guys are waiting. At 13 we had four groups waiting. At 16 the same. NO wave ups!!! NEED MARSHALS TO MONITOR THE PACE OR YOU MAY HAVE SOME UNHAPPY(NOT TO RETURN PLAYERS) AND A BAD REPUTATION THAT SKYLINKS TAKES TOO LONG!!!THAT IS THE SKINNY FROM OLE GRANDPA.
Yummiest stuff.
A few of the holes (#1 & #10) are a little weird. You get a lot of roll on the fairways when theyre dry. The tee areas are level and in good shape. Greens are multi-tier and difficult. You may see an occasional bald area (no grass) on a few of the greens. Green fees are higher than average for the area. You will need to be able to work the ball for lower scores.
Very nice and well maintained with nice views and good rolling greens
Played on a Saturday. Good layout. Greens were above average, but the fairways were dry... couldve used a minimal amount of water. After 14 holes and 4.5 hours, we had to leave... we hadnt planned on a 5:40-6 hr pace. Ten minute splits (instead of 8) and a more attentive and active marshall could make a round here much more enjoyable.
This is a really nice course, easily accessible in Long Beach. Always clean, and the staff are really good about nudging slow pokes along. 5 Stars.
Beautiful wedding held there. Was a great time
