I love Stokes Nature Center and the trail but the preschool program was not a great fit for my 4 year old daughter. If your child has any issues with listening or cooperation they will be asked not to come back, 2 strikes you are out. It is understandable with the river being right there but the staff is not equipped to handle kids with special needs or that need extra attention.
One of my favorite spots in the valley to go for a trail run or walk with the family. There are rattle snakes in the summer, though, so watch out!
A highlight of our visit to Logan. What a gem. Be aware it is a bit of a walk from the small parking area to the nature center. They have awesome displays and kids activities inside, along with a large collection of books and a helpful staff member. A wonderful resource!
Loved this part of our trip even though the Nature Center was not open. The surroundings are beautiful. Its is realitively cool there due to shade and the Logan River
Perfect place to go for a Preschool-4th grade field trip. A fun nature walk to get up to the center on a well maintained trail, beautiful views and fun places to explore. The Nature Center is great fun to take a break and learn about the Canyons, wildlife and vegetation, read a book, look at some fossils, identify plants and flowers, do some bird watching, as well as other indoor and outdoor activities before heading back to the trail with the kiddos. We had a fantastic time, no need for a guide, the center is what you make of it!
Three words: beau ti ful
Easy hike to take with your family
The kids loved exploring. We thought they would be done in less than an hour but they played happily 3 hours before we dragged them away. My only complaint is that the parking area is far away. Its a long walk for littles and you have to cross a highway with no crosswalk. Feels like playing chicken.
It is really nice place to cool down after hiking the Logan River trail. They also have some things for kids to do.
A nature education center for students. Went here several times as a child and I always had fun. It also hosts a really cool nature based preschool.
We showed up at 1005, the man who worked there didnt show up until 1030 (website and sign said it opened at 1000) and didnt even say a word to us. Just unlocked the door and completely ignored us the whole time we were there. Not much to do, wasnt good for the kids, the only interesting thing was a turtle in an aquarium. Time would be better spent just walking the river trail and actually enjoying nature, this center and our experience there offered nothing about nature nor was it enjoyable.
A fun place to explore and learn about nature. The staff are nice and really informed and love kids.
Favorite place to go to calm my mind
Awesome community nature center in beautiful Logan Canyon. They provide great opportunities to come and learn about the environment. The also hold concerts in the woods as well periodically.
My wife is a Natural Resource major and I myself love the out doors this is a great place to learn about the out doors and to take kids, but I dont know what the hours are like.
Fun for kids, they get to learn more about nature.
Wonderfully family-friendly and interactive way to learn about our natural world!
Such a beautiful place. Red-tailed Hawks, red winged black birds, swallow tailed butterflies!
This has a great running trail nearby that goes up the canyon.
Right by the river trail in the mouth of Logan canyon. They have a lot of events for free or minimum price for public and it is awesome, specially the ones that involve kids.
Great place for outdoor pre school. Not for helicopter parents though.
Great for a walk and share nature with the young and old.
Nice staffe. Great for exploring the outdoors
My kids always love attending activities here
The place to take kids for outdoor education. The weekly music events by the river bring in tallent for across the US.
Lots of great activities for kids!
Beautiful
Must stop for shirt hikes.
Nice place to explore
