This is good for a small day trip! My children range from 10 to 1 yr old. We all found something we enjoyed here. Not the biggest zoo but still very cool. Take the kids for a hr then off to one of the 5 play structures in the park! Will go again!
Very small, but cute. Pretty reasonable at $5 adult and $3 kids, but I wouldnt pay much more. We did the entire Zoo (at a leisure pace) in under 1 hour.
So much fun great time seeing the animals masks required zoo staff are so friendly
Lonely for the most part, esp after hours when they close early now because of covid. Barely any life too it, not like the stories Ive heard before. Funtown is deserted. Its Pretty still, but lifeless.
A quick visit to the zoo with the family. There isnt a whole lot to look at but its not expensive and the kids always enjoy it. After, we broke out the snacks and relaxed at the park benches just outside the entrance and enjoyed the breeze and company. After you can hit the rides or the water area for the kids or even check out the park which is always beautiful.
I came here with my daughter for her first time at the zoo. It is a small zoo, so our trip only lasted 1.5 hours. But it is definitely worth checking out, and maybe have a picnic at the beautiful park next to the zoo entrance. I do wish they had a cafe or some sort of snacks/food stand. It is very inexpensive compared to other zoos, so we will definitely be coming back but this time with other people.
Micke Grove zoo is in a sad spot. Very few animals now a days and most the time the animals are put away for heat. When the animals are out they are very hard to see. The zoo is small but its clean. The Japanese garden is very nice though and the rest of the park area has great shade and eating spots. Nice for an hour trip to take the family to.
Love this place!! Its a beautiful little so and they do great things for the animals..Its cheap to take the whole family for them to enjoy!! And the money goes to the animals and park to keep it going..Our whole family went for enjoy the Zoo lights for a Xmas event and we all loved it..and it only cost $20 per car load..See Xmas lights and decorations and see animals and great Xmas music..fun for the family..We will be going back next year!! Help keep the zoo going for the animals!!
Great place to relax and clear your mind!
Absolutely gorgeous ! So spacious, clean and just a wonderful place to bring family
At the time I was there, not many people were around. The zoo, even though small compared to Sac Zoo, was very exciting for our 3 young great nieces. It was very interesting for myself as well with animals and displays they have. It was a great time for my family.
Not fancy, but a fun place to explore.
I love that they have improved the living quarters for all the animals. The cages are clean and the animals seem content. Its much nicer than it was years ago. Many improvements have been done and the park is a really nice place to take friends and family for a nice picnic, enjoy the zoo, the gardens are beautiful and they have kiddy rides. I love Micke Grove Park and Zoo!!
Love this place since I was a kid. Took my kids, and now my grandkids. Hard to see Japanese Tea Garden due to hours of operations. Zoo is getting face lift - more room for animals and more like natural habitat.
They are now open to the public, but the zoo and playgrounds are still closed. My family walked through the Japanese garden and had a picnic, still an enjoyable park.
There is just a good feeling you get when you come here. Theres not much people the prices are so cheap $3 for kids $5 for adults . And parking $5 .. so tranquil and quiet . Just perfect on weekdays . I dont know how it gets on weekends but from what I heard it little more busy . And the park next door is amazing with great prices too .
If you need Something to do in the stockton area. This is one thing I can recommend. It is a cute little Zoo with a good amount of animals most of the animals have been there for a while and are rescues.
Going to the zoo then following up with the parks makes anyday a fun adventure.
Better than most people say. Brought my 2 year old and he loved it so thats a win to me.
Kids of all ages had a good time. Not to crowded. Great price.
Great place to take your kid. The zoo isnt big at all. It only takes about 30 mins to walk around the zoo. It cost $5 to park in the area but it has a few playground to choose from, Japanese Garden and a little Fun Town(open in Spring) with rides. Great place for a party because theres plenty of tables and grassy area.
Enjoy a day outing to the park, picnic, ZOO, disk golf, and more
Its nice and big. Lots of room for kids to run. The Japanese garden is pretty. The zoo is sad tho. And the little amusement park is kinda sad too. The museum is cool. Just wish the zoo felt more happy.
Small zoo it only cost 5.00 for adults 3.00 for kids 3 and up 2 and under free. It also cost 5.00 to park. Make sure you pack a lunch and some drinks the café is closed and looks like it has been for a while. There is a cold drink and candy machine where the closed café is drinks 1.50 -1.75 each. Some exhibits are closed due to budget cuts. All in all the kids had fun. Also on the property are three different parks for kids to play plenty of picnic tables with BBQ pits and a water park area and a frisbee golf park.
Fun clean safe and beautiful my kids love it
Lots of animals and its very very affordable. 5 dollar parking and zoo is 5 dollars per adult. Its a very nice zoo makes for a fun day.
Excellent little zoo for a family nature adventure. While you are in the park where the zoo is located, explore a beautiful Japanese garden and check out the great new playground equipment.
It is a perfect place for kids. It is full of things to do and the zoo was small but great! I would recommend this place to anyone as it has something for everyone!
Small zoo but very nice care for the animals and birds. The landscape is like what it would be like if you were really in the country. Friendly staff and knowledgeable employees. Just very relaxing. Want to go back to see the Japanese Garden. I would recommend this zoo.
This is Stocktons little jewel. Been going there for over 45 years. First as a kid, then taking my children, and now all my 13 Grandkids. Weve been there many times. Each time new improvements and additions to make the experience greater and more memorable. They all love it. Old and young, you wont be disappointed . You know all these improvements come with donations from the public. Yes, me and you. We got to help so our great grand kids can enjoy like we are. Also volunteer hours help also. Give to our local zoo. The Japanese tea garden is cool too. Just as I remembered it. See you there.
Easy zoo for a casual family trip. Not as big as the Oakland or SF zoo, but perfect size for the smaller kids to be able to get through without being exhausted. Very reasonable prices.
Love the Rose garden
Havent been there for years. Had a great time with special friends. Very friendly and clean and beautiful. Great place.
This zoo use to be great 20 years ago when they had sea lions and other great animals. Now it pretty much dead. Most of the animals in the zoo are just backyard creatures such as squirrel, turtles, snake, birds, and insects.Dont waste your money!!
The park itself was perfect, the zoo and happytown are clearly grasping to hold on for dear life. We did go on a Wednesday and we were the only people at the zoo happy town was closed. Japanese gardens were beautiful.
Very nice park has a park mini amusement park and has a mini zoo for your kids 5 per adult 13 and up and 3 for kid 3-13 very nice highly recommend for your kids and familys also there is a Japanese garden very nice area
Love this little zoo! Never crowded, good animal exhibits, beautiful surroundings, inexpensive... Me and my 7 year old love this zoo!
Even with the cooler weather my granddaughter still LOVED it. Going early is sugested as the animals are active about the time park opens at 11am and in later afternoon. Only bummer was the fun center(ride area) was not open not sure if this was due to it being jan or something else.. park is PERFECT size for younger kids and for those who have a hard time walking larger parks..
Had a good time with the kids
Was amazed ay what a beautiful park this is. Celebrated a birthday of a friend whose Dad brought his pizza oven to make personal pizzas. Would recommend highly.
Its small but they have really nice animals there. They even have employees walk around and giving fun facts about some of the animals there. Its really fun and cool for the little ones. They can learn a lot there. Its a fun little place to go too.
Always have loved this place. Love how there is different sized playgrounds for different sized kids
The zoo is alot smaller than what I remember but it makes up for it in a fairly sizable area where they now have rides. Its like a small fair made solely for children. My nephew loved it. Also the staff that I met were very friendly.
What a wonderful surprise to find in Lodi. The park is huge and has a small zoo, a Japanese garden with several Koi fish, several picnic areas with playgrounds and a seasonal amusement park with plenty of rides for the kids. You pay a fee to get in and then there are small fees required at the zoo and the historical museum. Had a great time with my grandchildren and plan on visiting again this summer!
Ive been going here for years love attending buddy walk great park.
A little small, but a great place to stop and see some nature, the kids love it.
Love this park...nice shade...clean and good playground for the kids
A small zoo, but with some fun and interesting animals. My family liked the snow leopard, and a docent told us lots of cool info about her. The bobcat and the marmosets were interesting but the main attraction were the monkeys. They were active and interested in us as well.
My daughters school went on a field trip and i was a unforgettable experience thanks to all the staff and teachers
Fun for everyone! My family and I went to the amusement park side. Ive lived here for 3 years and didnt know it was there. The operators were awesome! The rides were great for me and my 4 year old. Theres a huge playground and the Japanese garden is sublime! Be careful on the stone path.
Nice little zoo and park area. Had a wonderfully peaceful time with my family on a Friday afternoon.
Seems like this zoo is going downhill. My main concern is the snow leopard. Its out in the 100 heat with little shade and room. An animal like that should be kept in a cool environment with lots of room. If you cant provide an appropriate environment then you shouldnt have it. Better to send it to a sanctuary with the appropriate needs for this animal. Otherwise the other animals seem well cared and have good room.
Small zoo, but great for little kids. Make sure to check out the Japanese Garden, it is beautiful!
The place is near ran down, Some staff members need an attitude adjustment and understand this is a place of amusement for children not some place you just come to so you can collect a paycheck with out deserving it. The place needs to be renovated and add few more staff members. Stay open later and not cost 2 whole dollars for 1 ticket. Making all that profit and spend zero dollars on up keep. 2star from me for now.
Some events were closed but the Zoo part is amazing and my kids absolutely loved it. Wish some animals were out but all in all it was a very enjoyable event.
Its a very old zoo. Very affordable at 5.00 per adult, 3.00 for children. Spring is even more exciting with the butterfly exhibit and more.Parking is 5.00 on the weekday and 6.00 on the weekend.Well shaded in most parts of the zoo.
Zoo looks closed but park area nice & so are Japanese gardens.
I hadnt been there in over 20 years and i loved it. It has very clean bathrooms the whole place was beautiful.
Such a great little zoo with extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff!!!
What this zoo has to offer now are mostly memories of better times... Back when there were sea lions, and baboons. When there were full cages, a running cafe, and a gift shop where plushies could be purchased after a visit.Im very happy I have video of my children there in the early 2000s, but very sad when I see it today.I still buy my zoo membership hoping things will turn back around one day, but at this time its just a shadow left of better times :(
Visit for the zoo lightsVery fun yet small
The kids loved the holiday lights and trying to find the animals at night
Amazing Experience. Just remember sun screen and/or mosquito repellent.
Super fun,the staff was awesome. My daughters loved the zoo. The heat didnt matter. I enjoyed the whole park..Looking forward to coming back, real soon.
Birds and other small animals, but a fun 1.5 hours
Cute little zoo for the kids only 5 bucks
This zoo is awesome! Very well tended..not many animals but is a great way to spend a couple hours. The Japanese Garde is beautiful.
Played my first round of disc golf here. The park is great, with clean grounds, and plenty of playgrounds for the kids. We always enjoy the zoo, and Japanese garden.
Cute little zoo. $5 to get in
Boo at the Zoo was awesome... Stormtroopers, Jawas and even a Gamorrean! Lots of activities for the little ones... Candy and even free little pumpkins! Kids all said it was better than Boo at the Zoo in Oakland... Not as much walking and small crowd size on a Friday night! Three more nights to go this year... We may go again!
Its my childhood play ground and ZOO LOVE IT lots to do at Mickeys Grove Zoo
Even though a bunch of the exhibits were closed and it was stupid hot out my family and I had fun.
This zoo is nice. Close to home, cheap, and great for the little one. Just wish there was a little more hands on.
I was at the Stetler family picnic that started back in 1959. I was six years old and dont remember much but this is the Micke Grove Park from the past years of picnics. I attended this years 2019 picnic. Good place for a picnic, great day to enjoy.
Christmas event December 7 the - 8th Im excited.5-8 pm
It was ok but was super outdated and most of the places with animals didnt have any animals. We went on the rides and the workers were really nice but the prices for the rides was a little high and an unlimited wristband is not offered there. Honestly for a quick little thing to do when there is nothing to do this place is cool to visit.
My kids fav place ever the people are awsome super nice and the animals are well keeped just the suvaners a lil pricey but food and drinks are good rilly good thanks micke grove zoo my kids love u
The. Animals were pretty cool but it zoo was really small
Nice place to go to and get away from it all.
Mickey Grove is a small local zoo but it is a lot of fun for the younger kids. We have the year pass and we go all the time! There is a small play structure for the under 6 crowd. Don’t expect a big zoo. You can walk through and see all the animals fairly quickly. My personal favorite is the snow leopard. The bird that makes the “bomb drop” sound never disappoints too!
Brought the fam. Had a good time.
As Always, Beautiful and breathtaking. My family has been going since the early 1960s for big family picnics. The zoo is awesome and all the kiddy rides are great.
The animals were fun to see but the zoo is old and run down with a very small selection of animals.
Great place and inexpensive for kids rides too plus a zoo!
Actually I was at the museum blacksmithing for my granddaughters Vally Days field trip. They have a fully functional blacksmith shop that was donated from a farm on Roberts Island and it is about 120 years old. Had a lot of fun, the kids got to run the blower and actually bend some steel and take their projects home with them. Im pretty sure that they all enjoyed it, they were pretty excited especially when they see that red hot glowing rod come out of the fire.
Love this park since I was a kids and now its the grandkids turn to enjoy it...lots to offer from the beautiful oak trees, gardens, zoo and splash zone for kids ! !
The zoo is very small and it wont take more than 20 minutes for you to finish the tour and exit. But the Park is beautiful with a fun center and japanese Rose garden and shelters. Its definitely worth going once.
Perfect size for young children. They are able to see almost all of the animals pretty up close, and by the time they get a little tired youve seen everything. Very affordable too.
Beautiful park. Always fun place with the zoo and carnival.
A good place to bring the kids on the weekend
