Grassland and waterway refuge for migratory birds. We saw two bald eagles from the visitors center.

We did not get a chance to see birds migrating. We were too early/late to observe any great activity going on. Oh shucks, maybe next time we can see more action from the wildlife there.

Our favorite detour down I-25 from Denver to Albuquerque. Great nature center when it is open and great auto tour and birding any time.

Water is coming in on the main ditch. Some of the Marshalls have water in them. I saw lots of waterfowl. Great.

Lovely place when it rains. You can see all kinds of birds in the marshes. It is fascinating.

Wide flat expanse of wetlands and fields. Great birdwatching area and a great cameo of Las Vegas Green Meadows is about. Nice drive.

Clean facilities, long sight lines, and friendly staff. Worth the stop if you dont mind the slight detour off the freeway.
