The nicest most extravagant aquarium I’ve ever taken my BF to. We go to one in almost every city we visit and this one was by far our favorite. It was especially clean, all staff was superb, the marine life was a pleasure to see as there were many species we’ve never seen before. Book a day here! You will not regret it.
We really enjoyed seeing the shark reef aquarium at Mandalay Bay. It felt like you were in a jungle with ruins all around you. The sharks and other fish were really amazing, and we loved being surrounded by water in the tubes. I did think that the place is quite small and takes two little time to go through for what you pay. Otherwise this is a great place to visit.
Its an amazing experience. Its even better if you have interest in marine life. Book your ticket online ahead of time. Reservations go fast. Its about $20 per ticket.
The only reason I give it two stars is because the aquarium part was nice. If you go to their website, there was only one option to purchase tickets. We purchased for the 10 am time. We got there at 9:50 and finally started getting let in about 10:10 (so late). When we get to the front they asked us how much we paid for the tickets. We told them we purchased from their website and they sent us over to the ticket counter. Apparently the only tickets you can buy online are for their virtual tour/movie, NOT the aquarium. So we then had to repurchase tickets and they made us wait until the 10:30 time. When we told them that our original tickets were for ten they brought the supervisor over. We told them what happened and showed them. We were told it was our own fault and to get back in line for the 10:30 time. The website needs to be fixed so you know that you are buying the incorrect tickets. In that 40+ minute wait, I counted approximately 6 other groups who had the same issue so it wasnt just us. Super disappointed.
Great place to see many sea animals. My kids loved the place. The place is quite small so if you walk fast youll be done in less than 10 min. But they do have many sharks, stingrays and fishes. So take your time, enjoy the animals and take lots of pictures. You can also visit the underwater VR experience next door which is free with admission to aquarium.
My husband and I had an amazing time here! I got an excellent deal using MyVegas rewards for 50% off 2 admissions. The sharks are beautiful to watch.
We had an enjoyable time at the aquarium, I booked 1 ticket free with MyVegas App and paid full price for one. Seeing as this is an aquarium inside a resort, I didnt expect something huge. It took us about 25 minutes to walk the whole things. Keep in mind we had to social distance and that was kind of hard to do in some of the tunnels, especially with kids around.
Worth the walk and the time. Others try to replicate the best and this is top shelf
Amazing place to visit in Mandalay Bay to see sharks and other ocean species up close.
Omg beautiful Sharks and other Sea Wirld Life Views all over .....
Wish it was more interactive for the price theyre charging but whatever....I enjoyed looking.
Took the family (4yr old boy) and (13yr old teen girl) here its okay. The kids had fun and the exhibits are well kept. But its not that big. Took about 45 min to go the whole attraction. Recommend if you have little ones, older kids might be bored.
Its a cool aquarium. Not very big. Theres a few small habitats and small aquariums then one larger tank. Several portions of the aquarium is different views of the 1 large tank. Sharks are about 5 long. Its a nice break from the Vegas norm. Id go again someday if its no more than about $20/person. I forgot what I paid for it.
So much fun! Our 2year old and 5 month old loved walking through the aquarium it was a great experience!
The design is clever for a smaller space... love the rainforest look! walking down into a sunken ship for the underwater experience was really cool!!! My favorites were the sea turtles!!
Great time had. Awesome setup. People are very nice and helpful.
Loved the shark reef aquarium, it was like being transported to ancient maya and seeing creatures in the wild then going under water to see all kinds of sharks, jellyfish and rays. I will most definitely visit again.
My son loves the shark reef. It pricey but worth it. They also take photos of you and you can purchase them. The shark reef if awesome.
100% worth it!! Very very cool and cheap! Its not just sharks, there is snakes, huge fish, and other super cool animals. Highly recommend!
I loved the exhibit, however it was a little short, thats why I am giving it 4 stars. Staff was friendly and the environment was clean. Overall, it was worth the visit.
This place is very pretty. Had lots of different marine animals. Everyone was extremely nice. I will definitely be going back if I’m ever in the area again.
This place was very pretty. Had lots of different marine animals. Everyone was extremely nice. I will definitely be going back if I’m ever in the area again.Only con I found was the food court was even more expensive than I expected... lol... but now I know for next time.
Little pricy but the kids really enjoyed it. Was a good family activity away from gambling & smoke. We were there for over an hour.
Paid $58 for me and my husband to attend the aquarium. They take 4 photos of you at the beginning and if you’ll like to redeem them after the experience they are $29 for 1 picture or $40 for all 4. They also have a small shop where you can purchase t-shirts, stuffed animals etc. The place is small, and due to COVID you have to maintain 6 feet a part and wait for the people in front for you to see the next exhibit. It’s very dark inside and you must have flash on to take a picture with the sharks and reef above you.
It was really interesting especially the shark tank, liked the Comodo dragon they have and the jelly fish tank. Other than these there is nothing to see as it was smaller than I expected. Excellent employees who deserve 5 stars. Will definitely go again.
Very fun and awesome to see all the sharks and fish! Would love to go back after everything is opened.
The aquarium is a cool experience and a good time with plenty of great opportunities. When I went they also had a virtual reality experience included in the ticket price which was a nice bonus. The pricing is a bit high, but not excessive for Las Vegas Attractions.
Looks pretty similar to the Georgias aquarium, only smaller, its pretty amazing.
A fun place for kids and adults.
Nice, but various shrieking kids voices are amplified and it was almost too loud for my toddler to handle. Thought they charged too much for photos. The 3D video was pretty cool; nearly missed it because it isnt obvious and had to ask around to find it.
It was a beautiful experience I love watching the the turtles the Sharks I loved it
Amazing, the entire family loved it! The staff is amazing as well. I highly recommend this attraction if you have kids or not. All of their animals are gorgeous
Pretty amazing aquarium displaying all sorts of animals and fish. Obviously the shark tank is spectacular. A must visit on a rainy day or people who love zoos/aquariums.
The aquarium was nice but its not very big. It only took a short time to walk through the entire exhibit. Admission should be a lot less for whats offered.
Very fun place would definitely recommend also the 3D experience is a must
We took our 1 year old to see real live sharks, fish, turtles and other aquatic animals.. she absolutely loved it! Couldnt stop talking about the charks when we left. Great place to bring the family.Only thing I wish was it was a bit longer and that they have the touch and feel pools still open, but with covid it might not be possible.
Took our time and looked at everything with kiddos and was in and out in 20 mins. The wait to go in was longer. Cute but there were other animal attractions that cost the same or less (or even free for that matter) nearby that were definitely much better bargain for the price.
Great place to take the family or visitors that have come to town!
Shark Reef Aquarium is a decently sized, and relatively well stocked aquarium offering views of mainly tropical fish, sharks and amphibians. The shark exhibit was the most impressive, and included quite a few interesting species. However some of the amphibians enclosures could have been a little cleaner. Overall its pretty small for what they charge, but not bad if youre in the area.
Aquarium was great for have new but safe requirements such as the distancing and adults masks on.
The kids (age 3-12) love the exhibits. The tunes and sunken ship areas are their favorite. Always a great time. And of course the gift shop afterwards for the stuffed sharks is great memories!
Smaller than expected but good. The virtual dive with the humpback whales was good. All included but not every employee lets u know about the virtual experience.
This is a great place to go with the family if you are on vacation in Las Vegas. Be warned though that is can cost over of $100 for a family for admission only. It was actually a bit larger than I anticipated and exciting to see all they had to offer. There were staff on hand to provide more insight to the sea animals and you could ask questions too! Kids and parents would enjoy it. There is also a stingrays exhibit that provide a hands-on interaction for those visiting. It is a really fun place to visit. There is also a gift shop on site where you can purchase souvenirs.
The aquarium gets 4 stars; the staff gets that fifth. I had a captivating conversation about octopuses, learned that peeing on a jellyfish sting is an old wives tale (meat tenderizer works brilliantly, evidently) and learned things I didnt know about venomous ocean fauna. Honestly worth the time and money for that alone - but it does deliver on its name, too, with a lot of chances to look at sharks up close. But the star of the show had to be that huge, lazy and vaguely interested pufferfish.
It was very short and the touch tank and shark dive was closed. Loved it nonetheless and got some great pics and video.
This was super fun!!! You have to buy tickets before and it Sales out. Family fun... Check for ticket deals online.
Great outing. A bit short and small compared to others but the experience was worth it.
It is a really pretty aquarium, but the cost of entry is a bit high for how small the entire experience is. If you can get discount tickets, I would definitely go, but if paying full price I would recommend something else as the entire walkthrough (even stopping to take pictures) is only about 20 minutes.Again, it is very pretty, just much smaller than expected.
Had a great time, they were very good at social distancing!!
This most incredible experience with sea creatures Ive ever had. Never seen animals this big, ever.
Beautiful place. .it was amazing spend time with family in a aquarium like this. In las vegas..where all is dessert....is a huge aquarium with many espicies of see creatures..
Really cool aquarium experience. Great for adults and kids. The underwater ship experience was really cool.
Absolutely recommend this place! It was such a great break from the hassle bustle on the strip and lots of fun. We were 4 adults, no kids, and enjoyed it very much!
First time visitor to Shark Reef Aquarium. I will definitely visit again!
Visited with my family and I am terrified of sharks haha but it was super fun and they took precautions with Covid which was really thoughtful. They have you take a photo at a beginning and its a great momento for our family that you can purchase at the end of the tour. They had tons of cool different fish, and helped answer any questions about the fish. It was overall a very nice tour and very family friendly, if youre ever visiting Las Vegas you should check it out! The mandalay bay also has a great food court and stores where you get souvenirs as well, overall great experience.
There sharks were very cool and they looked to be very well taken care of. The vr ride the had was also very fun
Not bad for the price! Its a standard aquarium but a really cool theme. The parts where you can see above you at sharks swimming is a cool thing to see! (Small sharks of course). The jelly fish tank was trippy too!
Its hard not to be amazed by the amount of sharks actually here! Even with social distancing, this place is worth your time and your familys time. Personally, i think the price is a tad high, still worth it, but a little high due to how quickly you can go through the exhibit. Ive been more than once, so the price cant be that bad. The ability to take beautiful pictures of exotic gorgeous marine life is unmatched anywhere. There is even a hands on place for different animals. Bring your kids here, theyll love it! Mandalay Bay, which os the hotel its in is beautiful! The pool is AWESOME and Fantastic, ive stayed here before as well. The staff at Shark Reef were nice and helpful. Its a bit of a walk, as its in a distent corner of the hotel, but walking is a necessity while touring vegas. A place for all ages and Id urge you to go. The Sharks will not disappoint you.
A lot of fun. They have more than just fish and sharks too. Get their deal where you get a free gift and photo. Its not a bad price at all for the experience
Great aquarium but I was expecting more from a casino. Worth a visit though.
This is a really cool aquarium however it is quite small we did the whole thing in less than an hour. I feel it is a little overpriced for how small it is. Otherwise it is quite nice.
Always great to see animals you wouldnt get to see otherwise! They had a cool VR experience included with the ticket price that made you feel like you were diving with sharks!
We were very excited to see this aqarrium because we seen a few. This one was very nice and beautiful Happy we came.
The Reef the Shark Reef was the very nice place had a lots of SeaWorld stuff shark turtle just about everything youd like to see
Good for a one time stroll, not worth the money tbough.
Huge fish, and sharks. Youll enjoy it, its worth it
Fun, quick little adventure.Great for kids...lots of different sharks and fishes to look at
An amazing marine exhibit. The knowledge and friendly staff make everything worthwhile. The large tanks of saltwater fish, the interacting with mantas, the sunken ship shark exhibit and the glass tunnel are all spectacular. If you have never gone, take the time when in vegas to treat yourself to memories you wont forget.
It was a lot of fun. The tanks and exhibits were really well done and had amazing animals and fish. It was just maybe a little short.
Love this place for kiddos, however due to the COVID-19 situation, no touch tanks..
Could of been better for the price we paid for it to be my baby 4 year old birthday
Pretty lonely on the floor where you check in for the aquarium. Aquarium was nice. The virtual reality unfortunately was not worth it.
Is good place but not enough animal to see is good i guess..
I was surprised at how awesome this was. Highly recommend for kids and adults
So much to see. I only wish there was more educational signs to read
Really neat experience take your time going through
Amazing place. Its smaller than most aquariums so not much time is needed. Cool tube walk through. We did get to see some really cool sharks, stingrays, jellyfish and they do have a touch tank. I think it was an all around great experience.
Have done a wonderful job adapting to COVID 19. Well managed and organized. Great family outting.
Its a nice small aquarium. Clean and fun. Staff were helpful and informative.
Well worth the $22-$24 to get in. Took the family and was amazed at the sharks and the set up they had
We have visited this aquarium a number of times, and it never disappoints!Despite being smaller than some of the Ripleys locations, it has some really nice displays and the fish and animals seem in excellent health. Also when you think these animals are in the middle of the desert, it makes it even more remarkable!
Like many people have said, this shark reef aquarium is a bit overpriced for the size and length of time you can realistically spend here.It does however have a great atmosphere and nice exhibits, you can interact with rays in an open pool which was good, although I dont see why I couldnt take photos with an underwater camera when you can put your hands in and possibly contaminate the water with sun creams etc. The sunken sailing ship and submerged walk ways were very good indeed. We all enjoyed the aquarium and wished it lasted longer.
This is one of the activities that cant be missed in Vegas. This was one of my choices for the 3 for $57 package. When you enter the aquarium, the forest like ambience sets the right feeling. There are a variety of aquatic beings here. Kids will definitely have a great time. They even provide you instructions to touch a stingray. Those jellyfishes were amazing as well. Once youre done with all the small fishes and beings, youll start seeing a huge aquarium filled with even more fishes. This is where youll find so many majestic sharks swimming. It was a great feeling to see sharks up close for the first time. Be sure to check out the videos along with this review. This is highly recommended!
The Aquarium at Mandalay Bay was really very nice. It was a bit on the smaller side. The shark tank and ship wreck is really amazing. And the underwater tunnels were gorgeous.
Its a nice aquarium, if you can get the buy one get one free then its totally worth the price. We have an aquarium something like this at a local mall thats cheaper but when youre in Vegas if youd like to do something away from gambling and drinking this is a nice place to spend a good 30 minutes to an hour.
It goes by fairly quickly, but taking the kids through it was great, had lots of fun taking family pictures, making memories.
Not a huge attraction, they have an OK aquarium. Mandalay can do much better than that.
The best aquarium experience one can have in the desert.
Visiting here was a dream come true! Ive dreamt about this place for most of my life. Its an exhibit targeted to shark lovers, not exotic fish lovers. Perfect!
Pretty darn cool place. Even with the covid rules in place, everybody did try to practice social Distancing. We all ended up balling uptogether at times throughout the tour like sardines I on their last leg.
Its great for the kids and adults as well you can to experience an aquarium like nothing before
This was a very fun experience. They have a large variety of sea life and the people there are able to share additional information about the aquatic life. The sharks were the most fascinating but it was also fun to touch a harmless tiny sting ray (I think). Def worth it if you’re with family!
Went through this exhibit a few days ago after I made my way down the long and seemingly never-ending Mandalay Bay shopping center. Coming from a town where our city operated aquarium is in forever need of greater funds and repair. I certainly appreciated and enjoyed the splendor that this attraction provided. The walk-though tunnel and large shark tank were unexpected, especially for a hotel aquarium. Making them a pleasant surprise. The additional attraction that was featured in our package, the Arctic/Ice exhibit was educational, interactive, and great for the children. However, it could have offered a little bit more considering the price of admission. In all, the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is a great way to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city and casinos. A stable of the hotel since its opening nearly two decades ago. It is well maintained and the staff are friendly. The ticket price(s) however, are a little excessive, even by Vegas standards
Extremely dissapointing, we paid $61for two tickets for a 10 min walk through. Do not waste your money.
It was awesome, I wish it was bigger though and had more sharks and content.
This was an interesting experience. You can go underground and walk through an underwater aquarium. There are a lot of different animals to see including a variety of sharks. I was a little disappointed and thought there would be a few more exhibits than what I saw, but overall, it was great. If you want a quick activity to do to fill time, this is a great experience. You can get through the exhibit in just over 30 minutes if youre in a hurry, but I suggest that you take your time and enjoy the animals. It will be worth it.
