Loved visiting this rink! The restaurant/bar area has a great view if the ice AND they have a VEGAN menu!!!
Happy that Vegas and rinks like these allow kids to experience and play the great sport of hockey. However if I am to be brutally honest... every rink in Vegas cares only about money. Thats why these kids only get about 50 minutes to 1 hour a week of practice, which has 2 to 5 teams on the ice at one time. If your coming from a hockey state, be ready to spend hundreds if not thousands on extra classes, open skate, stick and puck and multiple leagues. Just so your kid can stay on track.
Great place to ice skate, especially during the Christmas season. The rink is large and they offer walkers for small kids to hold onto while they skate (the City National Arena rink in Summerlin does not have these). During the Christmas season they have Christmas lights and play Christmas music. $12 to skate for 3 hours and $5 for walker.
Weve been here several times now because they have the walkers and they are great for the kiddos. Sadly, I have been disappointed every time. The skates need to be replaced. The blades are worn out. Some skates have a ridiculous long shoe lase while others a ripped one I can hardly tie.The staff are a bunch of kids on their phones. Today, the guy handing out the walkers had a crew around him the and you couldnt tell who worked here because no one was doing the job. The kid was bothered to be called on for help. The only guy actually working was the janitor. He deserves a raise.Probably my last time visiting this place.
I realized today (11/11/20) that I havent written a review of this place yet, so to fix that, here I am because I believe praise and good reviews should be given where they are due. I believe LVIC absolutely deserves that praise. I originally came to the Las Vegas Ice Center to get my start with ice skating, and eventually hockey, in December of 19. I kept coming because of the numerous and consistent wonderful experiences Ive had here. Back then, I hadnt been on the ice in over ten years and had almost no idea what I was doing when it came to skating, skate maintenance, hockey gear, etc. The staff at the Las Vegas Ice Center have been very friendly from my first time there and still to this day. They are also pretty knowledgeable in my experience, which has been incredibly helpful in my road to playing hockey. Ive talked to quite a few of the pro shop guys, and theyve been able to answer most questions Ive had, even the more weird or obscure ones. If they didnt know how to do something or didnt know the answer, they knew where to find someone who did and didnt try to run me around like a lot of other places probably would. Theyve never acted like Im wasting their time and theyve never been dismissive of me. This is coming from somebody who comes to their facility at least once a week, and sometimes more than that. The classes Ive taken here have been very welcoming and Ive never felt like I was less than for not knowing how to skate very well. Any hard time Ive been given has been in good fun, which is to be expected, and honestly, I enjoy. The culture here is great and feels less judgemental than other rinks Ive been to. In short, I cant recommend the Las Vegas Ice Center enough to anyone who wants to take up hockey, figure skating, or ice skating in general.
Me and my kids did the open skate. They had a great time! Staff was friendly and helpful. The $15/person included skate rental. They cant wait to go back.
Been coming here for years and I absolutely loved this place. The pro shop is stocked pretty well, easy and affordable to get your skates sharpened or baked. They always have deals going on!However, today was my first bad experience and unfortunately it is one I will never forget and they have truly lost a loyal customer. The lady manager. Not sure about her name as she never introduced herself, was very rude and condescending. Basically told me tough luck and there was nothing she could do. No customer service at all. Very disrespectful interaction with her. I will not be coming back to this rink again
Referees were not good for the out of state tournament we traveled too. Very disappointing. Nice warm bar and food though.
Thank you, LVIC, for resurrecting high school hockey and encouraging our female athletes to participate. We are excited about this season... whatever it may look like!
Good covid procedures. Got that fourth star because they didnt increase prices by a huge amount like other rinks when people are jobless.
Lots of people were not wearing masks. Approximately 5-10% of them. Their rental skates are also pretty beaten up. Other than that, its an okay place. Admission seems a little expensive.
The place definitely needs an upgrade. But its a ice rink where you can play hockey.
Better than city national, but update Brookys
Great place to skate! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable a out correct shoe sizes. I would highly recommend bringing your family here for parties or just to skate!
Awesome rink. Spent a week playing hockey there. Same rink quality as we find in Canada, all year long. (The ones in Canada, at least where I am from, are closed during the summer). Nice to enjoy a burger and a beer after an ice session in the restaurant in the same complex and watch the next teams playing.
This place is in dire need of a remodel. The ice sucks, it stinks in there (especially North end), and overall the facility is showing not only its age, but the complacency of its owner.Staff is okay. Some are great, and then there are the others are just there to collect a check. The store is a disaster and always looks like theyre in the middle of a reorganization, but never actually does it... Or the stock arrives and they just put it in the general area where the items need to go, and call it good.
Great staff, very helpful, friendly.
When in town this weekend for the hockey tournament, one of our players had their car stolen in the middle of the night with all their hockey equipment in the car. We had about 2 hours before our game to piece together gear for our player. Bob and the whole gang at the Las Vegas Ice Center came together to make it happen. Amazingly, they had our player on the ice and ready to go just in time. Bob and all involved, this meant a lot to us. Thank you. Bakersfield Jr Condors Bantam AA.
My kids enjoy coming here. The staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. My daughter really enjoyed the Learn to Skate program.
I really love this place. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. They really know what theyre doing here. If you have a child whos interested in skating or ice hockey, this is the place to go!
I go this place all the time. very clean and a great place for family. they include helpers for kids who are not good at skating and they even hold hockey classes and figure skating classes. this ice rink is the best one in town!
I enjoyed my time there.
Great place to play hockey.
Great place for youth Hockey
Went to pro shop for skates was helped with good knowledge and willing to answer questions
Great place to get your kids or grandkids out of video games! the staff is wonderful and classes fees are very reasonable!
Best place in Las Vegas for Curling, Curl Vegas Curling club.
Family fun and glow skate was awesome
Super cute place. They have walkers so new skaters like myself can get used to the ice, music is fun. Only wish the refreshments werent so overpriced.
Went to this arena to watch my brother in law play hockey with his team. Upon entering the first thing your nose is introduced is a odd mix of popcorn and sweat. The facility is dated, and kinda beat up. Not really to different from any other public sports arena I have been to. It seems to be run by mostly teens, but does have some older people, who seem to keep things running somewhat on schedule. Attached to one end of the north rink is a bar, that makes the experience a little more pleasant. As far as the rinks are concerned, I hear there good to play on and they Zamboni the ice after every game. Overall I guess its ok if you participate in ice sports.
Pizza is fantastic, regular style crust but still moist and delicious. Buffalo chicken pizza was great.
Hockey hockey and more hockey! Love this ice. The Silver Stick Tournaments have always been well done, and managed efficiently
Great people. Hockey oriented rink. Love it.
Good ice and nice people. The lobby is small for tournaments and Athens stands could be longer.
The ice rink was fun what made it great was the friendly staff and the ease to find out where you needed to be.
The atmosphere was great for Christmas and the music was good, but the skates were dull and old. It made skating a little tough.
Its pretty old and run down, but the ice is good and plenty of parking .
Great youth programs. Extremely helpful staff, and the pro shop team is able to help with any questions and gear issues. The best place for kids to play hockey in town.
Great place to skate and welcoming community. First time skaters welcome here.
Cool ice rink
What a great entertainment option in the summer! Its actually cold in there! Skate or just watch others. Lessons and teams for everyone!! Awesome.
Before the Vegas golden knights came into being there were 2 options for skating in Vegas. The Santa fe station casino and the fiesta. Now that we have a team, this place popped up over night and seems to be filling a demand for hockey fans coming out of the wood work. Its nice though. I hope it stays in business.
Great place to go skating with many classes offered but the price is extremely high!
Love ice skating...Great Value $10 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m....They will even let you to continue into the 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. session...If it is slow and definitely to their discretion!Have Fun...
It was great, not too crowded. They also offer lessons for children.
This ice rink is WAY better than the one in the Fiesta casino! Friendly staff and they close late... they need to upgrade their lockers though
The place was well priced and I got to skate. To make this a higher rating, they should update their lockers and skates as the they were falling apart.
I took one star because small area to get ready to go to the ice. There is also not alot of space for people who dont want to ice or need to sit down. I also took one star because the area of food is really bad. We had to wait 20 mins for a slice of pizza. All the food you had to wait 20 minutes.
Really great place, but the stick and pucks are at 2 - 4 on weekdays and most kids cant get there due to school. Also during the Friday night teen skate they play questionable music that is very mature for younger kids and would not recommend kids under 14 to go rue to the music. But other than that the place is clean, cafe is almost always stocked, and the pro shop is very convenient if you forget anything. Nice place overall.
This is very close to our house, kids always bug me to take them here. They have fun and enjoy it all the time. Its our neighbor hood ice skating always filled with kids. Great place to interact and good atmosphere.
My son plays on the youth hockey house league and we love it. He has learned to be a great skater through their many camps and clinics and we are pleased with his progress here
It is great! Skate sharpening isnt that good though.
Went for a friends kids birthday and had fun. The pizza repels all toppings. The place was clean and the service prompt.
In Vegas also, took the grandkids skating its a very cool place is located in Las Vegas I havent been on a pair of these types of skates since skating in Central Park back in the 70s
Hockey is the best game on Earth. This is one of the few places to play it in town. The facilities might not be fancy but it gets the job done.
This place is awesome. Im so glad there is an actual ice rink in Las Vegas...considering that the average daily temperature in the summer is 187,000°. They have plenty of open skate sessions, hockey, they offer learn to skate and learn to play hockey courses. They probably offer figure skating lessons as well, but I dont like figure skating so I forgot to look if there were available courses. The public skate is $10, if you have a little one learning how to move on the ice...they also have ice walkers available to rent for $5. There are 2 rinks in the same building (north and south.) There is also beginners curling lessons and a league. Great place. Go. Skate...using hockey skates.
Nice ice but colder than most rinks.
Peaceful and cold
It is a very nice facility the only problem I saw is that you dont have an ammonia rinks handicap viewing area theres a handicap person in a wheelchair theres no place for him to go up and view the game cuz everybody else is standing around so and you dont have no clear windows that are low to be able to see through other than that the place is awesome
I love the Coffee Club adult skating sessions which occur three times a week in the mid-mornings. Coffee Club, which is for adults only, is great if you’re a beginner or if you’re not comfortable skating with a lot of children. The staff and instructors are all really nice and friendly.
These folks are making my 2 boys fall in love with skating and hockey. Teachers are attentive in a family oriented environment.
This place has been around for many years now. It’s nice to have a reliable source for fun in Las Vegas for kids. My kids go here almost 4 times a month
Ice in the desert? Nice diversion in our way out of town and fun holiday skate set up
This place was so fun, my kids had a great time. They have these skate assists that you have to pay a little extra for, but are so worth it. My 5 year old was skating around great with his. And after ice skating we walked over to the other side and watched a local ice hockey game up close. It was a great experience for the kids! They had so much fun that they wanted to go back later that night!
We had our sons birthday party today and was very pleased on how well it all went. Kids loved it and would say we would do this again
Skating here is so much fun. The music is 10/10, the skates fit very well, and the experience is very fun.
Great staff. Great atmosphere and awesome sessions.
Very crowded, seems like everybody wants to learn how to skate nowadays. Way more crowded than when I was there two or three years ago. Ice is in decent shape, pretty bumpy though.
Nice facility right off the 215. Clean, and the rink cafe and the pro shop seemed to be decently stocked. There are 2 rinks, one for general ice skating and another for ice hockey. Only issue is that the lobby area is pretty small and gets super crowded. Theres additional space in the ice rinks to put your skates on if the lobby is full.
2 rinks with some of the worse ice that I have ever seen. Only a few people on the ice which was nice, ok sound equipment for the figure skaters out there. Again though horrible ice conditions. Nicely equipped pro shop. Kid working was not the brightest knife in the block. Had a bar/restaurant attached with views of the ice. Great breakfast sandwich! Plenty of parking.
We had a great time here. We went during the Winter Wonderland open skate. They had Christmas lights and trees out on the rink. Playing music. It was busy. The safety refs were a joke. All teenagers and were allowing their friends to skate way to fast and play tag both of which were against the posted rules. The skates were in decent shape. $6 per adult $4 per kids over 5. We didn’t get them but they had the plastic walker things which help beginners. The other rink had hockey practice going on and my boy loved watching them practice. The surrounding area is nice. Plenty of places to eat. Access right off the freeway.
Fun family skating and the holiday decor was fun.
So much fun for lessons and free skate. Visiting for my dads hockey game tonight. #godrunkenknights
Loved it. Was super fun and you can do commisions for songs
DJ is fun, staff was really helpful. Skates comfy and had a blast. A blast in the past lol
I had my sons birthday party here this weekend. This is what my experience was.I have 2 boy birthday parties per year. Been to a lot of places in Vegas. We had a great time on Sunday. The people were great. The one thing that really bothered me was all of the rules with what you can bring in. I know you want to make money off of us with the food. But we have kids with allergies and I love to decorate and make cute things to make the party look even better. For the amount of money that we spent on the party for 20 kids I think that you should change the rules on what we can bring in. That was very frustrating for me. I also feel that it was very overpriced. Dont get me wrong. We had a great party. I just feel that I can go to other places in the valley that are cool for my son and it would be cheaper with a lot less rules. So when moms ask me if I go there again. I would probably say no. Great customer service. Too expensive for what you get.
Went here for 2 birthday parties. Very Fun the first time. Eh the second time. Nice staff. Got a scab on my ankle from the skates.
The skating is nice but the restrooms could use a little work as the stall doors dont stay locked
Super huge place to come and enjoy and skate again.. and on ice .super. staff is nice and music is good
My girl has been figure skating for over 40 yrs..love seeing her face when atrink!
Love going here, the prices for ice skate rentals are pretty cheap and right now, the ice area has a fun holiday decoration complete with christmas lights, Christmas trees and fun neon music. The only downside that I could think of was the rental ice skates itself. They always sanitize it after use but you still get it pretty wet and smelly.
The facility is nice. Two ice rinks that facilitate hockey and figure skating. Ice gets torn up a little from the figure skating but overall a nice facility!
Ice rink was ok, but the smoke smell from the Casino was terrible.
Grt place for hockey. There is a restaurant that you can view games at but it is so smoky ...I cant even. Wish they would ban smoking in the restaurant for good!
Had an awesome time. 2 Adults were $10 each and this included ice skates. Great price!Note: Just make sure to check the website for Public Skate times!! This is the only time for walk-ins/ casual skaters for fun can go skate.
Staff friendly and nice experience ice skating!
We went for a birthday party. Very nice skating arenas. I like that there was 2. The entrance and skate check out lines were a little out of control. Only 1 person at the entrance so the line was out the door and took a while to get through. The skate rental line runs through the general sitting area so it was very crowded.
It was my first time ice skating and they offered everything I needed to learn, even classes. When I hurt my ankle and couldnt get up, the ice guards were there before any of my group could get to me.
If youve never been, the best advice is to dress warmly because its rightfully cold in there! The kids had lots of fun and gained a lot of confidence and exercising while skating on the ice!
Good ice. Especially on their North rink. Though corner boards where the zamboni is. Could use some repairs.
Ice was great. Staff was friendly
Went to game from war veterans, good time
The guys from the Global Camp were great. Mike Butters and his team are fantastic!
The place here is great for ice skating but it gets ugly when theres a bunch of kids because they would just skate around and while doing some tricks I almost hit a kid the other day, its safe and the coaches just talk with other people and just continue to skate around, one time I saw a person fell down and he didnt look so well, he was down on the floor for about 5mins and the people working there didnt even notice cause they were to busy talking with the figure skaters, I would say Saturday is the best day because they would have a small portion of the rink for figure skating in the middle of the whole ice rink, it cost $10 per visit, $8 with your own skates, the rentals are free, you can meet some amazing people in there when you skate, some of the golden knights skate in there also, there are some deals where you can buy a bunch of visits for a cheaper price . The place is clean, they offer a snack bar that I tend to find over priced.
