I was blown away by some of the displays and interactivity of the place. The cards that allow you to see 3D images through the app? Ive been to some big name museums and even they dont do anything like that!I gladly bought a shirt from the museum and cannot wait to tell people where I got it. If you are even a tiny bit interested in this kind of stuff you have to stop by.

The Fossil Fish Festival today was a blast! Our kids loved all the information, activities and especially the scavenger hunt. Everyone from UW working at the event was so helpful and friendly. The museum is very cool and worth stopping by (FREE!!). Lots of fossils from Wyo and abroad.

I chanced upon this Museum accidentally and boy was I am amazed at what we found. the University of Wyoming does an excellent job of presenting their archaeological finds as well as history of the area around Wyoming. We were very lucky to meet one of the paleontologists who works in the field around Wyoming and was recently involved with discovering fossils during a pipeline dig. We learned so much in such a short time. The museum is a smaller museum with two levels that you will at least spend an hour and a half to two hours walking around looking at and reading all the information. There fossil skeleton collection and displays Rivals some larger museums. People of all ages will appreciate a visit here. It is a free museum and offers sitting areas with story books and video presentations as well as the normal Museum amenities. If you find yourself even near this area plan a visit.

This place was amazing. Its bonded interested in my six-year-old and dinosaurs that lasted over a year. The displays are beautiful their Dynamic. Some of the displays are set up to look almost like artwork. Plus its very exciting theres a good chance that one of the actual archaeologist that are working on staff will come out and talk to you and they will talk as much as you want to talk with them Im very glad this place was on our travels and that my kids got to experience it

Loved it. Much better than anticipated. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was hard to find but the University was doing roadwork. It is definitely recommended that you stop here if you are traveling on I-80 through Wyoming. Youll learn about minerals, archeaology and dinosaurs. This is a must-see if you find yourself staying in Laramie. It is also very kid friendly.

Hard to park and find if youre not familiar with the campus, but it was a good 30 minute stop with the 8 yr old, and we enjoyed walking the dog around the vast green grass park like lawns and looking at the interesting architecture of the various college buildings. Like others have said, its not really worth a trip to Laramie just for this, but if you combine with the many other museums in town you can create an interesting day.

While I wouldnt go to Laramie just for the museum, its a great way to spend 30-45 minutes. They have a unique sand exhibit which has topographic map lines and water images projected on top of the sand. Changing the sand pattern shows how water will flow which is probably the best demonstration of the effects of elevation that Ive ever seen.Additionally, many of the exhibits such as mineral descriptions and fossils are quite engaging. Given that it is a free museum, its absolutely worth checking out if you are near the University of Wyoming

This is a really fun place to go if you have visitors in town. Its free and easy to get to if youre on the UW campus. Theres an interactive sandbox with a topographical map thats really cool and fun for children. I took a kid here while babysitting and it was a good educational activity to get him out of the house. The exhibits are really well done and are about Wyoming geography specifically which is pretty awesome. Ive done a tour here with a class and the students who work here are very knowledgeable.

Even more fun and informative today than it was when I first visited on a field trip as a kid decades ago.
