Rich & Jana set up a tour just for us in early October 2018 as we were in Laramie visiting just after the season had closed. We spent quite a while out with the horses...and it was just a perfect experience. So beautiful out there...words dont do it justice. Cant wait to go back for another visit.

Fun experience at the mustang open house.

I have stayed in the beautiful cabin several times in the last 5 years. It is my happy place, a place I go to have a break from a busy life. I have brought a friend or two, my husband and my kids. We always have an amazing time. Jana and Richard the most wonderful people and the extended family is always warm and welcoming. Make this a “must do” on your bucket list!! The gorgeous Mustangs are the icing on the cake!!

What a great experience! Shad was a great guide and took his time explaining everything to us and we were able to take as many pictures as we wanted. If you ever get to Laramie, I highly recommend this tour!

Visiting Deerwood Ranch and Wild horse EcoSanctuary, in the beautiful Centennial valley close to the Snowy Range and the Medicine Bow Wilderness, was one of the highlights of our trip to Wyoming. Jana and Rich were very warm and welcoming hosts for our tour of their wild horse EcoSanctuary. Rich was an amazing tour guide and storyteller. On the journey out across their land he shared many warm, touching, and humorous stories about his experience working closely with the wild horses. He was very informative about the wild horses, and the process involved in creating and managing a wild horse sanctuary. I had the opportunity to spend some time close to the horses; it’s an experience that I will remember for some time. They are truly wild horses in spirit and full of curiosity for the visitors that come to see them! Rich was careful to make sure we were not in harms way during the visit and yet he was able to bring us quite close to the horses - allowing us to experience them in the natural setting that they have created for them. I highly recommend visiting the sanctuary and taking the tour. It is one of the few wild horse Ecoscantruaries in the world.

Stunning scenery, beautiful animals, friendly staff, luxury ranch cabins, wish we could have stayed longer
