The view from the park was outstanding. Porta potties availableCrossed street to hike Green Mountain. Hikers beware...SO many bikes on this trail made it a bit of a trial! I finally got so tired of moving out of the way, I stopped that, then let them figure out how to get around me!!
Great park, nice doggies and people. Its on a pretty steep hill and the parking lot is a bit of a walk to the gate...dogs nearly pull me down the hill to get there. Ha
Beautiful views! There are benches everywhere with plenty of informational signs. There is also a dog park and some picnic tables. Pretty cool park to walk around!
This is a great dog park. There are two sides of the park which is helpful! In the summer the water fountain works so there is plenty of water. They have a small agility course the dogs love. The owners have been great and responsive if there are pups not getting along. Plus, beautiful view! It is higher and open space so could get colder and windy at times.
This is a great space with great views but it is on a decent size hill and it’s covered with rocks. Not sure if there is a reason for this but it rips up the pup’s pads. Also- the entry system isn’t safe during Covid. The gates are hard to open and you have to pull a chain off of the pole. The time my hands are on the chain that hundreds of people have touched isn’t acceptable during this virus situation. If this is fixed and the rocks swept away, I’d give 5 stars for sure.
Be careful with this park, no one pays attention to their dogs. My dog was crying in fear as the bigger dogs were hunting him down. I had to do the yelling for other people. Because of the steep hill you can possibly fall if trying to get your dog from a dangerous situation. Everyone there just sat and watched as my dog was getting bullied. If you have a smaller dog do not come here. My dog is close to 40 pounds and that was way too small for the atmosphere.
Great park! Lot of beautiful views of the foothills! Went here with a girl I was dating and it was super pleasant. Although she dumped me like a week after that which made me sad. Oh . What does this have to do with the park? Not sure. But I thought youd like to hear Great park tho!
One of the better dog parks in the greater Denver area. Theres a good amount of parking, trails to jog or bike on, and the view is beautiful. The dog park has different sections, which is nice if you dont want to be included in the big area with a bunch of other dogs and their owners---but why *wouldnt* you want to be surrounded by other dogs?! The larger/main section of the dog park has a few benches strewn throughout and a square bench with a tree in the middle. Also, at the bottom of the hill in the main area there are a few training ramps for the dogs to enjoy.I like coming here with my pupper, especially to enjoy the scenery and contemplate lifes many questions. Or, yknow, talk to people, if thats more your thing.
I would have given it 5 stars. Today was my very first day there ever, with my 3 dogs (weimaraner puppy, giant schnauzer puppy and miniature schnauzer). Just got through the gate and a couple of young people with 2 pit bulls were lazy n just sitting at the tree, letting their pits go after and growl n bark at every new dog entering the park.Numerous times both parties had to pull their pits off other dogs and leash them.Heaven forbid they go away from the entrance and actually walk their dog. They never reprimanded their dogs for being aggressive to other dogs who were JUST ENTERING THE DOG PARK INITIALLY.My initial first impression wasnt good, however the dog park is amazingly set up.Could use double gates (buffer zone) in the entrance so dogs dont escape.
Must have one of the best views in America for a dog park. By the way, there is no poop fairy. Clean up after your dog. Note: keep your eye on the parking lot before entering ~500 yards downhill out of site, its a popular place for smash and grabs.
Fun doggie park. My guy always enjoys it here. Lots of space, room to fetch and chase, and even some skills toys to try out. Some shade for human friends. Water for pooches, but always good to bring your own these days. Fun in dry weather. It can get muddy in wet winter weather, so be prepared for the trip home.
Nice roomy park. Water for the dogs and people. Decent views from the area. A separate area for small dogs and puppies.
I love this dog park. Its clean, a lot of space for dogs to run around also a lot of regulars which is great because Millie has dog friends now.
Nice bike path through the neighborhood. Easy access to dirt trails on green mountain for mtn biking.
Nice and open and great views. But rocks near the entrance are hard on my dogs paws.
We love this dog park! It took us a minute to figure out how to get to the fenced in areas, as theyre at the bottom of a long trail (or, alternatively, several sets of stairs). When you park, you can walk straight ahead through a big pavillion and down some stairs, or you can bear to the left and walk down a path that cuts around and leads to the entrance to the fenced in areas. There are two sides to the fenced in area, and although theyre not marked for dog size, there is a sort of unspoken agreement among everyone that the right side is more chill while the left side is for more energetic dogs, so small dogs tend to fare more easily on the right side. The right side is more wide open for exploring and solitary exploration, while the left side has agility equipment and plenty of shrubs & trees that are good for keep-away and hiding.Keep in mind, the park itself is on a hillside. The entirety of the park is not ideal for anyone who has trouble taking stairs or navigating inclines - definitely check it out beforehand if youre concerned about accessibility. On the upside, there are some lovely benches and open area at the top right by the parking lot, so the park has something for everyone. The views are always beautiful and everyone weve met is super friendly. I do echo the advice of another google reviewer - bring water! The water isnt on year-round, and even when it is, the fountain is outside the fenced in area. We bring a gallon jug (filled when the water is off, empty when the fountain is on) and then fill the communal water bowls our get out our small portable one. Our girls love running up and down the hills so they get thirsty! Youll want to make sure that the humans in your group stay hydrated, too, so come prepared.
Nice park for walk with dog. No lakes so these arent any geese or mosquitoes, which is why I love it and drive out of my way to go there. Lol
This dog park is probably the best one I have ever been to. The dogs are very friendly and have lots of room to run and play. the sweeping views of DTC and the front range are the icing on the cake for this park.
Probably the best dog park in the area short of Cherry Creek.
Great picnic for dogs and owners...beautiful view
I havent been to them all, but best dog park Ive been to in Denver!
Beautiful and peaceful place to take a walk or take your dogs.
What a beautiful place to hike in several directions and take the foothills of the Rockies.
Biggest and hands down best dog park to visit. So big there can be 20 plus people with pets and your still have plenty of room to play. Training jumps tunnels and ramps are there for use as well as watering stations and cleaning poop stations. Also had 2 separate areas for less active or shy pets
This is an excellent park for your dog and you to get an aerobic workout.Really big east and south-facing slopes in the near foothills have a great solar angle and provide plenty of exercise space.Theres also a few tables and benches to hang out on and stare at your phone if youre so inclined.Kudos to the county and to others who developed this terrific park!
Great dog park. It has some props at the bottom of one side for training and has a open area on another for fun play.
Too many people paying NO attention to their animals.
The dog park was fine, however, it is missing one of the entrance gates. So there is no double gate. You have to really be careful when entering and exiting. Keep a good eye on your dog if they are a runner.
Cool dog park with great views
Nice views! View of the mountains and of the city. Nice trails in the area as well for people who dont have fur babies. If you do have dogs, the dog park is clean and scenic.
Fabulous dog park great people
Good spot for the dogs to run and play, but it should have more trees ..
Beautiful view of red rocks. Friendly people and dogs. Responsible owners. Mostly drama free days, but it is a big dog park with busy mornings of up to 30 dogs so if youre coming please have full control of your dog. If youre worried, start at a smaller park and work up. However, theres beautiful pathways throughout if your dog is more of a solo runner. Im here most mornings these days. Love this park.
Used to be our go-to dog park. We had adopted an 8-yr-old Sheltie mix, and she loved coming here (we no longer have her). The number of dogs varies according to the time of day and the weather, but usually a decent amount for her -- not too many, which would overwhelm her, and not too few (unless its raining). The scenery is GORGEOUS and generally the dog owners are nice and respectful. Only once or twice has there been an owner (two different ones) who didnt seem to recognize his dog was being overly aggressive with the other dogs and didnt have the sense to take his dog elsewhere.Drawbacks: Its very rocky, so you have to watch where you step not to turn an ankle. Its also a steep incline/decline, which is great if youre in shape and a real haul if youre not. Even the sidewalk leading down to the dog park is quite a climb back up to the parking lot, so be prepared.Water fountains are right outside the dog park entrance, and there are stainless steel water bowls of various sizes you can fill up for the dogs (which often get knocked over). Theres also a shelter right outside the gate to the dog park, if you really need some shade; also a small stand of trees at the very bottom of the hill ... with the necessary climb back up, of course.Oh, and a small agility course for those interested.Overall a really nice dog park, though if they could clear all the rocks it would be great. All those rocks on the dogs feet cant feel too good, especially the active dogs chasing balls and Frisbees.
We are from out of state and decided to give this dog park a try. You park at the top of the hill and walk down the stairs to the gate but the walk itself was jaw dropping. Two seperated areas that we couldnt really tell what size group was supposed to be in what area but we ended up on the big side (right side). Lots of room to run but dirt and rocks to get dirty on with no area to get water.e
Came to see the fireworks and was pleased with the rolling hills and views .
Great place to bring your dogs.
My favorite dog park so far
This is one of the best parks in all the foothills
Cute little park with a dog park and great views!
Clean & spacious, it gets kinda windy because its on a hill but the puppers dont mind. They just need to add another gate so fluff babies dont try to escape so much.
Blu taking on Dog park
This park offers great views of the southwestern Denver metropolitan area, as well as the Dakota Hogbacks and other foothills including a peek at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The dog park is a great place to let your furry family members run and play off leash. Access to Green Mountain is available, and links to the numerous biking lanes, trails, and paths in the area.
Lots of room for your dog to run and play. I take my dog every weekend he loves it.
Huge park with 2 different gated areas for the pups to run around freely off leash. And if someones dog isnt being nice then you can take them over to the other side. Sadly Lakewood doesnt really have off leash dog parks so its nice to have this one nearby!
Its a nice park. Quite big. Theres limited shade, is my only big thing. Seems like thered be more done with trees and landscaping for shade in mind, given the high rates of skin cancer here. Cant blame the park, of course, but gotta start somewhere!
A decent dog park for owners to sit and dogs to run in. Its a lot larger than it initially looks, sloping down a hill. It was well maintained on our visit.
Two separate sections, both enclosed. Water fountain nearby but right outside of the enclosure. Everyone seemed friendly and a few small dogs. There was a gentleman there who assaulted a female dog owner who told him to not bring his aggressive dog to the dog park. The woman backed into her intentionally with her car. Be aware of them. Very dangerous people.
This park overlooks the city. Awesome view!
Very nice park
Shadow loves it here and there are so many well behaved dogs and dog owners here, that I feel like as long as we live in lake wood this will be our dog park!
Great views from high up.
Clean and most dogs are surprisingly very friendly. Had my Corgi pup, Lucy out there and she was loving it, even with the big dogs!
Great big space. Not really recommended after a snow storm. Very icy
Great dog park with amazing views of Denver. Two large enclosed areas. Excellent for fetch, and socializing (both Dogs and People).
Great views, good dog park and a fun place to walk or hike
I would recommend anyone who wants to see the beauty of Morrison, Golden, Littleton, and Wheatridge to visit this spot. It is peaceful and the view is breathtaking. This park displays a natural garden throughout; the whereabouts of different plants are displayed on an informative wood display in off one of the paths of the park, making a simple, free alternative to visiting the Denver Botanic Gardens. My dog had fun meeting other visitors, running throughout both sections of the park and cooling down in a pool of mud. The trip was well worth it!
This is the first time I brought my dog to this park and Absolutely loved it!
Nice shady pavilion area.
This is a nice big dog park with an agility course. People are good about keeping track of their dogs.
Nice dog park.
Dogs love it. Kind of muddy. All the dog owners were great as well
I usually love coming to this beautiful and crowded park, dogs and people are always friendly. However, I had a horrible experience yesterday when a mans dog attacked my 9 mo. old collie twice in the two minutes that we were there. I had to leave immediately and in my opinion, the man with the aggressive dog should have left. I guess this can happen anywhere, just keep an eye on your pup because I’m not sure if this man and his dog frequent this park or not. Keep your dogs home if they don’t play well with others! My poor girl is always so friendly to everyone, she didn’t even see it coming :( he hit his dog to punish it for attacking mine which is probably why he’s super aggressive.
Love this place! My pup always has an amazing time here!
Came to watch flag football. Nice park with nice facilities. Very big so get good directions on where you need to go in the park itself or you could be wondering around a while
Too many people taking their dogs and not keeping accountable of the pups. Sad to see people not interested in their dogs....
Great open space right on the foothills. Fenced dog park. Everything is fairly well manicured. Very quiet.
My dog loved coming here. It gets muddy though, so be prepared for that after rain or snow.
Even though we live 45 minutes up the 285 corridor we try to bring our pups here twice a month. The park is always full friendly dog people and friendly pups. Our husky loves running around the large fenced in areas with her new pack everytime we go. Be warned sometimes it can get muddy.
Great place, clean, accessible and safe
Big park, good dogs, lots of space and a good mountain vibe. One of my favorite places to run the hound.
While I often take my dog here to the dog park to play with other dogs and walk I get the opportunity to enjoy the views of the mountain peaks and local plant varieties displays.
Forsberg Park is an awesome place to bring your dog to the dog park. There are two very large fenced-in areas. One for the nice dogs and one for the naughty dogs. Theres plenty of space to run with the pack. The views from forsberg Park are great if you walk up to the very top theres a picnicking area and you have views of Red rocks and Green Mountain from up there.
Nice park, I just wish dog owners would take responsibility for cleaning up after their dogs.
I love all the obstacles because it makes it fun for my dog and myself.
Beautiful views, walking path, dog park and picnic shelter. Also a good-sized parking lot with a trail under Alameda to the Green Mountain trails.
Such a beautiful park!
A larger park than others Ive been to. Has 2 sides, both are great, that are on a beautiful hill in green mountain. On good days the view is quite nice. A couple gazebos with tables in case you want to enjoy the view without a dog. Some walking trails are also around with green mountain just across the street (good for hiking). Friendly people with friendly dogs are almost always there. Pokestops and gyms if you play are there. Due to lakewood, you need a leash from car to park, but once in the park no leashes are allowed. Usually there are doggy bags but sometimes they run out so I suggest you bring some just in case. Bathrooms are there as well.
Im sure its great in the summer
Decently sized dog park with an agility course. My dogs certainly arent smart enough to tackle that but it looks fairly challenging. There are two sides which can accommodate the crazy dogs and the calmer dogs. It was pretty muddy the last time we were there which was unfortunate, but they do offer water for the doggies and places to sit for the owners. Conveniently located off C470
A great place to spend time with a good friend
Love this place! Also has an amazing dog park.
We love this dog park. Owners are typically kind and responsible. Plenty of room.
Great place where you can go adopt a free dog. The employees get mad when you try and take certain ones though. Got a new corgi and a husky mix last week. They come with collars, names and everything!
Dogs loved it! Great views
Great dog park!!!
Nice dog park with great views.
Great place for dogs to stretch their legs. Very friendly people and dogs there.
