Veterans Park, formerly known as Village Pond Park, was re-dedicated after more than a year of redesigning, draining and installing . I havent been to this park in several years because it was often over run with ducks and geese along with their numerous droppings. The look and smell was definitely unappealingThe redesigned park now features meandering sidewalks, an updated lake shore, a butterfly garden and a veterans monument to honor members of each branch of the armed forces - living up to the parks new name. On our visit yesterday, we found a clean and well maintained park. The village put considerable effort to scare away the wildfowl and we saw only three ducks in the water. We were pleasantly surprised to even find a small heron on the island. Do not bring food for the ducks as a hefty fine is possible.The walking path was about 1/2 mile long with plenty of places st stop and rest or enjoy the view. New trees were planted as well as numerous plants and flowering bushes. There were several picnic tables also. No parking lot but plenty of street parking.

Beautiful newly renovated park. Only issues - wish there a play ground and maybe have some of the tables be shaded. We loved it!

Small park kinda tucked away and not at all crowded when I was there. Plenty of seating with park benches scattered across the park.Water in the center is relatively clean for a park lake. No sign of ducks or geese so that is probably why. The park is actively trying to keep them away with anti-bird devices like blow up owl-like spheres hanging around.Theres some bird houses in one corner and a little butterfly garden.Nice park to go have a quiet picnic or walk.No parking lot or structure but plenty of street parking. Park along ridge route for easiest entry.

We celebrated 2 birthdays today with family from San Clemente. It was the perfect meeting place for lunch and festivities. First time here and loved the memorial here on September 11.

Great space and connects on ridge route to a train under pass.The general area has great playgrounds too!

Beautiful clean park with green spaces and trees. Paved paths for strollers and wheelchairs. Dirt path through greenery, birdhouses, natural landscaping. Dog friendly! No playground equipment or restrooms.

I used to frequent this park quite often. TERRIBLE REMODEL!!!! where did the geese go that LIVED there? it was their home. Shame on the homeowners for not protecting their avion neighbors!!! Or what happened to all the turtles? Exterminated. This park is a disgrace and shows how destructive and harmful gentrification is for nature. Shame on all of you the gooses were the prime attraction. Innocent animals died because of you. Smh! Like they say... there is a special place in hell for you who stood by and robbed the water foul of their home.

This is a beautifully redone walking park that surrounds a lake. Benches, picnic tables, shady trees and a beautiful memorial to those who have served our nation. I love coming to walk through this park

Looks brand new. Its definitely not a natural park, but its a well-done man-made one. Lots of paths, lots of benches, plenty of water and dozens of picnic tables.Parking is decent. The walking paths wind beautifully among the trees and a man-made lake. There are two water attractions which make you feel cool just looking them.If you want to bring your blankets down for a picnic or nice rest in the park, theres plenty of green grass. I wouldnt say its the smoothest grass Ive ever walked on, but theres quite a bit of it.Safety is always a concern for me Id like to say that I felt very secure here. Its very open to both ends of the park and theres quite a bit of traffic that goes by so that you never feel like youre in a secluded place alone. Lots of dog walkers and people walkers. Everyone seemed nice, respectful, and courteous.When I go to this park again? I definitely would!If you enjoyed my review, please LIKE below. Thank you.

Clean, relaxing and plenty of areas to picnic. Either using the tables or bringing your own blanket and chairs. The park is great! Grab some lunch and head there for a day of fun and r & r.

Recently revitalized and upgraded. We enjoyed our visit. This park has a nice walking path around the lake and very relaxing.

Since its remodel it looks really nice no worrying about where or what you will step on Today there was no wildlife in sight. Regardless, it has benches to sit down. Nice to walk around and listen the water. Portions of the grass are still squared off. Water has small fishes. What was really nice is the memorial dedicated to the armed forces of our nation. P.S. as it is notice at the entrances: Do Not Feed Wildlife. $100 fee will wait for you.

This is a great park. It used to be a park for birds and as nice as that sounds in theory, the reality was that it was unfit for people (the bird droppings alone were out of control). So when the renovated it, the was a strong emphasis placed on bird control and now the park is a wonderful place for a nice walk or picnic. Of course, Ive of the coolest things they did was a memorial to our veterans (we love you veterans!). Definitely worth a visit.

A place where I can go for a walk while reading and praying to my Almighty God and sometimes using their public exercise equipment while enjoying the fresh air.

It has a very pleasant relaxing atmosphere. It used to be just a park with a little pond. Now it has a pond and benches and a play area for children. I enjoy spending time there doing homework at the benches and just relaxing in general.

Recently refurbished. A lot of effort is being made to keep Canada geese out, so please dont bring food. Also theres no fishing.

Beautifully redone! Well lit at dusk, definitely an upgrade with the remodel.....BUT giant piles of geese poop everywhere on the walking path around the lake! Even worse than before the remodel. Literally cannot take one step without fancy footwork to avoid geese droppings....did I mentioned EVERYWHERE! and to add insult to the poop experience, there were no more fish in the entire lake, they must of drained the lake and killed them all during reconstruction....sad, please restock some aquatic life back to the lake.

Beautiful park, very nice to sit down and have lunch at on one of the many tables. Only concern is there didnt seem to be any tables with shade. Will wait 10-20 years for the trees to grow in, then will return.

Very nice job done on this park. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of people who were enjoying the park this morning. Hoping that they will be able to keep the bird droppings from covering the grounds so that we can continue to enjoy it. They also need to get the camera system online. They have already had some vandalism and someone lit something on fire and threw it in the trash can. Sad that this has already occurred in its first week of opening. Thank you Lake Forest for putting in the time and effort to try and keep our outdoor community updated and useful for its residents.

Its very sad that the Lake Forest budget cannot afford to keep up this beautiful new park. I guess when you have unplanned expenses arise like the homeless issue, we all pay the price.

Small park...just a few benches near the pond and 1 or 2 picnic tables. Lots of ducks and geese and their poop. A little bit of lawn but most of it slopes toward the pond which dominates the park.

This is a lovely place especially when the Jacaranda trees are in bloom, to walk your dog.

My family refers to this park as duck poop park for a reason. Mostly pretty small area, not much to do as there is limited grassy area, if you dont mind that the birds there are trained basically to beg for food. And theyre not nice about it.

This is a great peaceful park, to walk around, take pictures, and bring the family out for a picnic.
