Best place in the world to have three birthday parties and one

I mean, its a public park... Its kinda gross... But most public parks are. That being said, the ducks are still there and lovely, and they have added more pavilions. Just... Stay away from the bathrooms...

Girard Park has definitely gone through a nice upgrade over the years. Ive seen it change since I was a child. And I thoroughly enjoyed my visit the other day. They have a lot of new playground activities for the kids. The racquetball court has been redone, which is nice. The walking trails are better. The inside rec area has greatly improved. Love the over water pavillion near the ducks. Lots of seating. A lot of fun for any age and they always have multiple events going on.

Great park. They have multiple play areas for kids and lots of recreation equipment.

Nice little jogging trail. The restrooms leave much to be desired.

Due to Covid we needed a place to eat breakfast. My wife found the park on Google and we couldnt have been happier. This park is awesome

Crowded and no cleaning being done between kids. I wipe down myself before kids got on swings and equipment

Love this park, love the little water fountain thing,and the grass you can just hangout on. Nice park always packed though. They could Leo it cleaner for the ducks,there were bags and trash in the water,and some people could raise their kids right to not torment and throw things at the ducks.

Large park to bring the family. My kids love to go feed the ducks in the pond. Has small splash pad for kids and nice jungle gym with swings

Great place for yoga, I hope soon they clean out the pool area side for like swimming classes and stuff.

The park is currently under renovations. Cant wait to see the new progress. I love those trails. Get some in folks, its good for you.

Fun park to take your kids. It even has a splash pad. Walking Track and a duck pond. They have something fun going on in this every weekend.

I wish the water was on for the splash pad for my kids to cool off

Wonderful place! we love it! The lake, watching the ducks sunbathing .... perfect place, trees and lots of fresh air. Gratitude

Great spot to to go for a bike ride. There is a nice short path near the lake that is 1/3 mile that you can ride after doing the longer trail just to change things up and check out the scenery around the lake. Watch out for ducks, squirrels and neutria rats!

This is a nice park to walk through and relax at. Bring some bread along with you so you can feel the ducks!

Nice place...doesnt matter the occasion. From romantic walks to family fun time. There was a snow cone truck there to sell you cool treats.

Parks and Recreation in central Lafayette, LA. is great for variety of activities!

So much to do there: play, run the track, walk thet track, feed the ducks, enjoy the shade, work out.... I can go on and on, but the one thing I dont like is that people are smoking everywhere. Just because they dont care about their health doesnt mean I dont care about my own and my children.

I love this park! Its always nice to go to a park with people. No matter the time, this park always has people and I think thats a good thing. They have two tracks. One is over a mile long. They have a pond with lots of ducks and I do see people fishing every now and then. They also have plenty of college kids that setup their hammocks and relax almost every day. There is a large pool that is open in the summer. It has a diving platform that looks real cool.Inside the rec center is a large basketball court and I wouldnt be surprised if there is also a weight room in there, like at Thomas Park. Outside there is also basketball courts, raquetball courts, a climbing wall, playgrounds and a splash pad for the kids. This a cool park with plenty of space, located right in the middle of the city. They also have events here year round. The best event is probably the Festival at the end of the summer. Awesome park to have in our city!

Always a pleasure to bring the family, kids, or grandkids to have and afternoon or morning of fun. Even a great place for an evening stroll with a loved one.

We set up the hammock and camp out for the day near the pond, great place for the family.

This recreation center is surrounded by a peaceful environment great for a large group of people, a nice couple on a date or even those looking for solitide.

This park could be a lot nicer if someone came out there and actually maintained it and put down rubber padding instead of having everything be cedar chips. It rains way too much here for just cedar chips in mud. I dont understand one of the parking areas either its blocked off where the concrete sidewalk is so youre forced to walk through mud to get to the basketball courts and play area?! There is also a rooster loose in the younger kids play area. That one was the first on me.

I really hope they get the public pool issues fixed because its a very fun social place. The times you can go swimming are never the same as on the signs, i had to pay full price just to stay in the pool area with my 11 year old and the staff hounded us the whole time, they even had a problem with us having laid 2 towels out to dry off on. The pool is a great place but the kids running it do what they want when they want and its a turn off. We havent been back yet.

My son and I saved a baby duck from a crow it was pretty eventful !

We come here every other year for my wifes family reunion. They rent the pavilion and it has everything you need(restrooms, water, power, tables, trash cans, fans). There are multiple playgrounds for the kiddies, ball fields and courts, and jogging paths. If we lived here wed frequently visit this park.

Always been a childhood stable. The park has gotten so big including a water attraction for the kids to play in, fishing is allowed, basketball court and a lot more

Love the gated little childrens area. It even has a rubber floor (and its outside) awesome!!

Plenty of space to walk on really nice trails with a number of vent use 4 different sports as well as playground area with plenty of activities for small children.

The weather were beautiful

A lot of homeless tend to hang around here so just be careful when walking around dusk. They have some nice events from time to time, but I dont recommend using the restrooms here. They usually arent very clean or dont have toilet paper.

Had a blast chasing my Grandson. Lots of memories here.

I took a church girls group swimming, they enjoyed! It cost $4 per person. I lived the fact that they had 2 lifeguards on duty

Love the way the City of Lafayette has invested in the health of its residents. This park keeps getting better and better with new additions. Great outdoor workout equipment. Outdoor play area for kids and grown-ups alike

Very nice park. My kids love going here. The splash pad is kind of small, but so nice during the summer. I love walking my dog on the track around the park. The only thing I dont like is the bathrooms are dirty and locked most of the time.

I only gave 3 stars because the city needs to work on keeping the water clean for the ducks.

Nice park. It is very large and provides ample space to have a large celebration of any kind. Boil crawfish, BBQ, and have fun. There is a large pool at the park also.

The park itself is big and there are lots of cool things to do with the kids. Theres a rec center, basketball court, duck pond, snowball truck, the playground equipment with soft flooring type material. Safe, age appropriate swings and a cute little fountain to play in. Although extremely crowded every time we go which can be a little stressful if you have little ones running around.

Been here many times! Always a favorite for a run, walk, or even a picnic. A really fun park.

The walking track around the pond is nice for a walk or run and people are usually considerate for the most park.. lot to offer and located on campus .... family fun... run or just a stroll will definitely sooth the soul.

Needs skatepark

Feed the ducks some bread during the week. Lots of folks get out there to feed them on weekends but during the week, they dont get enough. Theres a day old bakery shop St Antoine and like Pierce St. (Approximately), a dollar a loaf! Theyll get so happy and do the duck dance/ fly around skimming the Lake. Make a duck happy today!

Center was renovated a few years ago. Looks great, several rooms for diverse usage. Friendly, helpful staff. Great activity schedule. Go enjoy!

Amazingly beautiful park, great for everyone. Plenty of things for kids to do. Shaded cover for picnics/BBQ. Theres often events happening. Beautiful little lake wish fishing opportunities. Perfect spot for picture opportunities.

Attended a crayfish boil. Food great, too many flies. Area should be sprayed more to reduce the insects.
