This is an all seasons park to visit! It has a sweet nature center, cute playground, the disc golf course is great, nice decks to enjoy the pond and a large and small loop tracks which I love, a great place to do some cross country skiing and snow shoeing. They also do events and if I was getting married, I would do it here. They made an outdoor rock seating area in a half circle which would be beautiful for an outdoor wedding if allowed. Oh and they have a nice new dog park too!

Beautiful, quiet, local, nature area to walk, or just bring the kids. Have a nature center that is nice for the kids. Also dog friendly, which is wonderful and come here often to exercise, walk the dog and enjoy the peaceful enviorment. NIce pond and path that circles it.

Fantastic park. You can actually see live wildlife like frogs, snakes, bunnies and so on. Its good for walking as well. Consistent catch and release small pond.Very nice nature history focus museum with a great friendly staff. Highly recommend for the nature fan and families.

This space was easy to get to and had decent parking. The playground looked nice, although we didnt use it at all. Staff was very helpful. Around dusk the bugs do tend to get quite bad around the water, as to be expected.

This facility is a hidden treasure for peace and quiet, with a country feel. Going there brings back childhood memories of living on the farm.The County or City that keeps this facility as clean as it is. My hats off to you. There are new playgrounds for the kids to play. 2 large dog parks, clean walking paths. This facility is a perfect place to relax and let nature absorb all your stress.

This is a wide open park. There are many walking paths to enjoy, but not alot of shade. But, I would like more benches along the trails to rest occasionally. It also has a large fenced in dog run. A nice covered area with picnic tables and a pond with various fish and frogs, with a catch-release policy. There is a small playground, but not allowed to use it during CoVid. Our 5 yr old granddaughter loves to go there.

Beautiful park, plenty of outdoor opportunities whether you want to walk, play or exercise. Indoor space has animal exhibits aimed mainly at younger guests.

A beautiful pavillion, well maintained trails around scenic ponds, and a small nature center with numerous exhibits make this park worth the trip. Its isolation is part of the charm: aside from the occasional train, all you hear are the sounds of nature. There is a dog park and a playground for family excursions, too.

Frequently visit here for the dog park. In order to get in your must have an annual membership which you can get from the Willowhaven Office. The park is very clean and all the dog owners pick up after their dogs. If there is a lot of rain prepare for the grounds to be flooded, but it will dry out within a few days usually. Would be nice if they included some water features in the dog park for the dogs to be able to swim and cool down in the summer heat.

This is an excellent educational place to have in the community. They do great educational presentations. No cost to c9me in this building. Craft projects available as well.

Went to baby shower there. Big building, nice and clean. Decor was not for me, stuffed animals from area, other wise nice place. Great place to go walking with you dog. Just bring a bag.

Wonderful prairie park with a walking trail, pond, playground, nature center, disc golf, dog park, workout stations, and more. They have various happenings at the main building throughout the year.

The park is very family friendly. The path around the pond is concrete, so small children or or others that find dirt paths challenging can easily enjoy the experience. Wild flowers, birds, and a catch and release fishing pond add to the charm. Play sets are very well constructed and my grandsons love them.

Beautiful little place for a smaller party setting. Walking paths around the building & fenced in dog parks on other side of parking lot. Very spacious property.

I like that you can pop in whenever and hang out for as long as you like. Its free to visit and a lot for little hands to do there. They usually have a craft or coloring set out in a table to do as well. The have a lot to explore outside too. Very nice place.

This is a nice nature preserve it has a handful of trails that are paved/limestone. There is also a moderate size pond. I was excited to see there is a disc golf course here but I didnt have time to check it out. The dog park is decent sized but the best part about this place in my opinion is the birds. The sounds while walking around are really something. There were many different species all over the place

Beautiful well kept area. The kids love going and walking around the pond and playing at the park.

If you want to take a walk outside where it is nice a quit then this is the place. Paved walking trails, places to sit and relax. Went on one of the coldest of the year 20 degrees and had a great walk. Trees we all frosted and beautiful early in in the morning.

My daughter loves going there and play on the fun playground they have. It has a bunch of things for her to climb on. The only negative thing is that there is no slide. She also loves playing with the nature toys that are in side the Nature Center.

Has a nice building to learn about nature, great for a few hours visit. I dont have a dog, but the large Dog Runs look amazing. There is a small playground structure for kids, and since its not busy most of the time, its good for small children to play on. The Frisbee golf course is used often, at least each of the many times Ive been there. The walking trails (or the Human Runs as I call them) are great for quick 30-45 minute walks, runs or biking. The only negative Ive found is the area gets flooded (theres a pond) easily with a medium to heavy rain, sometimes washing out parts of the trails and the frisbee golf course.

Im only commenting on the disc golf course, but it was challenging and fun! Concrete pads and new baskets were a positive. The negatives were that its a little difficult to know where the next hole is, and it was appropriately muddy for a round in late March.

Beautiful place! Hopefully they either expand the playground or add a splash pad or something. It’s a great place to take the kids though; they can run, ride their bikes and use their imagination! I have taken so many beautiful pictures here too!

Omg beautiful place to have your wedding reception and baby shower and for what ever you need it for. I was there last year for a wedding and it was so beautiful and the way it was all set up. And theres also un upstairs. Just so beautiful.

Theyve done some recent renovations to the place. The walking path is real nice now.

Its one of the best kept secrets in Kankakee county. If you looking something that is rustic with a country charm Willowhaven is the place. There outdoor space is perfect for ceremonies and the grounds are perfectly kept up. Check it out, you will be presently surprised.

Really shaping up nicely! Trails, frisbee golf, dog fenced in areas, and wildlife center

It is a beautiful trail, but its too short. At one point it was very flooded, but they fixed it up very nicely. Inside they have a nature center as well.

Had an adventure with momo the guinea pig, a snake and bunnies also a hissing cockroach. so much fun I highly recommend an afternoon with nature.

I visit this park and nature center very often with my child. There are trails around the ponds where you can walk, run, and bike. They have 3 fishing piers that are brand new and brand new playground just built this summer as well as a new dog park! Frisbee golf and a small outdoor exercise area were recently installed as well. The nature center is very fun and have intelligent staff working there who are great with children. Many events go on here that can be found and registered for on the bourbonnais park district website. Keep up the awesome work! Visitors - keep the park clean for fellow nature lovers!

A great place to play disc golf, take a walk, or to bring your dog to the dog park.

This place is a gem. There is a pond, playground for kids, dog park, nature center, frisbee golf, outdoor exercise area, an area for outdoor performances, and a small walking path.There are a ton of frogs here in the summer. The Park District keeps up the place well and has regular events.
