An experience to enjoy. Lots of history and well displayed. During the Christmas Holiday they display decorated trees.

The Kankakee County Museum is an amazing gem. Its a must visit for new and longtime area residents. I recommend it for all ages. Interesting local and war history. The museum is clean and the exhibits are nice with some interactive places. A small gift shop is located here as well. Theres also a one room schoolhouse and Dr. Smalls house on the property. Behind the museum is a cute little trail for exercise. Last, but definitely not least - the staff are very friendly and caring.

Beautiful place. Lots of little photographer spots. Obstacle course/ physical fitness course is basic but a pretty walking path. Events year round. Worth checking out

I love going here. I dont miss the Christmas trees exhibit . Its a tradition I do ever year. So hard to chose the best ones. The staff is outstanding and could get lost in there for hours since there is so much to see. If u havent been you gotta go!!!!!

Awesome museum, has displays that talk about the local area. But surprisingly they have really cool History of USA military uniforms from many different wars. Also have some neat local and national sports memorabilia. As well as some amazing sculptures. And much more! Staff is very friendly, highly recommend you check it out.

The Museum is conveniently located near the grade school & the middle school with an athletic park, a track field, soccer field, a playground and a vita-course wooded jogging trail connecting all three buildings. This area is a beautiful place to get out and get some fresh air and exercise.

It was great I will be back. But Id like to see in the other buildings as well

Staff was very nice. My niece is having a baby shower there and never knew you could rent the place out. I am now a member and plan to visit more often. The grounds are beautiful.

This is a really nice museum if you like going to Kankakee and being in Kankakee and knowing things about Kankakee or if youre from around the Kankakee area or Kankakee county you like the Kankakee river. I recommend going to this museum if you ever want to learn anything more about the things that the museum has to offer.

Art, history and impressive displays! Particularly nice in the spring bloom or the fall colors in the attached gardens, paths and fitness trails. Take tours of the vintage school house and the Governors mansion during festivals.

Amazing museum, Dont let the tiny building mislead, their collections and staff are amazing!

Nice little museum that accurately exhibits local history. They hold events during the year that are the highlight of the town a strawberry festival and a rhubarb festival. Both have vendors and live band for a nice day. Also included behind the museum is Gov small memorial park. With many nice walking trails in a relatively safe area.

Interesting place to visit. Plus its always nice to go for a walk in the back.

Lots of info about the history of the area! Also really enjoyed getting to go inside the one room school house they have on site! The ladies there are knowledgeable and very friendly!

The events are fun. But not much to do there. Once you walked around this place a couple.of times you pretty much got the whole experience of it.

I visited here all the way from Las Vegas, NV to check out the Kankakee County Museum. It would really help to update this place as to artifacts you guys have in here. Heres a good start, how about acknowledging the first black fire chief of Kankakee County perhaps? Not much African American history here.... Although i still look forward to coming back in the future again in the years that come to see what has changed.

Good historical sute, 5/20/18 was the site of the annual rhubarb festival. Nice craft fair and several food vendors. Site of annual strawberry festival 6/3/18.

Closed! Locked up tight as a drum. Web page and door sign said they opened an hour before our arrival. Total waste of time. Local walking her dog said that wasnt unusual. Why bother?

Very pretty grounds for watching birds, squirrel and other small wildlife. The Museum itself has a lot of local history attached to it.
