Lovely walk once we found a way in. Google maps took us to the little point with a lookout, but not too the trails. Seems strange to have this historic place, nowa wildlife sanctuary, in the midst of an industrial area, complete with WWII bunkers. Saw some interesting birds, but no Nene

Nice, quiet place to get away from the crowds. Nice half mile board walk along the beach and thru wetlands. Lots of birds. And its free.

Had no idea that u could walk around behind the fence. To go exploring . Really nice and quite.

Great place for kite- and windsurfing

Maui was very nice a once in a lifetime trip or to come again would not hurt!

So pretty and peaceful

Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to see birds. It is an easy place to walk with no hills and nicely maintained trails/dirt roads. Birds I have sighted include: Nene, Aeo (Hawaiian Stilt), Hawaiian Coot, Hawaiian Duck, Snow Goose, Common Myna, Zebra Dove, Night Heron, Kolea (Pacific Golden Plover)... I have seen deer tracks but no deer.

Beautiful beach located in town. (Kahului)

Actually should have given 5 stars. Went there to see the Hawaiian coot and the stilt, both of which we saw readily. There was a shelter that was clean... Apparently it wasnt always so nice, but it was then. Very easy to find, shouting distance to Costco.

Very clean park. Had clean restrooms and showers. Mostly local families coming for barbeque.

Charming little sanctuary by a very busy road. Why not check it out. Especially appealing to the bird enthusiast.

If you are a keen bird watcher Im sure youd love it. The birds do! For the regular tourist, not much to see.

Wonderful little bird sanctuary in the middle of downtown Kahului Maui. A nice tranquil spot to sit and read a good book.

This place is a amazing stop. Its beautiful and can show you lots of scenery. Its a google place to stop and take pictures!

Beach is great. But locals have turned it into a junk yard and have no respect or pride in it

A nice quiet place to see a few waterbirds. It has 2 entrances on both sides and some little trails if you enter from the beach side Amala Pl. road. The other entrance at Haleakala Road with 10 parking lots has no trials but a small house with 2 benchesActually there is not to much going on.

This is a ecological jewel amongst city structures and power plants. You will see many critter found in Hawaii. It is a nice place to go bird watching if you are in the area.

Can be chilly sometimes but beautiful and peaceful.

A good refuge for taking a lunch you picked up at Tin Roof. Quiet, but can be a bit windy.

You can see some incredible indigenous birds here, like the Hawaiian Stilt for example. If you are lucky, you may see them flying around. Just look for those crazy pink legs of theirs.

What a dump. There is a hobo in the parking lot and there is a two minute walk to a gazebo. Thats it oh lol if you like your smoke stacks theres one in the corner of the pond. At least the water is clean. No birds in site.

Nice, small quiet place to see a few birds. Could use more trails going through in order to see more though.

When we were there we could see only a few birds and all trails were closed. Also the visitor center was not open. Anyway, nice place.

It has been a while since I have been here, but I had thought it has gotten worser, it didnt. It has a fair amount of area enough to be with family and relax.

My school going their I went their already I see a lots of birds and people hate the the small I see is a bunkers and dead people it looks like a old rusty military base in world war two.
