Great park. Very nice to visit with kids. Other parents were very responsible and maintained physical distancing and helped kids to do that as well. Someone was playing music and that was lovely! A hit with my toddler, will visit again!

Its a small park but its nice. There is playground area for kids as with limited activities. Its not as big as Hamilton park. Between the two I would prefer Hamilton park.

Well maintained park. I prefer this one over Hamilton park, as it focusses more on green space and not on tennis courts like Hamilton.

One of my favorite local parks. It’s nicely maintained and has lots of shade. Great for a small stroll outside or for an afternoon lounging on one of the small lawns.

Its a little oásis in the middle of a residential brown stone house in JC.Really a breath of fresh air, the variety of flowers, trees and bushes is just amazing.A well planned park.

On the minus side, just like the City it lives in, parking here can be hard to come by and traffic getting in, through and out can occasionally be frustrating. Theres something odd about fighting humanity in this way to step into nature for a few minutes, but I suppose it does validate the importance of having it here. Also it can attract some unsavory characters, some just being their vulgar selves, some there to prey on the weak, so be careful, and dont venture in after dark. Its technically a 24 hour spot, but Golden Gate After Dark is probably an whole other review which I wont be writing.

The park gardens are beautifully maintained. It is well designed so that different sections give a sense of privacy. Dog runs, places for kids to play, places for adults to sit and read or chat, a gazebo for activities. A weekly farmers market, bi-weekly yoga classes, monthly movies under the stars in summer and other activities bring the community together.

Nice little park in the middle of the city. Come here, relax, take a walk or take your kids to the childrens park here! There is also a dog park area as part of this.

Quiet and beautiful place. It has playground for kids, play-yard for dogs, a small terrace for performances. You can a small birthday party there on the terrace if needed. There a portable library on the side for kids.its basically a box, where people can put some book to share with children.

This park is always a fun go to. Just enough for a great time for the kids but enclosed so you can safely let them run free!!

I often take my dog here. He seems to like it but its not the cleanest of the dog parks out there, especially when and after it rains.

Cute small park. Very quiet and peaceful. People relaxing, walking dogs or kids playing around. They even have farmers market on Saturdays! I am not sure if they do, but could not find any drinking water fountain or restrooms.

Great park for kids! Get there early to avoid the crowds. There are two play areas. One for toddlers and another for slightly older kids. Also a fun place to meet other families!

A good small park for Jogging, walking parks. It has a special pet play area, a small nature library box where you can donate books. Surprisingly well maintained for a community park.

In downtown Jersey city, a park is always welcome, such as Van Vorst. But this park could get some make over in many areas. There is a playground for children that needs improvement. The garden encompassing the park needs a lot of work. The park looks haphazard. Unfortunate.

Beautiful flowers and fauna (DO NOT PICK). Good dog park and place to walk your dog. Some areas of the grass dogs are not allowed, but its easy to find other patches where they are allowed.

Nice little green piece of heaven in downtown Jersey City. Part of the historic part of town with a decent small playground for children. Enough grass patches to have a small picnic. A gazebo in the center of the park. Very family & dog friendly park. Also hosts local farmers market on Saturday mornings during the warm seasons!

A very nice park, plenty of benches to sit and enjoy a day out. There was a Farmers market setting up while I was there, so thats something you may be able to look forward to on weekends. It seems like a good place for children and adults, would recommend if youre looking for a place to hang out and relax for a bit

Favorite park in Jersey City. Dog runs, playgrounds, gorgeous and meticulous gardens.

Love watching the birds in the fountain. Very peaceful. Look out for falling caterpillars!

Wonderful little park for both kids and dogs! Theres also a water park section and for the younger and older kids different areas. The only thing is that the park is open and one should keep an eye on the kids if they arent at the designated play areas. Beautiful trees and benches.

I still love Van Vorst Park. I grew up downtown Jersey City at 283 Varick St. I played many football games in that park growing up. It was designed different back then but I still love the peaceful vibe of that Park. You can just sit there and relax and no one bothers you in Van Vorst Park.

Great accessible park in jersey city. Kids have two sections to play. One has 2 swings for toddlers and 2 swings for bigger kids. The other has slides and playground. There is also a splash pad open from 9 am to 8pm. There is a separate area for a dog park. There is a gazebo and tables you can book to do a picnic as well. Only thing lacking is slides and stuff for toddlers which would be a nice addition. There is a small sandy area as well for the kids. Weekends in summers usually see a farmers market there.

Another great jersey city park. What you see is what you get. The gazebo in the center really ties the entire park together, and the playground is very friendly for young children of all ages. My niece loves to play here and it is also great if you were somebody that enjoys Pokémon go.

Great place to bring the dog. Very scenic. I enjoy the greenery a lot. Great place to bring a book and just enjoy being outside.

The other day me and my friends went here and were greeted by such nice people. We sat there and the peacefulness was our adventure. It is definitely for children who want to play at the park, I brought my Baby sis that day

Family friendly park with a dog run located in the Van Vorst neighborhood of Jersey City. They have great farmers markets on weekends. In summer and spring there are all sorts of fun activities for kids including plays, open air movie shows. Nice harvest festival before Halloween.

Always clean and well maintained. Beautifully landscaped and a quiet oasis.

Love this park but would be better for the little one if homeless people could be removed. Its a park for little ones. Peeing on slide and sleeping under slide is a disgrace. We did not stay because of it

Park would be excellent if there werent signs everywhere telling you to not play on the grass. Parks should be enjoyed by all without so many regulations. Playground structure is definitely geared to the small children. Watch out for the day care centers that take over the park and push our the residents.

During the Summer its Gorgeous with Different trails of Flowers,Plants,Etc..I was raised on A Brownstone Building across the Street from The Main Jersey City Library my Father owned lots of Properties during the Late 1960s through The Late 1980s..And the Area is Fabulous...

My beautiful neighborhood park. Mark the Park man is a gem and has immersed himself as an unofficial caretaker. Summer Wednesday movie nights. Dog run. Splash fountains for the little ones.

This was a great place to go with our 2 year old! A great little water play area and a respectable playground. Plus, a farmers market on a Saturday and other areas to walk around.
