Mostly good for scenic views and taking a break. Theres a great view of the NYC skyline, so its a good spot to watch 4th of July fireworks. The park is alright but not very big. There arent many features to it, so its mostly just good to walk around for a bit.
Morris park is easy to get to with the Light Rail. And a few steps away from a lot of high rises there is a wonderful park. Minimally landscaped with a great view, room to walk along the old Morris canal.
Its nice and open. Good for kids to run around. I just wish there was more shade.
Love the place to walk around and play light games, with good views of new york skyline.
Beautiful place to take your dog out on a walk or just relax by the beach with the view of historic colgate clock and New York downtown and world trade center. Absolutely love this place to photograph new york skyline.
Beautiful view to the marine, liberty state park, the colgate clock, and Manhattan
Beautiful place with breathtaking views
Im rating for my dog, who loves the place.
Its wonderful to see traces of the historic Morris Canal in Jersey City, such as the Little Basin and Big Basin with Morris Canal Park in between. This canal was a technological marvel with 23 locks and 23 inclined planes, connecting Phillipsburg with Jersey City and a total length of 107 miles. Unfortunately it was shut down in 1924.
Good place for the city view and walks for dogs.
Its a small park with a good view of New York skyline.
Open area, great for dogs
Awesome place to see the City!! And its free!
Love this park for walking pups or running around with my son. Beautiful views and lots of space to sit privately. I love being close to the water and often hike the rocks to the tip of the canal and back with pups. Just keep an eye out for puppy chases off leashes. It IS a dog park as much as locals dont want to admit it. Poop every where if u walk towards the water. Stay by the benches and kids are poop free.
Great views of NYC !
Nice park to have an evening walk.
Can land and launch kayaks if you are careful.
What a great little place in jersey city and a very nice memorial to our soldiers from the korean war. fantastic
We used to live nearby and this was a very nice little park to take our dog. it has beautiful lower manhattan views as well as statue of liberty. sunset set and sunrises from here are pretty gorgeous especially in autumn.
Having stayed in Paulus Hook for the last two years, I discovered this park by chance during one of my evening walks with my partner. Ever since then, weve visited this place for an evening walk pretty often [apart from the freezing winters].To be honest, this is more of a dog park rather than an actual park and youll typically find lots and lots of them in the evenings. None the less, I bet you wont be able to find a park in jersey City that gives you such beautiful views of downtown Manhattan and the Hudson River and lets you get as close to the water. Theres a bench within the park thats hidden from plain sight but an absolute delight if you discover it :). Besides, a walk here is much more pleasant than perhaps the Boardwalk with much better views. Theres also a Korean War Memorial at the foot of the park with a bit of history attached to it.The sole negative that I can call out is the fact that the park isnt as well maintained and can be pretty shabby sometimes.
Great views all around
Go here almost everyday to walk a dog as he lives nearby. Beautiful Park the view of Manhattan right across the river is amazing!! Lots of other people with their dogs, families, couples & people by themselves. Its nice & peaceful . Great place to relax & think.
Its always very relaxing walking along riverside!!! You get a view of lady Liberty, can enjoy walk on green patch. you cant miss Manhattan beauty, especially in evening when building gets painted in the hues of evening sun, all together its a soothing experience...
Its so peaceful here
Beautiful place to walk and have a nice view
Very picturesque location. Only problem is the numerous dogs running around off the leash. One came charging towards my kid yesterday. Owner smiles and says his dog does not bite. Am I supposed to reward you both ?
Love this view.
Great place to walk dogs & spend time with family. The views are fantastic you can look at Manhattan right across the water. You can see Lady Liberty to.your right. They even have farmers market on Saturdays.
Great place to bring your dog. Lots of dogs to play with and no many places for them to disappear.
Our daily outlet to throw small rocks in the river basin.
Nice area to walk your dog and watch the boats go by.
Good place for kids and family
Good dog run and photo location, yes, you read that right.
Best view of lower Manhattan. Great breeze off the water. Lots of dogs running and playing. Favorite spot in Jersey City.
Great place to meet new dogs :)
Way to many off leash dogs. Not blaming the dogs, these humans think that a dog will have perfect recall, so wrong 90% of the time. The city doesnt care, the state doesnt care. If they really wanted this to stop the proper authorities would come in plain clothes and hand out summons but we all know the privileged wont be spanked.
Great place to enjoy your free time!!
Small park. Good for evening walks, especially in good weather. Also really nice views
Free parking!!
Great location with scenic views. Is it so much to ask to keep a park green throughout the year? There is pet goo everywhere here. Its used as a wasteland. A little admin would go a long way here.
Nice
Great views of NYC. Park washing away slowly but surely.
Beautiful views. Good paths to walk.
Nice place for families.
Awesome park for the dogs, lots of friendly dogs.
Great tranquil place
This is a great park with amazing views. It is most popular with dog owners who come there to play with their pets but there are many people who just want to sit on the rocks and enjoy the weather.
Nice park for dog walking
Great Views of the NYC skyline, family friendly and close to the historic Colgate Clock.
It is so nice to walk there and to enjoy the magic view.
Calm and serene a must go place for dog and nature lovers. You can forget everything else and get that calmness filling your mind.
Great local park for walking dogs and hanging out with neighbors... Could use much better maintenance from state and local government
Great little park on a pier with views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. Good place to walk your dog or have a nice picnic. There is a farmers market on Saturdays here
Great place to walk the dogs. As long as your dog can deal with all the other dogs running up to them as everyone here seems to let there dogs off leash
History the views are awesome .
Nice neighborhood park for a run, usually well maintained...nice view to boot
Nice pkace for the children. Clean. Quiet.
Nice view
Beautiful spot but the city should add a water fountain. Come for the view stay for the volleyball (Sundays)
Could be a great park, but it needs some work. Phenomenal location though with great views and rare access to the Hudson River.
Awesome views
Very nice area for walking with dogs and kids, the best part I say is the view, from here you can all of downtown Manhattan and Jersey City, also the Hudson River is right there, close to this park.
A lovely little park, great for dogs to run around, play together and swim
Great park with benches and nice views of Manhattan and the Hudson River.
Its a nice and quiet park at the end of the city. Good views of the skyline and a lot of pets during evenings.
One of the best places to take your dog in Jersey. The views of NYC are great
I come here all the time with my kids. Can get down right on the riverbed to throw rocks or just adventure. Lots of dogs so keep your eyes open for poopie.
Great views of NYC... Always a nice place to walk off dinner at Light horse tavern or Satis
It has a nice view of New York from there, a farmers market coming every Saturday, plus a clearing for families to play in.
Great park for kids. very nice.
Very nice views
Not the prettiest park in the neighborhood (not that we have a lot of that to begin with), but its a dog friendly park, and offers some great photo ops for NYC skyline. Also a perfect spot to catch Liberty State Park July 4th fireworks while avoiding the crowd.
Wonderful place to stay
Not as big as Liberty but still a very nice park to get away from the craziness a blocks north. Would recommend for picnics.
Beautiful view
Nice area
Dogs, babies, volleyball, views. This place is pure happiness!
Good place to walk the dog or stroll with a baby. With the latter, you might have to watch out for broken glass.
Like many of Morans works, there is no horizon to be seen in this image. Most of his works were of towering natural features in the American west, or the iconic architecture in Italy and Mexico, but this view is crowded with the products of crowds.
Great views!
Amazing city views
Great park, with decent views of the statue and lower Manhattan.
There are great views of the Statue of Liberty and well as the downtime area of NYC. The park is also dog friendly.
