This was a great experience. They did a great job to make you feel safe. I was a bit bummed that not everything was opened but that’s ok, there was enough to see anyways. It was great to go and not be over run with people. I could take my time and look at everything and not feel rushed. When you have time you really do notice a lot. My only suggestion would be to maybe sell water, that would have been helpful.

The Theater was lovely. If your into olds movies and want to get out, but worried about socila distancing, rthis may be the theater for you. They could seat over 2000 I believe but were only selling a little over a hundred seats, so plenty of room for social distancing. The film was great, I had not seen it in many years. They played the restored organ while we were waiting for the movie to start and as a intro to the movie. I enjoyed being able to go out with my guy and see a movie, even if it was an old one. It was all the better becouse the way everyone distance sat, you werent worried about being close to anyone. Its definitely a place to check out. Cant wait to see the theater once they restore it. It was pleasantly warm inside also which was a plus too!

Fabulous theatre. Love that it is being restored! The original beauty of this vaudeville and movie house shines through even as restoration is ongoing. Saw Whatever Happened to Baby Jane there. Fantastic, campy movie on the big screen, the way it was meant to be seen. Seats are very comfortable. The Wonder Organ is an amazing experience. Dont wait. Just go at the first chance you have! You wont regret it.

I rarely go out to the movies anymore, but I still show up for the Loews. Since moving to JC, Ive seen a slew of classics from Casablanca and Jurassic Park to Nosferatu with a live organ accompaniment. The volunteer crew that maintains the theater has made slow but steady progress in putting the old movie palace back into fighting shape. I look forward to catching many more shows here.

The organ is amazing and theres so few places you can experience a classic silent movie the way it was meant to be. They also play classic films like Blazing Saddles, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Goodfellas, etc, and its awesome to see them on the big screen. The tickets are a good deal in my opinion, at around $8 for a single & $14 for a double feature. This classic movie palace is in the process of being renovated, led by volunteers. Theres a lot of work left to be done, so youll have to look past a few rough edges. But its beautiful as it is and you should come out to see a show and buy some extra popcorn so they can keep fixing it up.

Me and my family have been coming here for years now to see movies. It’s the best movie theater around. Reasonably priced admission and snacks, great films, dedicated staff, huge screen, great organ and just the most wonderful, historic atmosphere to enjoy a night at the movies. We even volunteer over the summer when we can. Only wish they’d show more movies, but maybe then it wouldn’t seem so special. Make the effort to visit this remarkable venue!

This is an incredible theatre, located right outside the Journal Square PATH station. The architecture is incredible, as are the decorations. The Friends of Loews are a local nonprofit, asking for donations to maintain and update the space, including to reopen the balcony. They host a plethora events in the space. For my visit, Word, an independent bookstore, presented George RR Martin on a talk about his new book. Support bookstores!Snacks are cash only, no beer or liquor.

I got an opportunity to visit the Landmark Loews theater yesterday and was impressed by the scale of its beauty. One of Loews five Wonder Theaters I can only imagine walking in as a child during its heyday and watching a movie. The theater is a time capsule to classic Hollywood. In recent years, the theater has begun to be renovated and restored to its original prestige thanks to the Friends of the Loew. There is still a lot of work to be done, but if you get a chance, stop in and catch a show or you can volunteer to help out! It is a Jersey treasure worth holding onto.

A great, old theater, currently undergoing renovations. I had the pleasure of going to see a live musical performance here and, even from all the way in the back of the orchestra section, under the (sadly off limits) balcony, the sound was *excellent*. Add in amazing 1930s building and interior designs, and some cool old elements of that era (I loved the ancient candy dispenser), and you have a place worth visiting. Especially if your favorite musical act is in town playing in it.

This historic theater is, simply stated, one of the single most gorgeous things Ive ever seen. Visited for the first time this past Sunday for the Christmas singalong & holiday movie screening (as well as a tour). What a spectacular place, beautiful architecture and design! This theatre is rooted in history, its one of the few remaining movie palaces.Through the years, volunteers and supporters have worked tirelessly to restore & preserve this grand edifice. Restoration is still ongoing, but I am hopeful more visitors (and restoration funds!) come in. The current air of decaying grandeur is oddly welcoming, but it would wonderful to see more structural improvements. Concerts & special events occur throughout the year.

A New Jersey treasure. Spectacular 1920s movie theater being slowly restored to its former glory after decades of abandonment and neglect. Open for special events by community-based volunteers who thankfully want to add value to residents, and NOT by a for-profit entity seeking to extract revenue, and who previously ran it into the ground. The City planned to demolish this magnificent landmark but activists have so far managed to hold them off. When the 1000-seat balcony is renovated to meet building code, then presenters will be able to profitably draw audiences.

This has to one of the most beautiful places in the NY/NJ area. The fact that its not over-restored adds to its mystique. Its got just the right amount of faded glamor.I could barely pay attention to the movie, I just kept looking at the ceiling, the pipe organ, etc. Its unbelievable.Yelp review always crack me up. No matter what you look up theres always someone saying the staff was rude. I think some people just have weird expectations as to how people should cater to them. This place is a non-profit. Its run in a very down to earth, simple, friendly manner. By volunteers. You are complaining about people who are volunteering for you. What do you think, they should wipe your butt for you? This place is a dream!

My wife and I visited three years ago and were treated like kings. The building really has to be seen to be believed and its faded glory only adds to its uniqueness. The show was faultless and I had the joy (being a projectionist myself) of viewing the projection box with its functioning Vitaphone projectors and discs. We have little approaching this in either size or magnificence in the U.K. It made our visit to the USA something quite special. Thanks to everyone for your kindness and a great evening.
