Went in and after charging me and on the boat, the guide informs me that I cannot step off the boat, because it was the last charter and they were going to return back immediately! Why would I ride on a boat back and forth that I cannot get off??? When I mentioned it to her, she went saying that she told us. Sure after paying and being on the boat! Not before when I asked!!!!!

What a great way to get to Newport without all the parking/traffic hassles! The ferry also stops at Rose Island (landing fee for lighthouse association) which is interesting. Also, Fort Adams and downtown Newport. If you time it right, you can see all of these stops in depth. Our Captain and first mate were wonderful! Its definitely worth the money. They offer child, teen, and senior discounts.

Wonderful time. Nice way to see a number of sites if just visiting for a few days as we were. The weather was beautiful and the ride on the water was more than worth the price of our tickets. Great staff as well. Two thumbs up.

This ferry is so fun!!! Its got great views as you go across the Bay. Its a small little rum runner style boat with no enclosed areas so be sure to bring a warm sweater even in the summer cause its cold coming across the Bay in the late afternoon!

Fun way to feel like a tourist locally. Ferry over from Jamestown, stroll the brick marketplace, have a bite, ferry back. Fun excursion for small money.

On time. Reasonable ticket prices. Good photo ops on a clear day -- like we experienced.

Captian Brian and his deckhand make it a pleasant ride, even on the ferry route they give some narration, also they have a good website - check it for price deals especially during weekdays

Decent place to go hang out but I wouldnt recommend fishing a swim in there until they clean the water

Its great when they have it at an affordable rate. The prices are spiked for certain times. We went on a Thursday, and it was $16 round trip per person to go to Newport. Service ended at 10:20. It was a great way to travel, much more fun than an Uber. However, on the weekends they often charge $26 a person round trip, so be careful about when you go! Im not sure about if they have later rides going back on the weekend. For comparison reasons, Uber or Lyft is typically about $13 there and $30 back if youre coming back at 1AM when the bars close. Depending on how many people you have with you, getting a ride service is probably cheaper than the ferry. However, the ferry is a much more exciting experience.

This is a very scenic ride, takes about 20 minutes to get from Jamestown to Newport. The parking is free on the Jamestown side. During the summer this is a great way go to Newport for a dinner and whatever after. The ride is mostly calm, but it is a good idea to check the bay weather for high winds if you dont like to much movement on a boat. Very friendly service and coffee and drinks are available on the boat.

You can get on and off the ferry for the day. We took our grandkids (6 and 4) who loved it. We picnicked, swam and looked for sea glass on Rose Island. Next was a look around Fort Adams and then onto downtown Newport for ice cream. We toured the harbor and the adults had a glass of wine on our way back to Jamestown. A very enjoyable day!
