The staff is always super friendly, including the owner. The game room is incredible if youre just going to hang out, or if you want to do a birthday party for your kids. There are plenty of different games to choose from, including pinball. This is definitely the best place in Jacksonville to pickup all of your retro gaming needs, and even games for the current systems. They even give you great trade-in value on your old stuff that you dont use anymore.

This place is absolutely amazing and you can’t beat the prices! They have everything you need from retro to new gen! (beats GameStop pricing any day) My favorite part though - they have a full arcade in the back where you can kick it old school with your friends. Pinball machines for the win!

Came in from out of town and thought I would stop by with my grandfather. Picked up some awesome video games and got some smoking hot black friday deals! The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. The best game store & arcade Jacksonville has to offer. They sell everything from brand new games, all the way back to the original Nintendo cartridges. The coin-op arcade features a wide assortment of genres such as pinball, shooters, fighting games, and more. Outside of video games, theres a robust inventory of accessories, board posters, plushies, etc. If theres any nerdy nostalgia in you, theres something for you at VGR.

Very well organized, legitimate, and civilized store. I traded my PS4 for cash here and they gave a reasonable price with no hassle. I am in the process of moving and might get the PS5 when the time comes in the future. They saved me many trips going back and forth and negotiating with other potential buyers. Great friendly customer service too! Highly recommend.

Well where to start. First I spend thousands of dollars at this place buying games and systems, then I come back to traid in the same used games in the same condition and get 1/10th of what I paid you not even 30 days ago. I am very upset and will never shop here again. Just to clear it up I was offered 50 bucks for my collection. The one game is worth that much. Poor way to do business....

This store really lived up to their name. My grandson broke the joy con on his Nintendo Switch, and was very upset. Video Game Rescue fixed him up with a replacement. Specifically, it was Stephen at the shop. He went above and beyond to help. Great customer service!

Arcade they have on site is one of Jacksonville’s hidden gems.For anyone looking for retro gaming goodness you won’t find a more fully featured gaming shop pretty much anywhere else in Florida. I would give six stars out of five if I could, there just aren’t enough good things to say about the work these fine folks at Video Game Rescue are doing!

This is an amazing place! I am 32 and thought all the old games I grew up on and have not seen since childhood, these guys have! I felt like the happiest old kid when I walked in and it was a arcade (old school style) and had every gaming system i grew up on and missed without costing an arm and a leg. Great prices, great staff, great selections. Dustin, thank you for bringing back so many amazing memories.

The store and all is very nice and everything is awesome especially the arcade, but it doesnt seem like anybody does maintenance on anything there or labels which machines steal quarters. Some machines 2 player option is broken, some just straight up eat the quarters

Good selection, not the greatest service. No one is rude... They are often busy and some times dont seem thrilled that you showed up to spend money. Agian, not bad service, but dont expect a chic file a type customer experience.

Super great staff. They have all the stuff you need to restore or get back into your retro gaming setup. Decent prices too, really competitive.Edit: I noticed one of my SNES games wouldnt save. I opened it up and found the replacement battery wasnt soldered correctly. Another game had a solder blob dripped on the board. The game repair is a little sloppy but I only have 3 games from them so I cant say their whole stock is like this.Other than that, the games are fine.

The store is a temple for video games, while on a quick trip I found this hidden gem. Great service and great stock. The staff is very friendly and knows what youre talking about even at the most obscure of requests. The arcade was small but not crowded and they where 50 cents a play which was a great throwback to the arcade days. I dont have anything bad to say about VGR except that I wish I had more time to spend in the store!

My husband heard about this place and was told it was a great place to find original Game Cube controllers. We arrived hoping to find one, but we were told that they seldom had controllers in stock because they have a group of Smash players who gobble them up on Thursday nights. A little disappointed about the selection and quantity of preowned items in the store... there’s just not a whole lot on there, but still some pretty cool stuff in there as well as an arcade. For anyone who might need a controller, we ended up finding our way over to Games Galore who had a HUGE selection of pre-owned items and plenty of original game cube controllers which they place a limit on, which is nice because there’s plenty for every one.

Loved this place the staff were super friendly and very helpful great conversation, and even better selection of retro games. Also they have a REAL arcade attached to the store Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the arcade game enough said. I highly recommend.

I do not comprehend why people love this place. Me and my wife was lied to last year on the phone regarding trade in values of some games. When she got there after driving almost half an hour they valued it less then game stop and way less then what they said on the phone. My wife also Contacted them to see if the had PAW PATROL for the ps4 for my son and they rudely replied back like we was playing well screw you then..

7/24/2017Ive followed vgr on Facebook for quite some time now because i heard theyve got a lot of the arcade games my mom likes and my dads always been into retro games as well, I also heard they have amazing prices and a lot of cool collectible stuff, all these things are true of course (I still wish they had some league of legends stuff but maybe theyll get some in the future)I had been bugging my mom to go for months since she loves pac-man and we pass the store a lot since my fiancee lives down the street from the store.So today we finally went because I wanted to see if they had some 3ds games and another game cube controller. I ended up getting the controller and a game cube game, both for really great prices. My mom was also really happy to see the arcade games and if it wasnt for the fact that it was about to rain really bad we would have stayed to play them.1/26/20Three years later and i still love VGR.They added gift cards sometime lst year and i actually won 3 five dollar ones in a cosplay contest. I took them up there recently and used it towards an amibo and the happy home animal crossing game. They were having a sale on hand held games that day as well which was great.I love that they are always adding new arcade games. They just got in a skee ball machine and they are always switching out new games so youll never get bored.They also do game tournements, board games and pokemon go raids weekly if thats something youre into. This is a great place to buy games, play games and make new friends.

This is a cool little store that has a nice selection of classic games and consoles for sale as well as new Systems and accessories. They have a collection of arcade games and pinball machines that are pretty impressive. These include a South Park, ghost busters and doctor who pinball as well as street fighter 2 and mortal combat 2 arcade to name a few. They have drinks and snacks and provide an area to play board games on certain nights. They also sell popular card games such as pokemon and other board games. The South Park game was awesome but the Ghost Busters is a ball stealer!

Took my son for the first time ever and were impressed with the look and feel of the store(think vintage and Trendy). The staff was helpful and pleasant, not to mention that they are giving away free video games today. We will definitely be going back.

Amazing! Ive been wanting to visit for a long time now and I thought the anniversary celebration about a month ago would have been the perfect excuse to come. Sadly I injured my back badly and wasnt able to attend. Thankfully I ran into them at the GAAM nerd market and talked to them about it. They immediately empathized and gave us some store credits and a couple of coupons! They didnt have, I would visit once I had the chance but this is the kind of attitude that builds great experiences.When I finally went I was pleasantly surprised! Their selection was much bigger than I expected and just as at GAAM, they were super helpful and I even found a game Ive been searching for years! E.V.O. Search for Eden is finally in my collection thanks to VGR. Ill definitely will be shopping here more often and you should too!

Video Game rescue has always, and will always be my favorite Video Game store in all of North Florida! The owner Dustin is extremly nice and is very knowledgeable with old games, and systems. He also greatly cares about the community. I am at his store once or twice a week to see my friends and play with the amazing board game collection they have on their weekly Wednesday board game night. He has recently started hosting a cosplayer workshop once monthly to help out the local cosplayers and I am excited to see this and other events grow! I love VGR!
