It was so nice going to Nichols Park! Lots of memories as a youth! I always like to navigate to the water! Monday i will be back in Florida and Im looking forward to seeing the Gulf, my great Grandsons and the rest of my family and friends there! I took some pictures of the park to share! Two great playgrounds for small kids. Went to a wonderful fireworks show July 4th evening. If your get the chance catch it next year, its very good!

It was clean for an outdoor place. It was comfortable. It was a great place for Ladies Lunch Group. Going again next week.

Was so glad to see the ufo the giraffe engine truck was still there all though I Miss seein the giant snail, the Caterpillar tunnel, monkey bars and parallel bars from when I was a kid playing at Nichols park lol but very clean I like the improvements that has been done told my little one about the snail etc and was sad that she couldnt see them she also asked why they didnt have a section for like the floor is lava obstacle course so she could play on it bit over all she had fun

Nice little park to drive around, or stop and simply enjoy the view. Several different places to park/stop/take pics... of the turtles!

I love this park! It is an absolutely beautiful place. There are walking/jogging trails that take you around two different lakes, through trees, through beautiful lawns, to military memorials, and to pavilions.The swimming pool is amazing. You will see people fishing (I know nothing about licenses) and playing golf (I dont know anything about that, either). If you get the chance, this is a park that is definitely worth your visit.

Nice scenery, cute lakes and wildlife variety is nice, but the facilities could really use some work. The restrooms on the east side are not clean or fully functional. The shelter we rented was dirty and electricity did not work. Also there are a multitude of holes in the yard...watch your footing!

Beautiful place with many varieties of birds and a great place for a walk. A new bridge and wildflower garden provide a tranquil spot to see birds and butterflies. There is a swimming pool open in summer, a golf course, and tons of spots to have a picnic either outside or in an enclosed building. You can fish and kids can play on park toys. The fireworks show for July 4th always draws a large crowd. The park is open all year round.

Fun park fishing and walking

Park seemed the same as its been for all my 30+ years of visiting it.There was one or two new toys in the play area. I seen one missing that I remembered was there in the 80s & 90s - it was pretty dangerous so it doesnt surprise me. I miss seeing all the birds that used to roam there, especially the peacocks.Great place to take kids to let off some pent up energy - or an excited dog! Very pretty scenery and well kept grounds. Plenty of places to have a nice picnic!

Very family friendly. Easly accessed. The flower path is lovely. Great playground for kids. Love fishing and taking photos here. Also a beutiful venue for many types of celibrations both private and public

This is a clean and super nice place for families, etc. It was complete with electricity and water.

The golf course at the park is ludicrous cheap. You can play all day with no cart for less than 10 bucks. The course is not maintained very well, but its playable, rarely busy, and always a lot of fun.

Used one of the enclosed buildings for family get together. Went well for most part. Could have used more outlets.

Im not afraid of Nichols Park. I ride the train, and I ride it after dark. A nice detour if you are on the Come on feel the Illinoise tour.

Its a great park and happens to have my name, Nichols.

Ive lived in Jacksonville all my life and Nichols Park was the place to go fishing, ride bikes, have family reunions, and swim at their pool! The public bathrooms desperately need updating as well as some of the other buildings. But still a free place for families to take their kids to play in the playground.
