I love love love rollerskating. There was handsanitizer and a disclaimer at the door. I cant speak for legalities and I sympathize with family owned business at this time. But almost no one was wearing a mask with at least 50 people or more in an enclosed space. How is this protecting the community? Even if areas are sanitized with spray its an athletic space with droplets being exhaled similar to gyms maybe worse because people arent stationary and wiping down individual gym equipment but constantly going in a circle. Masks obviously not enforced.Addendum to response: I am truly sorry that as a business this is something you have to endure. It really is a good skating rink I would think under normal circumstances.Would love to be there again after covid. I would like it known im not trying to be snarky. Other reviewers just have the right to know what they are walking into. Wish you the best and see you soon.

Loved it my girls had a blast, great place to throw a birthday party

My spouse and I went to Roller City for date night last night. It seemed like a fun skating rink and probably would’ve been if the kid behind the skate counter wasn’t rude for no reason. We went back to pay an extra dollar for blades and when given the blades he stared at us then asked me if I had a problem when we were only waiting for him to take the money so that we could go back to skating. We ended up leaving not even an hour in because of him and he told me I seemed annoyed when we were leaving knowing well the reason. Maybe he was having an off day, who knows. We will come back again but not until after we’ve purchased our own skates to avoid this happening again. Otherwise it would have been a great experience.

We had super fun with the skate Team out of Wilmington!! They were big fun and helpful. We definitely plan on coming back. Thank you Roller City for Adult Night ...heeeyyyyy

Did my daughters 16 th b day here. super fun place for all age groups will come again I also have a special needs son they didnt treat him any different then they do anybody else. not over polite/ rude just as normal customer like everybody else. he couldnt skate but he loved the lights and music.

The young man at the skate counter was excellent! When a man came to complain he handled it professionally even though the man was in the wrong. I’m glad this place hires reliable and responsible kids! Keep up the good work!

Had a fantastic time at Roller City! The staff and owner are fantastic at what they do, and the building is beautifully taken care of! Thank you for everything you do for the community! We had fun, but Roller City was so packed, that if anyone there had Covid, then we all do, now. It was a Friday night and they just packed the place, and no one had face coverings. The next day, I visited my 79 year old mother for her birthday, and I feel very guilty that I may have infected her. They did not follow any of the required phase 3 guidelines posted on the NCDHHS website. So be careful.

Taylor is legit the best staff at the place and is soo nice to me and my friends. So funny and helpful.

I am very disappointed with the management at this location. I have been going to this location for over 24 years and have never had a problem until today. What is the difference you ask? I went with my children. we were there for maybe 40 minutes. Loud music, lots of people, a lot going on so my son started to have some anxiety, so of course I pick him up to comfort him. I roll along the wall to try and show him that its ok and supposed to be fun. One of the staff members walks up while Im trying to cheer my son up and says You cant hold him with skates, give him to me Now I dont know about you other parents but if my child is already on the verge of an anxiety attack, Im for sure not going to hand him to a stranger, so I said Ill walk over and give him to my sister-in-law which I did, I took a few steps and handed him to my sister-in-law when I hear this woman yelling at me like im a dog. (now mind you, there is not a single sign in this place that says not to hold your kids while your wearing skates) I tried to explain to her that I wasnt trying to be disrespectful, i was trying to comfort my son. She wasnt having it, she continued to yell and talk over me until I finally gave up trying to explain myself. The lady was very rude, condescending, and totally unprofessional. Oh and did I mention i was there with a birthday party that was about half of the patrons present at the location. It is very disappointing, I show the utmost respect to every person I meet, I work 70 hours a week and am a single parent, I get to go out with my children and do something like this once, maybe twice a year, the way the management handled it was totally unprofessional and incompationate, to the point that I felt attacked over the whole situation, I didnt feel like I was a person to her at all throughout the whole event, like i said before she talked to me like a dog and treated me as such and for a Family friendly establishment they are very incompationate and clearly do not understand what it is like to have children. So, in short dont take your family here, you are just a dollar sign to them and will not respect you as a person at all, I feel attacked and degraded and as a patron for over 24 years, I am very appalled at the way the management chose to handle this situation.I did not ignore anyone, incase you werent aware it is loud iin there, and i was worried about keeping my child calm, and the big sign of rules by youre entrance states nothing of the such, and when I was approached I understood why she didnt want me holding him, but she didnt understand I was trying to tend to my child, and if that was the owner that is even sadder because not a single professional action came from her. Allow me to refresh your memory, It was nowhere near 50 steps and when I was close to the wall rather than taking another step, and having my foot hit the wall, i opted to roll.And of course they apologized, they had no idea how your staff approached me about it and handled it, and only caught the end of it.

I love everything about this place! They work hard to take care of their customers and are always doing some type of improvement to be better than ever. I highly recommend them for a fun night out with your family or friends... or even a place to throw a fun skating party.

I love this place becuse its nice and clean and they have nice food and they have things to help you rollerskate I you need help theres extra workers to make sure you are ok and theres a little shop to buy lights and toys I love this play its really a good place to go and it also have a gaming section it also has a part section if you want to have a party there or a celebration. Its really recommended. There are sorts of event and little game while roller skating like 4corners and ghost busters were you turn directions every time it says ghost busters. This place also has music playing while riding around the place theres a little sit out place and the lights go cool like a dance floor time to time its realy fun theres also a bathroom and a water fountain

Our family had a great time! The building is clean and the concessions were surprisingly affordable and tasty.

I’ve been coming here off and on for the past 10 years. I always have a amazing time here. Though there was a kid working the snack bar the last Saturday I went who prioritized his friends over any other customer that was in line before them. Tried to get his attention to ask for water multiple times and ended up walking away after about 5-7 minutes. Besides that, the atmosphere is great and I’ve always loved being at Roller City!

This skating rink is such an amazing place to go and hangout and have a good time. I love going with my friends to this place and the staff are just so incredible too. Due to the COVID - 19 theyve temporarily closed down because of too many people in one area, and Im stuck on base without any way to get out. Ive ordered a pair of skates and gave them a call about them and they got right back to me within 24 hours and now theyre shipping them to me for free :) the environment of this place is more than just a skating rink ... its more of a family and I love that about it. I miss it so much and Im definitely going there asap when the shutdowns cease :)

Its a great thing to do

Multiple reasons. Hostess never attended the room, management staff was disrespectful rather then being helpful, and the game room has games that don’t have token information posted. So little kids were finding out that some of the machines required 4 tokens after depositing 1 token. If you want to discuss our experience, would gladly take time to do so.

One of the workers were being really rude and rushing me to get out because I was trying to do my tickets and give them to him while I was choosing what I wanted but he gave me an attitude and told me to pick something Bigger with a big attitude and all I wanted was a little tiny cute fake tattoos

This place is SO much nicer, cleaner & updated than the New Bern skating rink. This will be our new go to skating place, even though it is an hour away...it is well worth the drive!

Our daughter loves going here, and I always feel she is safe! The staff is amazing, couldnt ask for more caring people! Enjoy taking our youngest (4) as well from time to time!

My family and friends just waited for a while when we arrived, until they gave us 3 tables for my kids birthday party. They said they don’t know that we were coming, we called there in advance and also when we were on our way and they said was a miscommunication....very unsat.

Place is way to small. I know it had to be over the fire limit. Customer service were rude. Prices are decent most of the arcade was out of order. Ok food. Kids wanted the scating things for people who are learning to skate. Was told they didnt have anymore to watch a couple come behind us and get what we had just asked for. Wont return... its correctedThere reply is exactly how they run there buisness.

This place is absolutely awesome!! I could stay from open to close for sure! Brings back the inner kid in adults and gives the young ones a super fun time great for family fun Sundays!!! We attended the home school/ toddler skate today and it was wonderful. My son is three and this was his first time. Roller City offered him adjustable skates that fit him great as well as a wheeled push cart (not sure if that is the correct word) to help with his balance. The staff was very nice and helpful. We will definitely be going again.

Its a good venue, but a bit small. The kids and adults had fun though. Not just standard skate, theyve incorporated several games and races to the experience. And the snack bar could stand to be a little faster.

If there was a way I could give this place a negative amount of stars I would. My husband and I went with some friends and their daughter. The kid at the door was super nice but after we walked inside we had children running into us not looking where they were going and rude staff. We were there for maybe 15 minutes and then left. Within that time we had been asked twice to keep moving when we were standing still for two seconds. They barely had any sizes for shoes. The rink was very small for the amount of people on it. All of the staff were children telling you what toDo about every couple of seconds. Unless you are between the ages of 8-16 and an experienced skater I wouldn’t recommend going to roller city. I’d recommend driving another couple hours to new bern, Wilmington, or Raleigh to get your moneys worth and have a good time.

Since the opening under this name this place has gotten so much better! I actually enjoy bringing my daughter skating again. The rules they have are for our safety and they actually inforce them and handle it if someone is not following them! Thank you for making it enjoyable to skate in town again I hated always having to leave town to skate!

Awesome place for local kids to have some fun skating and hanging out with other friends. Manager and entire staff are very friendly and promote a positive and safe environment for all ages to enjoy. The Pizza at this location is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable and affordable. It’s great to have a location that the entire family can enjoy on a Friday or Saturday night to relieve some stress from the workweek. Kuddos to the Manager for encouraging my Son who overcomes obstacles of stress that comes with Autism. He loves this place and the positive patrons who also promote teamwork and camaraderie as they swing around corners avoiding beginning skaters! You will see us a lot!

Im there every weekend and its super fun to hang with friends. the games are super creative and enjoyable, the staff are all super nice and friendly.

I realized that ten years is a long time to say I still know how to roller skate... It was a nice place!! The only discrepancies I had were of the customer service of the young lady and gentleman who change out shoes for skates. They have no customer service.

For me as a young man to come to Roller city, i love the staff & I dont have any problems with the staff whatsoever & I think I that people that complain about the policy thats being enforced, shouldnt write a bad review just because their needs arent being fulfilled. Ive been going ever since Wheels was a thing there but now, I like it wayyy better than it really was. Im a loyal skater as well as one of your employees work there & weve been having a blast for the longest. Never had problems with the rules whatsoever. Great place ! And food is great ! Took my 6 and 8 year old neice, several weeks ago, skating for there first time. They had such a blast we have been back every weekend. The only problem is getting them to leave.

I also think the experience would be more enjoyable if the lights were dimmed more often. All in all its a great time. (Please diversify the music. You know who I am.)( UPDATE ) --- One of my wheels broke while I was skating, and I had to buy knew wheels. J-Boogie was very helpful in recommending what wheels I should buy, and he even installed them for me; which I am very grateful for. He also recommended me some jam plugs, instead of stoppers, since he noticed I have been attempting some fancier moves. I was back on the floor in about 20 min, and the wheels were great. So thanks to J-Boggie, The Owner, and that kid behind the counter for the exhalent service.

I must say the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, the staff is great, and that pizza they got going on over there at that pickle pizza my Lord there’s not much you can say about that but yummy !!!!

I did not know that I needed a rule book just to skate. From the time I put my skates on until the time that I left I constantly had someone telling me I cant do this I cant do that. I was targeted twice about being on my phone while others pass by me on their phone as well not even watching where they were going. And dont go there being an unexperienced skater or stand in place for more than 2 seconds are youll be asked to move more than once by children working there. Then you cant have gum and I have never heard of a skating rink not allowing you to have gum EVER and Ive been to many skating rinks. If you are an adult this is not the place to go to enjoy yourself you will be treated like a child by children and one adult with a light up hat. I understand rules but this place takes it way too far and I am a good person and did nothing wrong but felt like I was a criminal at a skating rink.

Nice, fun and very family friendly. I went a friday night and had lots of fun, there are alot of smaller kids on fridays. Has a snack bar did not go but looked fairly nice. Also there is a game room where you can earn tickets and change them in for a small prize. Over all very nice place and staff is very nice awalys making sure you are ok if you fall.

I honestly dont have a rating for this establishment at this time.....This was the worst experience of any skating rink me and my girls have ever been in and I have been in more than a few.... First of all that rule list was a bit much! Esp after the experience I had. The lightening in the parking lot was horrible. Before we could even get in the door I was rudely told by a child to spit my gum out as if I was his age. The prices were ridiculously expensive considering the accommodations were very poor. It was overly packed you could barely turn around in there more less skate on that small skating floor. The young man at the skate counter was overwhelmed and could not help me when I proceeded to ask him about purchasing skate wheels, so I had to wait in long line and still didnt receive any help so I walked away....My girls and I were in there less than 30 mins before we left because it was just too much! This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had.....I paid $18.00 to only leave and go home.There is no way I would want to ever return here. I felt the need to share because I am very disappointed because I dont have money to flush down the drain and of course this is exactly what happened 02 Feb 2019 and of course sign said No REFUNDS. I just feel like customer satisfaction is very important but I left this establishment tonight feeling like this was definately not first priority. The service and accommodations could be much better!

Real expensive and super crowded staff is super rude and wanna treat us like cheap wads but they say 9.50 a person and plus rental fee anyways price isnt that bad its if u write a review or anything remotly not good they get really offended and act like children and the children there are not paying attention neither does the staff .. Also its small and way over crowded needs to be a limit on that and RULES the kids knocking everyone down needs
