Visitor Center closed. Jackson was quite a big disappointment for me. It was somewhere that i was very much looking forward to on our road trip. The traffic they divert through town is unreal. There was about an hour long wait to go 1/2 mile through town. Coming from North and South Dakota on our trip, it was glaring at how unfriendly and really rude so many locals and people were here in town. I wanted a Jackson shirt until I got there. Now I will avoid in the future.

We had a lovely visit. The outdoor deck gives a great view of the National Elk Refuge which in the summer is green and lush. The mounted animal display inside was well done and has wheel chair accessibility. There was a short film showing concerning the animals in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. The items for sale were reasonably priced from low to medium price. Lots of information available.

The visitors center. WOW! Bill and Lauren were SO knowledgeable and helpful! Felt antlers in velvet, put goat horns on head for photo ops, learned SO much about antlers and horns. It was gorgeous there! The paintings inside, are... Oh my gosh, GORGEOUS! Gregory Something. A squish the penny machine, (my first), it was just awesome!

This visit center is well worth your time for a short stop, either before your visit to Jackson Hole or after. We found the display in the center on Elks very educational. Don’t miss the deck upstairs, which overlooks the National Elk Preserve nearby. We stopped by here once this summer, and the other time 10 years ago, and enjoyed it.

Though the material is vast for people to study it at their own pace and carry it with them, the staff was not all that well trained to guide visitors on both national parks: Teton and Yellowstone. They werent really sure of the opening of trails, hot springs, etc beyond south Yellowstone gates. I was advised to reach old faithful and find from locals there what the river currents would be like to take a dip in the hot springs. Strange!! The display is fabulous, though

If you thought Wyoming is a boring Wild west, well you are wrong. Cause Jackson Hole stands otherwise! The crazy skiing/surfboarding experience and one of the finest dine-in/Luncheon experiences at their associated lounge, ALL INCLUSIVE! Plus, the place is a beating town with crowd flocking in from everywhere, bringing an amazing vibe to the place. And when you are done With snowsports, JH has so many party or just a relaxing evening options to offer you.

My husband and I have never had so many OMG moments in one week. Wyoming is truly blessed with the most incredible scenery. Jackson was a great home base...lots of dining, shopping and recreational options. Plan to spend at least a full day exploring Yellowstones many treasures. Really well designed visitor center, built as part of an elk refuge, with beautiful taxidermy displays. Staff here are wonderfully helpful, and gave great advice on how to spend my limited time in the Jackson/Tetons/Yellowstone area. The gift shop here is also quite sizable, and it was the only gift shop I was able to find my National Parks travel stamp in.Jackson Hole is a great location to visit during the winter for snow sport enthusiasts, and it is around this time of year that the Elk return to the refuge. The visitor center offers a great viewing platform to see over 1000 of them when they return to weather the cold. They also have a close relationship with the Teton Raptor Center, I visited on a Saturday, where between 3pm and 5pm three beautiful owls where visiting, along with their friendly handlers, to teach people about these birds. I believe this is regular, but phone ahead if its something you want to see, just to be sure.

Very informative. Staff is friendly and helpful. One of the most beautiful and unique natural wonders of North America. A bucket list item for anyone with an interest in the outdoors. The traffic can be bad during peak season but once you get beyond the tourist areas at Old Faithful or Canyon it gets better. Lamar valley is a perfect place to pull off and enjoy a hike and wildlife viewing.

We came here to buy tickets for the elk sleigh ride. Cool souvenirs, art, and fun facts about thebabimals in the area you can read up on while you wait. They also have an outside viewing area to check out. They were super busy and there was only one register open to buy merchandise which myself and a few others thought was strange because they had plenty of staff to open another register. I stood in line for an easy 20 mins+ just to buy a couple stickers lolOther than that. Cool place.

My family was visiting Jackson in early October and our vehicle had mechanical issues. While our truck was being fixed we decided to go for a bike ride with our two young sons. Unfortunately, the weather turned and we took refuge at the Visitors center to warm up, look around and make a plan for where we should go. While standing in the lobby my 1.5 yr old son was making some noise on the wheel chair ramp and one of the older men working in the gift shop proceeded to yell at us and demand that our child be quiet. It was incredibly rude and uncalled for. Instead of being professional and having a conversation to understand our situation he was brass and aggressive. I do not recommend this location for your family especially if you are visiting with children.
