Peaceful & shaded! Love the walk & seeing the owls etc. Wish more of the trails were open, but what is there is nice.
The park trails remain unfixed and some are cutoff since they were supposed to have made changes several years ago and now there seem to be more empty cages these days. Finishing the trails would be good enough to take this to 5 stars though as not being able to explore the entire park ruined some of the experience
Wonderful walking through the woods. If I had the money Id give the money to fix a side boardwalk thats closed. Maybe a fund raiser with wood engraved boards for a certain amount of money?
Beautiful park one trail is out of order for now but its a beautiful place
Ill always love this place. Was married here 2 years ago. But recently it was quite unkept. Some paths are closed. But still a good walking destination.
Fun place to get some steps in. Beautiful scenery right in the heart of a city.
This is a nice little park with a short but pretty boardwalk that ends by a lake that has an observation deck that you can walk up a few flights of stairs. This place would be very pretty in spring or fall with the colors, it is a shame about the random trash everywhere. People are awful so not surprised in the least
Great place to get away from it all..take a little walk with your special someone.
Great place to visit. Loved seeing owls and hawks along the trail.
A very nice park to see nature and beautiful old trees. A nice lake with turtles that will greet you by poking up from the water, kids loved them. Reserve a couple of hours to walk the whole trail. The OWLS and EAGLES are really nice to see (they are in caged homes, and are rescues.) The entire trail takes you through beautiful scenery along a raised deck walkway with rails! Cons? Yes, there was occasional litter scene which is fault of us humans (this entire area is on a flood plain of the Forked Deer river and flooding at times washes in human rubbish.) That is unfortunate, but still a wonderful rare place (mostly) not messed up by industry of us humans! We had already carried our kids to the big city zoo nearby, the Safari as well, and yet this park trail still survived as a rival in some ways and it is free!
Its all about family fun.. very nice board walk
Small but beautiful Forest Preserve!
I was not able to go on the walks. We have two boxes, with the temperature in the mid 80s we were unable to safely leave them in the car. We have heard this place is real pretty.️
We didnt get to stay here long because there were mosquitoes and my kids are allergic. But there was a nice walkway down to see some different birds. We were unaware there were any birds so it was an unexpected surprise for us. It was gorgeous going in june.im not sure how long it qould take to see everything. One path was closed.
Been going here my whole life. Always loved it. Peaceful.
Was ok wont go there again though. I cant have my dog with so . its kinda a waste of my time going .
This was fun but bathrooms were closed and not cool if you have little children
Very well preserved and taken care of. Nice quiet walk for a beautiful conversation. Enjoyed the wildlife as well. Definitely should be a place to add to your bucket list.
My favorite place to walk and enjoy nature and also a piece of history for my family because my father and uncles helped build it .
Really nice nature area. Cool boardwalks through the park. Bird rehab too!
Absolutely beautiful! Great place to go for a peaceful nature walk. My fiance even proposed there
Awesome stop between nashville and memphis
Love nature.
What a place to find in town. The boardwalk is a feat in itself. Winding and long with birds of prey exhibits along it.
I keep going back cause its awesome
Its my favorite park of any I been too so relaxing I love the animals I see and hear If you have bad nerves it will help you
I have so many fond nostalgic memories of this place so I might be a little biased. I love this place and my only complaint is the bits of trash lying around, otherwise, its a wonderful place to walk while listening to music or chatting with companions
One of the best places to take a long walk in Jackson. Its shady and cool in the summer and has lots to interest you during your walk including walking over a lake, climbing a tower, and plaques pointing out tree species.A portion is made into a kind of zoo for birds of prey like hawks and owls, so that will get the kids excited. It also has benches for resting spaced throughout, a few shelters for if it rains, bathrooms and drinking fountains at the front, and a couple of places for picnics.
Nice place to lose a few calories and just to go do something outside the house
It was fun to walk with my grandson and look at the owls
Good place spend time with love ones GREAT place to clear your mind nice peaceful place
There bathrooms are close and when you have children that is ridiculous it wont take 5 min to clean one I dont understand why there closed
Need a quick nature walk? Heres a handy place.
We come here every couple of months to visit the birds and get a little exercise in the fresh air. Love how each season has it looking like a whole different place.
Good place to just walk through and relax especially with the young ones. The raptor exhibit is cool to see as well.
It is a nice enough park but unfortunately there is a fair amount of litter around the park which takes away from the overall experience. Also some of the bridges need replaced in spots but I would still suggest checking this park out. The lake and pond are the nicest parts to me.
Have always loved this park. But the board walk is showing wear.
Its a great nature walk
Dont go on a hot day, also going over the lake crooked support piers can worry people. We did it 1 mile bring lots of water. Safety is a concern. Went during morning hours should have a guide really would feel better.
Went to park for the first time with my daughter and boyfriend Thursday May 16th. We had exactly 30 minutes to walk on the trail before they closed at 7. A man on a bike who was closing the park stopped us and told us we had to leave now because they closed at 7. We asked why we had to leave now if they close at 7. And what part of the park could we be in till 7 if not the trail. He replied that we had to leave now and couldnt be in the park at all. Then turned his bike sideways to block the trail and told us we had to leave the park. I asked him again what time they closed and he again said 7. After we turned to leave another man who was associated with the park told us that we didnt have to leave and we had 30 minutes to walk on the trails. He was very nice and confirmed that the other guy was being extremely rude.
If your ever coming through Jackson,TN and have an hour or so to burn, or just enjoy a safe nature walk, this is the place to go. Boarded walkways with a beautiful Aviary and decent pong fishing spot brimming with catfish. Comfortable seating and a few covered areas to enjoy. I go here quite often whenever I need to get some fresh air and some peace. Great Spot!
So I arrived at the park right before it opened and I wasnt there 5 minutes before a gentleman in a Honda was looking at my car because we parked in the handicap (we have a placard). I thought it strange but said nothing, he got in his car and sat there watching my every move. I popped the trunk to get my tackle and fishing pole he hopped out of his car and said doing some fishing? I said sure am! Now keep in mind I have NO idea who he is.. I need to see your fishing license he didnt say who he was so I asked do you work here? No ID no proof he worked there..The guy was rude! My family and I have been coming here for years and Im not so sure well be back..
Even on a wet/rainy day, we were able to walk through the woods on the paths they built a few feet above the swampy water level!
Nice nature trail; if you like nature.
The animals being treated here are beautiful. However, the facilities are old and rundown and definitely need some TLC. There is an outlandish red wasp population swarming the front entrance. The boardwalk through the park is a very pretty walk through the wetlands and gives you a good view of all the animals and scenery. Overall, if someone gave the place a small facelift, it would be a great recommendation for a peaceful walk through nature.
I loved it,, its very quite and peaceful,,a nice get away,, The walk ways are awesome10 stars
Great place to take kids for nature hike. Saw a nice sized snake and number of birds
Great place to visit, I loved the Great horned Owls and red tail hawks...
This is naturally a beautiful place and peaceful environment. Over the past year the place has broken down a lot. Ive had problems with the guy on the bike before with being extremely rude and telling me and my family to leave an hour before close. He rode behind us on the bike the entire way back. He took pictures of us as we walked and when we got in the car he followed us in HIS CAR to the end and closed the gates while taking MORE pictures. Trash is everywhere here its really quite sad it should be shut down if proper care of the pace can not be given. It was beautiful years ago, but nothing is kept up with just more areas closed.
Beautiful, great experience
I love cypress park if you have a piggy back ride
Unfortunately, there has been a drought and much of tbe grove was dried up.No wildlife other than the caged Raptors. But still, worth the trip for a nice walk.
Nice boardwalk
Great place that is easy to access!
Quite clean breath taking beautiful
Great place to spend an hour. Youll see birds of prey, turtles and enjoy walking the trails through the cypress grove to the lake
It needs some TLC. But a great place to escape.
Always love going there but they do need to do repairs.
Love this park, would give 5 stars but the walk is in need of some serious repairs in places. You can tell they are getting to it though. You can reach all areas of the park, just some sketchy boards here & there. Great place to walk thru the woods & trees & watch the wildlife. Great place to walk in peace & i have always enjoyed taking the kids. Wish animal owners would clean up after their pets but some folks are just nasty. I remember field trips there as a child, its lost alittle over the years due to budget cuts unfortunately. Its still a great park & is took care of as best as possible with the little im sure they get in funding.
Its a beautiful park. The trails are fantastic!
Great date and git my prom date
Beautiful park! The raptors are incredible, and the swamp is amazing! Take a walk along a level, wide boardwalk to the lake. Great family outing!
Its a great place to visit! You can enjoy a long walk on a nice walk way threw the entire place. There are lots of things to see buildings set up trew the place with wild life there are pictures of wild life and live wild live too. Great place to take the kids or just get away and enjoy your day!! Parking is free and is never crowded
Great place. Beautiful. Peaceful. Family fun
Loved it, bummer because the eagle wasnt there
I love exploring Cypress Grove Nature Park, I just wish it was a bit larger
Really enjoyed our visit. One trail was down for repair but was still able to get where it lead by taking a different one
Absolutely beautiful. My new favorite sanctuary and I cant believe its in Jackson. So quiet and the raptors they have are so intriguing. Theres a natures study building here partnered with Union University so the birds are well taken care of.
Its a great place. Just a lot of renovations taking place right now, which is good.
Such a beautiful place to walk and take photos.
Very beautiful place...must see
Greatly disappointed at how much this place has deteriorated. It had been several years since our last visit, when we were there before they had birds and was a very nice place, we enjoyed our visit then. I cant even imagine how Jackson, or Madison County could let this happen. Very disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone.
Great nature
Interesting park. Cool nature trail walk through. My kids enjoyed it and it was pretty peaceful and quiet. Didnt see many other people.
Next time i go I will bring a trash bag to pick up after the thoughtless ones. Beautiful park.
This is a beautiful placeBeautiful scenery if u can overlook all the trash. I could not believe the amount of trash and the oilOh my God the oil, it was everywhere. These poor creatures living in this forest cant have access to oil free water. There must have been some kind of oil spill somewhere nearby to do this kind of damage. This place could be so much better with a lot of TLc!! Best of luck!!
Aside from avoiding the many spider webs this is a great nature park.
Beautiful park, scenery, trails, my two yr old loved it. He loved seeing the birds. Im just wondering if you can fishing there?!
It was beautiful, however it seems as if there is no money put into it to keep it safe and clear of debris
Tranquil been coming here since I was a child..
I have always enjoyed Cypress Grove. The entire place is a boardwalk. If youre able and willing to walk, the lake is a sight to see. There is also labeled plantlife along with birds including hawks and a bald eagle. I do suggest bringing bug spray since you will be in a grove.
Great little park. Cool boardwalk trail.
Great visit, a nice nature walk.
Amazing place for the family. I will definitely be there again
Peaceful place to get a good walk in. Wish they could fix the deerkill lake trail.
Serenity and beautiful.. still under mild construction
Currently undergoing construction so walking trails are cut down to only the main walk to the stairs. But as always, peaceful.
Awesome place and a Pokemon GO EX Gym.
Very nice calm walk
Nice nature walk
I love the boardwalk that goes all through the Cypress grove. There are also birds that have been hurt that are being taken care of. Owls, a bald eagle, and a couple of falcons are there. Its a really neat place.
Really enjoyed the Raptor pavilion. Great place to relax and enjoy nature
Very nice place to go to
