This place was peaceful & beautiful to walk around.. somewhat of a ghost town feel. This place has so much potential to be a hot spot for people to shop, eat and grab a drink if they made just some mild changes. It’s not worth driving 30min plus out of your way for it, however if you’re in the area it’s definitely something to just check out!
Very quiet on the weekends due to Covid. But nice site seeing a d great eats along the way.
It has water and you can walk around it. I would not fly in from a different country to visit this place. However, if you are close, then by all means make a stop. It will be enjoyable.
This place is amazing if youre looking for a calm place to walk or take a gondola ride we went here to take some pictures for a wedding and it went great I definitely reccomend giving this place a look at least once!!!
Beautiful hidden gem in Irving. Great place to take pictures as well.
Very nice place to take pictures. I didn’t try the gondolas we will next time.
Great scenary and place for just a romantic or relaxing walk. Food is close by as well.
This place is so beautiful and kinda resembles San Antonio river walk. Visited this place on a weekend but to our disappointment we couldn’t spend much time because it started raining heavily. Would love to visit this place again!
Always a beautiful place any time of the year... So many great places to dine and enjoy the outside!
We wanted to ride the paddle boat but got there to late, its still a beautiful place to walk and gather your thoughts
A very relaxing place in the middle of irving tx.
Very interesting to just walk down and enjoy walking along the path. Felt a nice breeze away from the sun.
This walk is a hidden gem in Irving. We are not familiar with its history but it seems to have been a large scale project from the 90s that never took off they way it should have. Still lots of potential. Irving is a great town and this is one of its best assets.
Beautiful place to visit . and also you will enjoy the different restaurant around
The place is best for walking.... and had lot of restaurants for food. Fantastic place for photoshoot...
Great place for a casual walk. Waterfalls on the south end of the can and walk up eateries towards the near areas.
I, as others, came to the Mandalay Canal Walk for a photo op. Mine was just too take photos of the architecture but found some blooms that I couldnt pass up. It was windy that day but didnt effect the views at all. There were other photography sessions so this is apparently a popular site. (Im from out of state)
Loved this canal walk! Cant believe I did not know about this hidden gem!!
It was my first at the Mandalay Canal Walk this past summer. Very beautiful, but it was so quiet. Maybe it was the holiday and people were out of town.
Beautiful, quiet and not a lot of people! Really unique place to walk.
One of the best places to walk around in the metropolex.
Beautiful Hidden Gem, water fountains throughout the area. Recommend everyone checks it out. Great place for a date and photos.
The walk is around 20 mins. We luckily found some street parking for free near some residence. Its very quiet. I would recommend going in the morning rather.
☆☆☆☆☆This place is the ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE to escape the city, without EVER leaving it!!! Ever since childhood, this has been my favorite place, it feels as if Im in Venice, Miami, Beverly Hills, and Paris ALL AT ONCE!!! ☆☆☆☆☆
Loved it.. Very quiet and clean place
The place was so silent .Its a good place for an evening walk.wedding photo shoots also took place there .loved it so much!better to look at sunset time
A little piece of Venice. Gorgeous, clean and not heavily trafficked.
Nice peaceful walk, lovely scenery.
This is a wonderful place take photos of your family. It feels like you have traveled to Italy. The architecture is very old world and it is an amazing place for wedding or family photos.
Architecture here is amazing. One of the most picturesque place for shoots.Since its close to a residential area makes few spots in here a bit noisy.
Stunning views of the canals and surprisingly never crowded.
Beautiful area was there to have my daughters pictures taken. It seemed like a popular place for other Seniors too!!!
Our favorite place to visit for 4th of July fireworks every year. The walk is pretty. Theres no rails from the walk to the water, so watch your kids. The apartments around the lake are well kept, so they add to the scenery. The walkway is mostly brick. Some are a bit uneven. The walkway goes around the lake. There are boats allowed in the lake. I wouldnt reccomend swimming in this lake though (yuk!).
Beautiful spot in the middle of the city. A great place for pictures: of people, plants, and architecture. This spot has been a part of my running route for a few years, and it is amazing to watch the seasons change.
One of my favorite locations for photo sessions!
Beautiful place for a casual stroll or taking photographs or getting a good work out in!
One of the most nice place in dallas area.
Kind of a hidden oasis, very pleasant to visit during the morning run.
Amazing place!! Super nice views, it defenitely makes you feel you are somewhere else!
Great place free of cost, specially for walking and jogging or just relaxing. Would recommend some piblic restrooms though. Over all a highly recommend place.
Very beautiful views for a nice stroll.
Very nice place for morning walk!
Was nice and peaceful with my love
Beautiful canal, perfect for an evening stroll or photoshoot. Alot of beautiful hidden gems... Family friendly
Wonderful shade, manicured foliage and the rustic and modern architecture make for a satisfying walk
Really good place for evening walksWonderful building and sculptures. Also good place foe photo shot.
This place was fantastic for an evening walk. Very neat surroundings with great views.
Beautiful. This place is simply too beautiful. Such a great escape from the heat of Texas. I had a great evening there that Sunday...
Nice walk on a beautiful day
Beautiful location to relax and walk. Gorgeous scenery to take photos.
It has always been a pretty place to walk or do photo shoots. There are now a few good restaurants and the area seems to be growing with luxury apartments and other businesses. Nice and clean area and definitely a nice place to finish a date or take a stroll.
Quiet and peaceful place for walking!
We went there on a Thursday and it was a very nice walk. The trail is an actual sidewalk so it is wheelchair friendly. Lots of restaurants to visit and there are Gondolas and lake tricycles I guess youd call them, that you can rent by the hour. All in all, you could easily spend an afternoon there and not be bored. This is a fantastic place to take a gondola ride and spend a peaceful afternoon. There are lots of places along the canal that provide fantastic background for photos.
Lovely please to stay for awhile
Awesome place to take a walk at night and enjoy the surroundings! Was here for the beginning portion of my bachelor party weekend before heading to Michigan. Had a tremendous time
I lived here for 6 years on the canal walking the dog on it on a regular basis. Little do people know that the canal, water falls and the lake are all part of the the water treatment area for the city. Clever design, and increases property values. Since they have finished the perimeter around the lake it has been slowly getting nicer. I wish that it would of been better than it is with restaurants on the canal but it never happened. Great escape from the city even if only for a couple hours.
I love this place. Its so nice and peaceful. I prefer to go when there is not a crowd and its a nice jogging place for runners as well! Beautiful! I recommend it!
Beautiful place for relaxing, a walk, jogging and dining
Beautiful, peaceful walk along the canal! I’m sure on weekends it’s more bustling with people and live music but is great for a quick walk on weekdays as well! Did not try the boating but it’s awesome that it’s an option:)
Nice place for a scenic walk not vert many restaurants to choose from but i believe that will change once the gables water street, and music factory developments open!!
The Canal was beautiful my friend and I walked around the canal we had lunch at the Ginger Man Restaurant the food was great and the waiter s were very nice, if your up for a little more fun they have Paddle boarding, and kayaks that you can rent, also they have various different venues were you can take selfies, family pictures.
Its a beautiful walk. Makes me feel like I have gone back in time.
Beautiful and peaceful place for a photo shoot with a bunch of amazing women
Love this charming old place! Great architecture, delightful patina, the meandering canal and engaging buildings are a wonderful place to explore on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
The place is good for walk. I also visited San Antonio river walk. Compare to that it is not a happening place. Place was not crowded when we visited.
My experience was on point .It was a surprise for me for my 50th bday .I loved every moment of it .
Great location for photography!
Pleasant for a short walk...
Good place to go during spring and summer, not for the winter.
Beautiful place for photos!!!!
Gorgeous place. Something you have to experience for yourself. Bring a loved one, and your camera.
This is getting better and better. Canal parking is $10 in the garage. Not a terrible price and I liked that it took credit cards as well as cash. There was a massage lady and juice vendor, fountains and what looked like a wedding party. The overall feel was peaceful, like a secret spot in the heart of Las Colinas. Im planning to go back on another Sunday afternoon.
So beautiful. It is like little Italy
Love photographing here! Beautiful
Quite n Calm place
Modern US town
Beautiful, quiet path to walk.
Is a beautiful place
I stayed in a hotel nearby while on a business trip. After the days meetings, I went into on a romantic walk with myself along the canal and had some ice cream. It is beautiful! There’s a gondola (which I didn’t do) and shops. It’s a beautiful walk!
This was my first trip to the canal for engagement photos and was a beautiful experience. Definitely, not my last trip out here to visit and sight see.
This is one of the only places I feel comfortable running alone at night. It is well lit, clean, and populated but not too busy. The trail is long and there are plenty of places to park to access
Beautiful area, minimal parking. The canal and lake are lovely with beautiful historic style buildings. Since I was there for the Dragon Boat and Kite festival, parking was $10. Hopefully it is less pricey on normal weekends.
Most beautiful place Ive been too seriously... I took my wedding photos here its the best place to go for photoshoots I highly recommend
Amazing location perfect for any type of PhotoshootDon’t forget to get a permit at the city hall
Mandalay Canal Walk is absolutely beautiful. The water is calming and serine. Mandalay Tower is a beautiful and sophisticated building with shops and very nice restaurants surrounded it. Venetian Terrace Restaurant is open Monday through Friday for lunch and the aroma of the food coming from this place is heavenly. The canal walk is like a place plucked right out of a movie. There are concrete benches in different locations along the walk where you can sit and have lunch, read a book or just take in the view. Although there are mostly business people occasionally standing here and there talking, this seems to be a fantastic place to meditate. There are also people walking, riding bikes, sitting in various locations, the and I myself, choose to skate. I skated to the bridge at Smith Landing and fantasized about living in the surrounding area. Thats how beautiful it is here. I can honestly say this is a place that I will definitely come to again and again just to get some peace, relaxation and quite. I recommend coming here any time. Oh, one thing. The parking is terrible.
Fun little place but alot of the buildings along the wall are vacant or just apartment buildings. I was hoping for more shops and restaurants to check out. Pretty landscaping to look at though.
Popular spot for photography. Its invented but very effectively. Feels like a Mediterranean canal with old buildings along it. Area has good restaurants and bars. Not exactly a destination unless its a prom or other photo OP but certainly nice to walk around if you happen to be in Las Colinas.
This place is a hidden treasure! Very close to Mustangs of Las Colinas. A great place for photography. It reminded me River Walk of San Antonio.
This is my favourite place.
I find it a quite place.Good for spending time. May be the timing was wrong. Also I found No Trespassing mentioned on some points. Please check you do not disturb someones privacy
My husband proposed to me here on a gondola/ dinner ride! Before that we would always go walk for riding bikes here when we couldnt sleep or had nothing to do. Definitely our favorite little spot to just walk and relax.
Didnt know it was there. Happened upon it, wasnt crowded, and loved the vibe. Similar to San Antonio Riverwalk, but with a more Renaissance feel.
