This place was great. Three of us had done one escape room before and two were newbies. Everyone had a great time. The puzzles were challenging and varied, and some required teamwork, which was great. Our game master, Brian, was also fantastic. We will be back to try another room!
Super fun, Illuminati puzzle room!
Great escape room, perfect for beginners and vets alike. I came here last month with my cowrokers, many of which had zero previous escape room experience but everyone had a moment where they contributed to the group and we finished the room with plenty of time to spare. I can only speak to the trapped in time room but it was well made and a fun theme. The staff was great as well, very passionate about creating a great room. I plan on coming back with my new escape team to try the CSI Hollwood room soon!
This escape room was so fun. Grandparents and grandchildren worked together and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and just a great overall experience. I would recommend this for everyone.
We wanted to do a team-building activity for a group of 4. None of us had done an escape room before. We decided to go with Puzzle Workshop near SNA airport and chose their Trapped in Time escape room. I dont think weve ever had this much collaboration and fun together as a team. There were different levels of puzzles and codes, and some surprises (but I wont tell you more!). Perfect mix to keep the whole experience interesting and make the time just fly by! The experience itself was quite exhilarating! And yes: we escaped. They give you good instructions before-hand, explain how the mechanism of particular locks that might be in the room work, so you dont need any special experience. Even if youre a rookie like us, youll get debriefed enough that you can take this challenge on! Highly recommend. Will definitely come here again for one of their other rooms.
Awesome escape room, very well done. Went with a group of 6 and we all enjoyed the experience. I look forward to coming back and trying the harder rooms. If your considering going bring at least 4 people 6 is better so you can sort it out in the hour provided.
Nice experience, took my son and a group of his friends for their first escape room. Alex was very cordial and helpful with the boys
Everyone working here was incredibly helpful and friendly. Some of the best customer service I have had in any room anywhere in the country. As for the rooms themselves, they were a delightful mix of classic escape room puzzles and feels with innovative technology and clever twists.
I initially chose Puzzle workshop out of the handful of escape rooms with great reviews in Orange County due to their being one of the few with a willingness to accommodate custom times. Sure, it cost a little extra, but I had 12 people to herd around a very tight schedule that day, and Kym was absolutely instrumental in helping me make it all work.I initially booked 2 simultaneous rooms (6 people for each room) at a custom time with Kym. Then I suddenly had 2 people drop out 3 days before the event. Then I had nearly everyone drop out of the scheduled event after the escape rooms. Then I had the wild idea to try and book a third escape room immediately after the first two in its place instead, and then tried to figure out if I had enough people interested ... all of this literally the night before we were supposed to show up at Puzzle Workshop. And at each new development, I was calling Kym trying to keep her updated and exploring our options and backup plans.Kym was such a sweetheart through all of this. She was very quick to respond, even in the evening. She fielded all of my last-min updates with aplomb and good cheer. She helped me figure out how we could use the credit from the people who dropped out of the first two rooms to apply to the third, and applied roundabout discounts using gift card specials that ultimately saved us 20%. She was quick to grasp the logistical details, and at every new development, she assured me, Well make it work. As someone who works in operations, I appreciated immensely her grasp of details, organizational skills, and patience. As for the puzzles themselves, the first two rooms (Illuminati and CSI) nearly kicked our butts! Our two teams literally escaped only seconds apart, just 3-4 minutes before the hour was up. We mixed our veterans and newbies, so we werent at our most efficient, but the rooms were definitely a fun challenge. The last room, the Time travel, we finished much faster. Probably a combination of us now being primed, and also our team now having shrunk to our usual tried-and-true veterans, making us much more efficient.Overall, a very professional and fun experience. I really like that they understand how to run a business as well as putting together a good puzzle room. I would be absolutely delighted to visit them again after theyve turned over their current rooms.
Amazing fun. Really awesome puzzles. Almost got stumped but we were able to get out with 1 second to spare.
Out of the 25+ escape rooms Ive done, the 2 Ive tried at Puzzle Workshop (Illuminati & Trapped In Time) are 2 of my favorites! Top 5 for sure. Their new room, Trapped In Time, is extremely nostalgic & tons of fun! Their rooms are the best Ive seen at combining excellent puzzles with awesome immersion without sacrificing one for the other. Even though were coming from over an hour away, weve already made the trip out there 2 seperate times because their rooms are so worth it, & will definitely be back to try the 3rd!
Went here with my co-workers to do the Illuminati puzzle. While we didnt solve all the puzzles, we did enjoy the experience. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a challenge.
Our company came here for our xmas retreat and all 13 of us loved it!!! We had a blast. Very well organized and challenging and fun!
Having not done any escape rooms in my life, I was very pleased with how things turned out for my first experience in an escape room. I was able to play all three rooms: Secrets of the Illuminati, CSI: Hollywood, & Trapped in Time. Now keep in mind that I have never played an escape room before so I was not expecting anything specific. First thing I noticed was how different the building looked. I wasnt sure if this was how all escape rooms looked like but the outside of the building looked like an office to me, which was strange but didnt bother me at all. Walking up the stairs I was confronted with a front desk and a very office-like atmosphere, which added onto the slight weirdness, but then again, I wasnt too bugged by it. I went to the side of Secrets of the Illuminati and CSI: Hollywood (there were 2 suites; Trapped in Time on the other side). The staff were very friendly and debriefed our missions which added onto the hype of my expectations. I was promptly directed to my room and the fun began. All three escape rooms had their own vibe and a very well-designed appearance filled with puzzles and props. All of the rooms had a television that displayed hints (you get to have unlimited hints). Personally felt that the Illuminati room was the hardest but all of the rooms gave you a wonderful time; be prepared to use your brains because mine was fried after not one but three rooms. All in all, visit this place if youre looking for a great time to spend with friends solving intricate themed-puzzles.
We really enjoyed finding Ruby Valentine! The staff was very nice and the game was fun. I had my 63 year old mother and 2 kids, 12 and 15. Fun for everyone. We would love to do another one but we’re only here for a short visit From Arizona!
My company went here for a team building exercise - we had a group of 20, and this place was able to schedule it so we all had a good time! Clever puzzles (the owners are professional game designers) and nicely themed with good music.Definitely recommend for co-workers or friends - so much fun! I plan to come back with my family to do their other room.
We did the Trapped in Time puzzle room here. The puzzles were innovative and unique, Ive done four or five escape rooms now and the ideas they had were new to me and my group. The reason Im not giving five is because there werent enough puzzles for a large group to constantly have something to work on. We only had five people but there were a few times when we all stared at the same thing. They said rated it an easy room and I would say that is accurate. If you havent done a lot of escape rooms before this would be a good place to start.
Puzzle Workshop is one of the best escape rooms in Orange County! Ive done over 30 escape rooms, and Puzzle Workshop excels at unique puzzles, fun room decor, and great customer service. The staff is really friendly and cares about giving you the best experience possible. They are located near John Wayne airport and do accommodate special appointments. Definitely recommend it if youre looking for a fun time with your friends!
Ahmad is the best. Trust him, he is expert specially with scissors.
We drove from Beaumont to do this escape room. So worth the drive Very impressed amazing set up for Back in Time. We loved it and will definitely be back to do another escape room. So much fun and bonding for family. Highly recommend.
As a seasoned veteran of escape rooms, I was skeptical whether I could be surprised anymore. However, the Scarlett Starlet room-created by former Blizzard employees- provided an exquisite mix of challenge, fun and entertainment that blew me away. It was a masterfully designed experience which I will not ruin here, but I highly recommend. I cant wait to try Illuminati!
Too much stepts ( even if you already know all the clues and you only want to APPLY them, definitely it’ll take 30 minutes to make it ).I blieve they need to revise their second room for sure.I wanted to rate them 3, but I just did 4, just because I did not want to ruin their Google ratings.
Very fun puzzle room with some unique puzzles. It was par for the course in difficulty (I ran the illuminati room, and the CSI is supposed to be equivalent). We were able to solve the room in 59 minutes with two veterans and 4 newbies. Staff was nice and accommodating and provided an overall great Fathers Day experience for our whole group.
Very nice place. Enjoyed my time there!! Kinda expensive though.
Tons of fun! We did the Illuminati puzzle and had a great time. The puzzles are well designed and there was plenty for our group to do. Definitely excited to do another room here!
This was one of the best escape rooms I have ever done! We were in the Scarlet Starlet room and man, those were some innovative puzzles! The decorations were on point and the and the puzzles were full of surprises. What a blast! I will definitely be going again soon.
Great experience! Illuminati Room was quite enjoyable, with a mix of puzzles that challenged you in a variety of ways. Puzzles were very diverse, requiring communication, dexterity, critical thinking, or just plain old searching. Overall, a great experience!
This place was fun, we went as a family and had a good time. It wasnt the best escape room weve ever been to, and the guy was distracted with a new party that came in and we were standing there having completed the puzzle and waited a while for him to be finished wondering if we had solved the case. Not the best but definitely not bad at all, worth the Groupon.
Loved the escape room we tried, had some struggles, really had to think. But made it out with 2 minutes to spare! Coming back ASAP for their other two rooms. Really proud of our group for winning our first room ever!
Tried the illuminati room, absolutely loved it! The theme and puzzles were amazing. I especially loved all the unique technology - some of the tech was totally mind blowing. The owner told me to come back and try their new room, which I plan to do the next time in Irvine. Highly recommended!
This is was the best escape room Ive ever done! The puzzles were well done and not overly complicated. Everyone in our group had something to do and there were no stragglers. Cant wait to come back for the new rooms!
This is for the Illuminati room. Great production value room. Puzzles are logical with some unique takes. One of the better escape rooms in Orange Country.
My friends and I have been to a few escape rooms and this was the best one!The employees were fantastic - friendly, welcoming, helpful (we needed a few hints) and created a great overall experience. The room was challenging (yet escape-able), team oriented, creative and most importantly, FUN!Definitely visit and and enjoy!
Had a great time with my kids at room! The staff is so friendly - amazing customer service. Loved the puzzles and technology. Will definitely come back to check out their other room.
So much fun! Took me an hour to figure out how to get out, but it was definitely worth it! Everyone should try this out and I cant wait to go back again :)
Great puzzle pretty challenging and fun, lots of teamwork needed
This is my favorite escape room game in Orange County- the puzzles are really well designed and the staff is so friendly. Cant wait to try their new time travel room when it opens in a few weeks! Highly recommend!
Reccomend this for groups with dysfunctional issues. Me and my co-workers enjoyed this team building activity.
Great set of escape rooms! Ive only done the Illuminati room so far, but plan to come back for the Starlet room. Really well designed puzzles. Best escape room Ive done. I made it out! Can you?
Did the Trapped In Time Room. First time doing an escape room. Had a blast. Can’t wait to go back for the other rooms.
Puzzle Workshop puts forth some awesome escape rooms, seamlessly integrating the theme into the puzzles and set design to make rooms like CSI: Hollywood and Illuminati Secrets an enveloping experience from the moment the first door is opened. This place is perfect for both those new to escape rooms or veterans! With a great space in irvine that is easy to get to (your GPS wont lead you astray the way some escape rooms are located), Puzzle Workshop is really a great time out.
OMGsh. I had the best time ever. Took my 12 & 16 year old and did this as a family. Best bonding experience!
This was so much fun! Im from the Bay Area and we do escape rooms all the time. This one has some of the coolest tech Ive seen so far and tons of ah-ha moments! Our group really had a blast and well be coming here again next time we are in SoCal.
We were really excited to go to here but because of the false open time it gave we could not attend the escape room. Really upset at the incorrect information. The store needs to update time schedule
Awesome escape room! Really great design of the puzzles. I felt like I had been transported to another world. Highly recommend you check it out.
An amazing experience to do with friends. The puzzles are challenging but solvable and the ambience is so cool. Getting out with only a minute to spare feels amazing!
Checked this place out and had a great time! Employees were super helpful, and the decor was awesome. Definitely would recommend this escape room for anyone whos looking for a fun activity with family or friends!
One of the best escape rooms Ive experienced. Fun, well thought out challenges.
Took my family here over Thanksgiving weekend. The staff were so friendly and really made sure that my kids had a great time! Excellent escape room - A++ puzzles and fun effects that everyone loved!
My family of 4 are total noobs to escape rooms and we took on the Illuminati and had a good time. The rules were clearly explained, the decor was immersive, and the puzzles werent too complex. They were kind enough to give us an extra 10 minutes but we didnt finish in time so no chicken dinner for us. To give you an idea of difficulty, a family of 4, two adults and two young teens (none of us had previous escape room experience) made it to the next to last puzzle in 70 minutes. This was a most excellent adventure!
I have been to several escape rooms, this one is by far the best. Puzzles are professionally designed, challenging, educational, and full of fun. Décors are creative, unique and brilliant. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Great experience, highly recommended!
Very fun place my whole family enjoyed it!
Puzzles were challenging with a variety of solving skills required. Great for a group of 5 or more people.
We had a great time! We are looking forward to the next one.
Been to a few escape rooms now. Was really impressed with the look and feel of Puzzle Workshop. Staff was nice and happily answered all our questions. Had a great time!
Awesome escape room! everything is mechanical / automatic, theres no person in the room watching and breaking immersion. puzzles are really well designed too!
This was really fun, and it had a good mixture of puzzles. The staff was really friendly. Cant wait to come back.
So much fun solving the puzzles. Better with more people to help each other :)
Went here for a team building activity- the team loved it. Very accommodating staff! Great tech and fun puzzles
I have only recently started doing escape rooms. Needless to say I am HOOKED, I have done 3 in LA and now 2 in Orange County. The illuminati escape room is currently my 5th room so I definately feel I have a taste for it. Unfortunately I am struggling to give 3 stars. First off the staff was lovely. Very nice people. And they gave us the needed information and they were very patient. They played us the video and then we walked in the room. Needless to say I was expecting more from the room. One small book shelf, a cheap tin knight, and a near empty desk. The goal of the first room is to mainly find out how to open the door to the second. Which requires you to find puzzle pieces. Yes cardboard puzzle pieces. They felt very awkwardly placed. Big desk drawer, small puzzle piece in the dead center and thats all. 3 books on the bookshelf and as you would expect puzzle piece forced between the pages. Im sorry but putting a regular cardboard puzzle together isnt creative. The spelunking aspect of escape rooms is what really has me hooked. I love to FEEL like Im in the world. And unfortunately this one felt dated. There are a few cleaver puzzles that I wont ruin here. But there is a puzzle that involves candles and its honestly boring, everyone in my group agreed the pacing of this room is off and just stops being fun, especially with the trend of sudoku puzzles in escape rooms. Oh and there is a big tv on the wall where they can put clues up. It also shows the time. For me it pulled the atmosphere right out of the room.We made it out but it felt anticlimactic. I was disappointed mainly because of the high rating from everyone. I did another escape room that is also small from Escape Room Era. And let me tell you for being nearly as small that one makes you FEEL like you are in the world. Big book shelves and plenty of things to touch and move while being reasonably with out technology. And makes you constantly guess whats going to be next. This room just felt a bit random. So far out of the 5 rooms I have done in my life this is the weakest. And also the only one I have left a review on . Thank you for the nice staff, perhaps consider renovating the room and make it a little more engaging or mysterious. Thank you
Illuminati room was a great experience. Staff carefully watches and tastefully knows how to provide hints without ruining the experience. Looking forward to come back for the Scarlet room
This is definitely my favorite escape room in orange county. the puzzles were so creative. totally recommend it!
Fun place, great room, super nice people!
Its really close to the airport so we got a quick game in on a layover. I heard it was designed by people from Blizzard, it. Very well done.
Tight, intimate room. Strong theming, more elegant than many of the other rooms Ive done. We had a great time.
They have well thought out escape rooms with great decor, excellent props, and great staff. Overall wonderful experience.
Very well put together. The puzzles were difficult but not impossible, everything worked, and overall it was a fun experience.
The Illuminati is a great escape room and the staff do an awesome job keeping track of how you are doing. We wish that they had more than just two rooms.
What are your success rates on all of the rooms you offer? my friends and I are looking for a challenging one:)
Got a deal through Groupon so decided to come here. Was way too expensive for the experience offered. Definitely would not come back unless they lowered prices.
The staff is friendly, the challenge was set up really well and required multiple problem solving techniques to complete
Incredible host and puzzles. Cant wait to try more rooms.
Very fun. Did the Indiana-Jones-esque room. One point off for one of the clues not being clear to anyone in the party. We were on the right track up the clue didnt seem correct (photos).
Went there with a few friends and had a wonderful time! The puzzles were very well thought out and the room was a lot of fun.
I love escape rooms and this is one of the best. Would definitely come back!
Love all the puzzles and everyone is great. We had a blast
Such an amazing team building activity! Great time and creative problem solving exercises.
One of the best! The great staff and the great rooms make thus an escape room you sure wont want to miss!
Super fun. Had a great time with my friends. Highly recommended.
The staff was very helpful and the rooms were extremely well constructed and immersive! One of the best escape rooms I have been too.
We had a bday party for my 14 yo son. Although they did not solve the room, they had a great time. Great staff.
The room was perfectly challenging and a lot of fun. Definitely the best Ive tried.
Best escape room Ive played in so Cal. Would recommend to anyone who likes to be challenged and awarded.
The escape room was fun, and just the right level of difficulty and whimsy.
A great escape room with fun and challenging puzzles, I had an amazing time with my friends!
Awesome experience and awesome decor. Definitely one of my favorite escape rooms that Ive been to.
Best escape room in orange county! I love these.
Had fun with the whole family. Neat little place.
Great rooms. Great staff. Lots of fun.
Ive done pretty much all of the escape rooms in San Francisco so I was stoked to check out this new one I had heard so many good things about in Orange County. And I gotta say that this is the best one Ive ever done. The puzzles were incredibly clever and well constructed! Each puzzle flowed logically into the next and everything just tied together perfectly. While some escape rooms Ive been to, it feels like the puzzles are almost an afterthought. But in this one, it really did feel like the design of the puzzles were completely integrated into the room itself.I got a chance to talk to the room creators and after doing a little research, I discovered that they are game designers for Blizzard Entertainment! No wonder their rooms are so well designed. I mean, who doesnt love Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, HearthStone, and all of their other awesome games? The theme of the room was really immersive and it really felt like I had been transported into another world. After doing over a dozen escape rooms throughout California, I can safely say that this one is my favorite. If you have some time and youre in the area, grab a few friends and try it out for yourself.
We did it! Lots of fun, well thought out puzzles and well constructed rooms.
Amazing experience. Had a lot of fun
Great fun. Group of 6 was perfect for success.
Had a blast, solved it with my friends with 13+ minutes to spare.
