We were in top corner but actually loved the seats. You dont have to stand each time someone comes and goes. We could see the whole stage albeit distantly but with a big production it worked.

Clowes is a nice hall to catch a play, speaker, etc.I recently went to see a stand-up comedian and the acoustics of the hall lent itself to the performance wonderfully.Things to Note:- Parking garage is approximately 100 yards from the hall. Not hateful to get in or out of.- Seats are reasonably comfortable. Nothing overly fantastic, but if youre tall your knees wont be digging into the seat in front of you.- There was an open bar that took credit card. Drinks were served in reusable cups and there were drink holders on the back of the seats. (Not sure if this is available for every performance - Id call the hall before hand if youre hoping to have an open bar at your event.)Overall, this was a nice experience. Definitely planning on visiting again as there was a really good line up scheduled for the first half of 2020.

Very clean and easy to navigate, the staff was helpful on directing us where to go. Its comfortable and bathrooms are nice. Paid parking is close. Will definitely be going to shows here in the future without hesitation. Will try to sneak in my own snacks/candy as the concessions were expensive!

How is it that a $11ticket turns into a $50 ticket. Our seats were directly behind what they were charging $50 for. Prices increase due to the weekend we were told. We were able to get the $11seats together. Was plenty of empty seats next to me. Feel this is taking advantage of the consumer. Play was great and very funny.

This is one of the best venues for the arts in the city! Its small enough that all of the seats have a great view, but big enough to handle most concerts. And the slope is perfect, you dont have to move back and forth to see around the head in front of you!

I took my grand daughter for her special birthday to see Baby Shark. She had a great time. It was our first time there and was amazed at how beautiful it was. There is not a bad seat there. Will go back to see other shows and will highly recommend to anybody. Thank you to all who worked there for being so welcoming and nice.

This is Indys better venue for watching big shows, but be aware that its also bigger than your average Broadway theater. That means you could be sitting quite a bit further away from the stage that your ticket might lead you to believe. As with any crowded venue, make sure to use the restrooms before the show starts because youll be standing in line for a very long time otherwise. The acoustics are mostly fine, but keep in mind that youre mostly getting traveling casts with mics anyway.I have not been here for other non-broadway concerts, so YMMV.

Needs to have aisles on main floor seating. In an emergency, people would never all make it out. Ticket procurement =very poor service. Telephone personnel lie, or just plain dont know about what they are speaking.

Apparently they recently added security and are utterly unprepared to handle crowds now. When people complained that 1/3 of the crowd was still lined down the street 10 minutes after the show started, ushers simply shrugged and said should have been here an hour in advance. But at least the theater is safe from rogue snacks.

We only visit once a year, or every other year to see the Nutcracker Ballet. It has become a wonderful tradition when we can afford it. Staff is friendly. The only problem we have ever had was finding parking, but now they have a new parking garage! Pricey, but worth it, especially in the winter. The only other problem, some years ago an usher took us to our seats. At the break, we were told to move. Turned out 1st usher read our tickets wrong. The couple who had those seats were pretty nasty about it, even though it wasnt our fault. When quickly got up and we got to our real seats our view was even better!Still, I would never choose the box seats. Its difficult to see well from there. Also on the right side of the hall, there is one aisle seat that the view of the stage is completely blocked by a support structure. Very upsetting they would charge this seat the same as one of the expensive seats since you cannot see around it at all. Butlers Nutcracker is a great tradition (as long as you have a good seat) The ballerinas are exquisite. Each year they do a few things differently so its exciting to see what little surprises they put in each year. So it never gets boring even if you go every single year.

We just went for a Tap Pack show. Parking in the garage was an expensive $10 but it was soo close to the Hall that I cant complain too much. I enjoy how many doors there are to the seating areas - keeps bottlenecks from occuring. Staff at each door to tell you if its the closest to your tickets seat or if not where to go. Very helpful. Clean facility, easy to navigate.

So I went to Clowes for a school field trip. It was for a presentation rather than a play. Our field trip was disorganized but Clowes staff was not. They had diagrams of where each school was to sit, numerous ushers and were very nice & helpful. Id love to go back for a play sometime on my own.

I love Clowes Memorial Hall. The Butler grounds are always beautifully manicured. The lobby areas are very well maintained, in addition to the bathrooms. The seats are extremely comfortable and the spacing is not confining. There really is not a bad seat inside the venue, which is always pristine. The acoustics are that of a Broadway Theater. The people in the Box Office, are always friendly, helpful and very patient about answering questions and when you are trying to select seating. My only complaints are the entertainment chosen for performances, could be more diverse, appealing to a wider demographic; and if some of the childrens school age performances, could be on Saturday and Sunday, not just during the day.

Nice theatre. Medium sized, and best visual aspect from any seat in the house compared to the other theatres Ive been to. Seating is comfortable with leg room and lower seats so that short peoples feet can touch the floor. Modern with ample restrooms. Parking garage right behind building with traffic officers aiding the exit of the garage afterward. On Butler University campus. Fairly easy access to Interstate.

Always love to come here for a show. Seats are comfortable, sound is great, and for the most part, the seats are spread out so even if you have a few basketball players sitting in front of you, you can still see the stage. This might be less true in the rows closer to the front, but in my experience Ive always been able to enjoy the shows here.

Great service and theatre. Chairs are a little small and not much space to walk passed folks. The do in fact recycle their cups but on a large scale for the whole school of Butler. We had concerns, but they hunted us down to explain since we didnt get a straight answer about recycling the first time. I love their support of the LGBTQ+ community and the big names and shows they bring in.

Clowes is a great facility for events. Went and saw Fluffy preform. There is not a seat in the house you cant see what is going on. Had a great time and would defenantly go back for future events.

Really good venue even in the cheap seats all the way in the back at the top. Good view. Could hear everything on stage just fine. At least there is a policeman to help direct traffic heading out.

Great venue to see a show. If you park in the sunset garage, getting out after the show is a big pain. The theater is beautiful. The view is great from just about every seat. The concessions are as expected. The selections are average and the prices are inflated. For two waters, a can of Pepsi, and three candy bars the total was $20. The only downfall of the night was the constant flashing strobe lights from the ushers. The second anyone got out their camera or phone to attempt a non flash picture, the ushers were there to give them(and everyone around them) a bright and intrusive scolding. This was much much more interruptive then simply allowing the taking of a picture. So be warned.

Parking structure was very nearby. Even with the low temperatures the walk was quick and comfortable. The building itself is very well kept and modernized. We saw a comedian on tour here and the sound system was fantastic. Im unsure who supplied the lighting but it was very well done. Two complaints, the Male restrooms are all upstairs and they had signs up stating upstairs were closed. Also the seating rows are much closer together than other venues Ive been too. If someone wants to leave the aisle the aisle has to stand up, there is no scooching by and brushing knees. Others have to physically stand up and press themselves against the back of the seats.

I came with a group of four to see “The Book of Mormon”. We arrived 15-20 minutes early to the show only to be met with a line that wrapped around the building and all the way back past and around the parking lot. It’s not the fact that I minded security - However, they didn’t have enough security there to keep the line moving quickly - Nor did they postpone starting the show (even though there were at least 300 people standing outside at 7:30 when the show was supposed to start) instead of postponing the show they started the show. Causing many people to miss at least half of the first act.—UPDATE:After speaking with staff at the theater they were very apologetic and understanding for the situation, and did everything that they could to make up for the poor expirence. Great customer service.
