I went to see Ryan Niemiller with my husband for his birthday. Our original date was canceled due to COVID shutdowns, but they were very upfront about rescheduled dates and times, and offered refunds for those who did not want to attend the rescheduled time. They were very disabled friendly! I called ahead to make sure they knew I use a wheelchair, and they had our table reserved with only one seat in a very accessible location. The parking, entrance and entire seating area was accessible and easy to access. The bathrooms are accessible, and they even have a private bathroom for disabled as well that is spacious enough for a caregiver to assist if needed. The staff were very accommodating with any and all needs, and very professional. I felt as if I was accepted there, and they did not treat me any different due to my disability. The food is good, and worth the 2 item minimum purchase! Im happy to see a comedy club that allows a 2 item minimum rather than 2 drinks, as neither myself or my husband drink alcohol. Our server, Elizabeth, was great! Very attentive and payed attention to detail. They took COVID precautions seriously, ensured proper social distancing with capacity restrictions and spacing out seating, and encouraged masks. The show was great, and I plan to make Helium Comedy Club of Indianapolis one of my new go to places for comedy fun!
We had a great time seeing Gary Owen last night! They took great precautions with Covid and well be back soon.
A great night out. I went during open mic night and nearly every comic blew away my expectations. Wait staff was fantastic. Covid precautions were diligently followed, so I felt safe. They have definitely earned my business and I hope to go back sooner rather than later
Headliner was great; thank you Ryan Niemiller. I don’t appreciate the constant interruptions by wait staff during show, especially the fact patrons are bothered to pay/close out their tabs during headliners act. That business model needs to change as it is a distraction to the show for patrons and extremely unprofessional in my opinion. Especially with COVID, there were NO RELEASE ORDER after the show just a non-spacing FREE FOR ALL that was unsafe. Have Patrons pay their bills AFTER THE SHOW so not to cause a distraction; additionally that would allow for an “ORDERLY DISMISSAL” and safer atmosphere with COVID restrictions. One other tip, HOUSE OPENER COMEDIAN IS AWFUL.
Lol they charge you if you don’t order their expensive food. They don’t even warn you and charge you at the end for it. That’s trash service if you ask me.
We came to the Helium Comedy Club for the Gus Johnson Comedy stand up and it was a great night! Our server Ben was super helpful and accommodating! We didn’t mind that you had to buy two items for admission per person because the food was super good and I got coffee. Highly recommend the pretzel bites or spinach artichoke dip!! Gus was hilarious and all of the staff was super nice and made the night even better!
The bar staff has to get better. And the food has to get better.. Itll make this a very enjoyable place. The place is always very clean its a very nice venue just the bar and food sigh
Had a great COVID night out. Tables are spread out, masks were worn and the comedy was great!
Helium did a great job adapting to this strange time we are in. The staff were fantastic, the show was HILARIOUS, and everyone felt safe and relaxed. If you havent been to Helium, I highly recommend seeing a show. They always have the best comics onstage and the service is superb!
I love the comedy atmosphere. 3 chicken strips with a ton of fries for $13 is REALLY high! And the food isnt always hot. Fried chicken wings would be an awesome addition to the menu. I know for a fact A LOT of customers would agree.
My boyfriend and I were there last night to see Andrew Conn and Catfish. This was our first time there and was very shocked at our drink and food check. We got chicken strips w/fries and spinach and artichoke dip w/tortilla chips. We got 3 long islands, and 2 slices of peanut butter cheesecake. It came up to $94. Each drink was $15 which is absolutely ridiculous! Places like that will let you know how much the food is but dont have anywhere how much each drink is. Im glad I had the money on a credit card or else we couldnt have paid. We may go back at someday but we definitely wont be spending that kind of money.
Great comedy club - but fair warning, stick to beer. The cocktails here are horrendous - I have never had bottom shelf liquor that tastes so foul. I wish I was joking when I say that my old fashioned tasted like it was made with Skol vodka and a drop of food coloring.
Great comedy in a great atmosphere. 3 stars due to mediocre service (cannot go to bar yourself right now), and outrageously overpriced frozen food. Was 23 dollars for a sampler that was not even remotely fresh. We ordered it and had it in 2 minutes. Go for comedy but dont eat
Went to see TK Kirkland. The club is nice. Social distancing was in effect. Drink and appetizer menu are reasonably priced.
My first time here was a good time, Aries Spears was hilarious & very friendly before and after his set, however, they could provide larger tables for parties of 4. I also suggest you eat before you go or afterwards because the food was overcooked and overpriced for the portions... Also ask how much your drink is before ordering because my Long Island was only $7 but my husbands Patron & pineapple drink was $25 and he had 2 of them. We still plan to return this weekend after dinner of course, lol.
Let me start off my saying the comedians were great what Im up set with is the fact that i bought reserved table tickets the most expensive ones they had assume wed have good seats. This was not the case we were shoved basically in the corner and on a tiny table mean while the group in front of us had a normal size table and where front row. I asked them after the show and they only purchased regular ticket.Based in that alone I would not go back to this club. We payed extra and got worse seats and a smaller table then people who payed less. Horrible business practice for the club
Helium Comedy Club in situated in downtown Indianapolis. Parking is conveniently located in the Circle Center Mall garage ($7.00-$15.00) with the easiest access being on Georgia St. The club is located on the corner of Georgia and Meridian. The club has a slightly upscale feel but is completely casual and comfortable. General admission starts at $25.00 with reserved seating around $33.00 depending on the comedian. There is a 2 item minimum purchase per patron. The bar is open and is a nice place to have a cocktail while waiting for the show. Drink prices start at $3.50 for a soft drink up to $9.00 for a cocktail, beer, or wine. They offer appetizers, salads, and sandwiches and a few dinner options and desert. Prices range from $6.00-$22.00We had the pleasure of seeing Shaun Latham, Alex Price, and Hannah ? All three were very talented! They did not disappoint! A nice date night out, a break from the same old routine.
I have been to Helium Comedy Club - Indianapolis several times since this location has opened. The staff is always friendly and professional. The food is decent but the drinks are fabulous!
Went here to see drew lynch and it was so fun! The club was the perfect size for everyone to have a good seat. They had a nice menu of food and drinks and the staff was friendly. Had a blast here
I love this lil comedy spot. Their drinks arent that strong but they are doable for the entertainment. Ive seen some popular comedians here. Always a good time and always funny
Nice clean club. Enjoyed EarthQuake
Took my wife, she loved it, our first time.
Indy FINALLY has a club that knows comedy! After years of being insulted by stale performers at the other club, were finally getting some nationally known comedians. The other club stated that east/west coast comedy doesnt work in this area, yet Ive seen more shows this month than I have all year at the place with the brickwall backdrop.Im looking forward to seeing the showroom decorated more, but Ive been pleasantly surprised by the wait staff and how the club operates. Check Helium out - you wont be disappointed.
We hosted our company holiday party here and we had a wonderful time. There is nice private area with plenty of seating and a bar upstairs. We had a party of 40 and the price was very reasonable for a company event. The food was delicious, the service was fast and courteous, and the sales staff was helpful and easy to work with. We laughed so hard our cheeks were hurting by the time we left. Thanks for the great time, Helium!
There is absolutely no bad seat in the house. Ive been to a few shows now and I really dig the general vibe. Beautiful mural. Id come for the pretzel bites alone, but theyre booking really good acts!! Just saw one of my favorite comics, for cheaper AND better all-around experience than any show Ive been to at The Murat. 2/3 performances Ive been to, they had a short line for a meet & greet after the show with the performers. That isnt really my thing but if its yours then this is the place for it.Only constructive criticism is that the sound in this place is TOO good -- if the comic gets carried away with their voice, it booms through the speakers and can be really jarring or obnoxious. Not at the performers fault, just that the sound system is picking up sound too easily at times.
Just left the Bill Bellamy show and it was AMAZING ! Do yourself a favor and catch a show! Had a great night. Atmosphere was great. Will definitely go again soon. Oh and its my wifes birthday so the staff generously gave us tickets to any upcoming show of our choice. I recommend Helium to anyone who loves to laugh.*UPDATE* Went back to Helium to see Corey Holcomb show. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Even better seats than the first time. Two shows= two thumbs up!
I love Helium. Among others I have seen Michelle Wolf, Nicole Byer, and Beth Stalling there in the past 6 months. An excellent offering of top notch comics, friendly staff, and good food and drinks. I anticipate seeing myself at Helium monthly with the bookings they have. Im so happy to have a club with diverse offerings that I havent seen in the city elsewhere.
I just love, love Helium. I saw Fortune Feimster this summer and I saw Nicole Byers this time. Great food, definitely get the Pretzels and its very affordable for a fun time out with friends. High recommend taking a group with you. If its sold out, youll be setting with people you dont know otherwise. It was nice meeting new people we sat with the first time but it was a better experience this time because I knew who I was looking over to laugh with.
Great show, social distance seating, friendly staff.
This place is our entertainment top option! The service, roster of shows, and overall experience never disappoints.
Great staff and performers. Everyone went out of their way to ensure social distancing.
Great laughs, good drinks, terrible food
Great place, organized and friendly staff.Even with a large volume of patrons, everything runs very smoothly.Another positive commonly overlooked: the two drink minimum (such as is present at all places of this nature) in this place, you have a two ITEM minimum. Drink/food or anything else - gives you some options. We saw TJ Miller here and it was fantastic.
Great place to see a show! They bring in top-notch comedians and the layout of the room is perfect! Its not overly crowded and theres not a bad seat in the house.
Our first time to this place and we enjoyed ourselves. Funny performances, good drink pours and good food. Most comedy clubs weve been to give u short pours and the food sucks. Not here. Pleasantly surprised.
Looks like theres no such thing as a bad seat at this place. This was my first time though, so dont quote me. The menu and service are nice, the view and audio are awesome. I am definitely planning to make this a regular place to visit.
We had a ball.cant wait for the next show
This was my first time at a comedy club. I was a little confused about the ticket policy, we picked our tickets up from will call about 2 hours before the show. We went to the 10pm show on Saturday night. The staff at the ticket desk were so friendly and helpful. My party of 2 was sat at a small table that had chairs for 4. While I am well aware that this is not a restaurant, the tables seemed small if 4 people did happen to order food. The show was not overly packed so no one was sat at our table. We did not order food but I thought the prices looked reasonable, and comparable to similar venues. I had a mixed drink from their menu, I am not a regular drinker, but I could not taste the alcohol in the drink I had, so I was disappointed by a weak cocktail that cost me $10. I ordered another hoping it was just a mixing error, but got the same thing the second time as well. It had a great flavor though. Two guys next to us acted out but were asked to quiet down, and as a result got mad and left. It was nice that they asked them to quiet down. The comedians were really funny and interacted with the crowd well. I would definitely go back.
Nice and clean place. Very glad you can get in from the parking garage without going outside because it raining hard when we went. The acts we saw were very funny and the two item minimum is reasonable, just remember only items bought in the comedy room are counted. Food is good but the steak egg rolls could use more steak.
Awesome comedy show with Tony rock
Been awhile since I had been to a comedy club in Indy...ever changing clubs over the years. It was a great night out in vibrant downtown. Great time! Great show! We will do it again.
Loved it! Only one complaint. My waitress was MIA untill the show started. I looked like everyone else that worked there was on it except her. There was a two drink minimum and she only came around once. Im sure I paid for two. The bartender was amazing!
Ive been to Helium a handful of times now, and each experience has been fantastic. Went to the NYE show and had a blast. Great food, great service, and great entertainment. Helium is turning into a go to for me and my husband to have a night out.
Great customer service well laid out super clean nice environment food was not so good beer was good. Comedy was great. Will definitely go back. You have to order a minimum of 2 items per person its any 2 items which is convenient. Great location and fair prices to park in mall garage and walk right over. Short easy walk.
We went to see Steve-O here and we had a great time. We ate as well and the food was really good as well. Definitely will be going back.
I visited Helium for the first time last weekend for the Maria Bamford show. Will definitely be returning! Its a wonderful venue with great views and sound. The service was also excellent.
Ok, its actually a really good venue, and everything worked out well and it was a great show.... But, they offered to upgrade our tickets (I was with 2 couples after having been very recently divorced) until they realized I was single, and they told us the promo was for couples only. That was pretty lame, and hurt my feels.
Very easy to get to and park. Very funny we seen Ron Funches. I would recommend
The comedians were funny, food good and affordable. My only issue is the one way out. Heaven forbid some emergency occurs
Bartender was very professional our server Angie did a great job. The bar area had a nice feel and was spacious but the tables in the main room was small. Couldnt put food and drink comfortable buy overall enjoyed everything
The food is a bit overpriced and the service is lacking a bit. That being said, its a great comedy club with a good lineup of folks coming through. Will definitely be back fit more shows.
Was in town for the weekend and my wife and I went to a show here. Great place. Highly recommended.
Great place! Great staff. Steve-0 was hilarious. This was my first time at helium and I will definitely be returning.
Went for NYE show. Had been before and saw an excellent show, so we thought it was a safe bet for an alternative to a party. Quite possibly the worst comedy performance I’ve ever been to. Barely laughed. The two middle comics were decent enough but over all terrible. Drinks very expensive. Beer was fine, but when isn’t beer fine. Mixed drinks made incorrectly. We will go back, but NOT for NYE. huge expensive disappointment
Good vibe, great atmosphere, hard working servers, very chill and laid bac. Comic was hilarious. Definitely will be back.
Nice venue! Their Sunset drink is delicious. High recommend for a great time?
Love the show. I believe the pre-comedy acts were as good as the actual act. A little crowded. Recommend getting there 45 minutes early to get good seats. Actually no bad seat in the house. Not an obvious item prior to going there is a two drink minimum per person/Or two items. Didn’t know they had food we would have eaten there.
It went. Got no stage time. I was sad inside. Im an aspiring comedian. I paid $36 for fries and (2) drinks. My feelings were butt hurt. I will go again. Im addicted to comedy.
Love Helium Comedy Club does County Club Ive been to in Indy then too many shows from Steve-O, Chris Kattan, Nikki Glaser, Shaun Latham as well couple other shows. Staff is usually pretty friendly thats some great seats they will definitely come back to more shows in the future
I have been 3 times, and planning 2 more trips. I love it. The comedians are hilarious. And the employees are great.
Man this place is dope. Ill be back. Tony roberts is the man and made my experience great.
Saw Shuler King!! Was a great show but seating was a bit tight closer to the stage. Dont think the fire marshal has been by.
A group of four of us went to a show in the smaller upstairs room. The upstairs bar and staff was really attentive and friendly. All three comedians were funny—s/o to Isabel Hagen—we were rolling with laughter.
Great food and drinks! Servers and staff very friendly and efficient! Comedians were all HILARIOUS! Cheeks hurt from laughing so much! GREAT time! Jeremy Piven was fantastic! Knew he would be!
GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!!! The Comedians are Hilarious!!! Food & Drinks are great!!! Nice seats everywhere.... We cant wait to go back!! Thank You for everything!! We Loved it!!!
Had a wonderful girls night out watching Schuler King. The opening headliner was funny too. LOVED it.
Great show and good service
Great time. Saw Alex Falcone upstairs, very funny. Had a Jack Hammer. Tasty. The whole place had a good vibe.
Such a fun place
Nicest comedy club in Indy! Classy location and quality entertainers, check Helium first.
Venue is really nice. Showroom nicely designed. Drinks were good and comedy was great. However the food I personally thought missed the mark.
If you are a party of two and order tickets last minute you might as well skip the reserved seats and get there early if able.
Nice little spot in Indy. Full menu and bar. They come to serve you during the show. The waitress and bar tender were very quick and professional.
Lot of fun! Well organized! Great staff! Awesome entertainment! LMAO!
Stage and seating is good. Drinks and service were fine. Didnt try any food this time. Food menu very limited. Prices on mixed drinks a little high but probably comparable for downtown. The only reason I didnt give a 5 star rating is because waiting area and lines to get seated were very disorganized.
Have been here a couple times. Have been to several comedy clubs. This by far is my fav. Strong drinks, cold A/C. And space, plenty of leg room. Don’t keep you packed in like a sardine can. Great Comedy Club!!!
Super dope spot, a real comedy club.
Fun. Good prices. Two drink minimum. Decent food and service.
Yall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I met Drew Lynch. Okay but this review isnt about Drew Lynch so let me tell you why I only gave 4 stars. My experience was awesome and everything ran smoothly and the people were pleasant AF. Awesome place to see a comedy show. But let me tell you about how they decorate: they dont. Even the comedian referred to it as an asylum. Theres nothing up on stage besides a funny guy and a mic. Theres no backdrop, nothing is painted, Im talking a stage and a white wall. IDK..... It was just kind of weird... Im sort of kind of writing this review because I hope they see this and maybe do something because Im definitely going back and I think it would be cool to have something there (like a logo....) Instead if just a plain white wall behind the stage. But anyways.... I love you Drew Lynch️
Lavelle was great
Great comedians. Food is ok. 2 item minimum purchase required.
Good seating and funny comedians but ridiculously priced drinks with a mandatory minimum purchase.
Helium is your trendy upscale comedy joint that brings a ton of big names! We went to see Margaret Cho. Getting in was seamless. The event was sold out, but there was no confusion. They have a bar area you can chill at while you wait for the show. Id advise you to come at least 30 minutes before the show. They offer GA so you have a better chance at a good seat. Please note, they do community seating. If you have a party less than 4 prepare to make new friends! They have a 2 item minimum per person with affordable and tasty options. The show room is super nice with two levels. We were lucky enough to snag a table on the floor. The waitstaff was friendly and fast. The show was hilarious and we are going back soon! Oh and they have a place for pics w the helium backdrop. Super cute!!
Great shows, especially if that Lexy girl is hosting. Not a bad seat in the house.
Great place to see a live comedy show. Each time I have visited the service was good and show was even better.
I truly enjoyed myself and Tony Roberts get 1000 stars..he was so funny!!!!
Had a wonderful time at the comedy show and their tenders were really good.
