Fantastic place to go swimming or fishing. Had many types of fish and plenty of room to go boating. There is an area blocked off specifically for swimming. They have nice shelters and tables you can use and nice bathrooms. I love going up with my family.

Great shade pavilions with fire pit and grassy area to set up. Some shade trees as well. Enclosed dock swimming area for small children. Also floating dock for swimmers. Boat launch and fishing area. We took our paddleboards. Clean, well kept, not crowded.

Well maintained day use area. Perfect for boating, swimming, any water sports. Covered areas for bbq or picnic.

I really love this place! So close to home and always fun! The water is warm once you get used to it. And not too blown out as far as boats. A little busy on the weekend but still enough room if everyone is courteous.

Not a swimmer or a boater. Those were the relaxation Options. I was looking for somewhere By the water to read, relax and enjoy.

Great place to go. They do require $5 CASH only. So fun for the family to sit on the grass. We fish, swim, boat, you name it. I do wish the county would put in some campgrounds here and not close at 10 PM. Crawdad fishing and night fishing would be super fun here.

Only downside was the water approach was a bit Rocky. If Id known ahead of time I would had worn surf shoes or flip flops to get in the water. Not a big issue, but something that future visitors should be aware.

This is nice access to Ririe Reservoir. It wasnt too crowded on a Sunday morning, but the camp host told me that generally Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are very busy!

Wonderful facilities! It has been a few years since we have been up there. Understand why they charge a fee for up keep. Had to wait in line to get into parking lot as it was a tad crowded because of the beautiful day!

Had lots of fun with the kids on the boat. It was very busy though so there water was very choppy and some drivers werent thoughtful or conscientious of others when passing the floating docks near the coves. Still had a great time.

Excellent view. One of the best swim spots Ive been to, but the road to get there is really rough.

Only $5 to park all day. You can fish from the shore, or take a hike. Watch for rattle snakes and blow snakes if you do. No extra fee to launch your boat and spend the day fishing, waterskiing, or camping at sites only accessible by boat. Friendly people working there even helped me launch my boat the first time I had ever been.

Beautiful and very peaceful. Didnt catch anything but my friends had caught 3 or 4 fish earlier in the morning. These pictures were taken around 3pmish. Also heard they were going to stock the lake the first week of May and we will definitely be back again!

Took a fishing boat out on a Tuesday morning, and it was perfect! The picnic areas were all nice and well maintained, and I loved that there were porta potties on a couple of docks throughout the reservoir.

It was my first time being there and my first time ever driving a boat I had a blast.

Good and fun area! Definitely would go back, if fishing isnt your thing it has many areas to just walk and hike around.

Two launches, two parking areas, basic restrooms (no flowing water, just drop-tank style). Beautiful park. $5 parking.Keep in mind one you go down into the park from the gate you will loose cell service.

Very nice and well kept boat ramp. It has a nice beach area. I do hate having to pay the $5 fee to get in. Its not a big deal when you plan on spending a full day there but if you are just running up to fish the last hour of light it seems expensive.

My husband and I come here often to fish. Really easy to get in and out of with a boat and overall a fun place to visit. Their restrooms arent always clean as the ones on the other side of the lake.

We had a big family outing and the place was great. They now have two large boat ramps. They have a $5 dollar car be which is very reasonable.

They really need a sheriff to patrol the people who dont know boating laws

They have really built up and it is very nice! I enjoyed this place very much when we were there and is was SUPER clean.

Had a blast fishing there last weekend! It was my first time in Idaho Falls. My girlfriend caught a fish but the other 2 of us did not... but it was still alot of fun!!! Beautiful reservoir!!

Motorcycle ride ended up here. Did not know about it until I did a map recon of the area for a ride. Looks like a nice place, green grass, shelters, boat docks and water looked great.

Price for a couple hours is steep, if you got a day to waste good times are definitely to be had.

Great place for friends and family. There are shelters, tables, bathrooms and boat docks. Main season is from May through mid-October. Parking cost is $5 per vehicle.

Blacktail is kind of a hidden gem near Idaho falls. I found it by accident one day driving around exploring in the foothills. Its only about 10 miles out of town and is so completely different from anything around it I was blown away. It is definitely large enough to boat or jet-ski, and there are enough small canyons around it that there is also quite a bit of fun hiking and exploring. There is a $5 fee for day use, but for someone who has never been here its absolutely worth it.

I absolutely love this place! It is a great place to fishing or swimming! It is like the Rigby lake for iona! Although... there are a lot of boats so only go swimming in the designated places or off of your boat

Very nice lake side green space. Several pavilions with tables. No potable water so bring drinks. 2 boat launches, floating docks, pit toilets.

Really pretty place until, you encounter the extremely rude and unprofessional staff. They offer no help with where to park your vehicle, the only time they tell you where to park is after they have been difficult and patronizing.

We spend almost every weekend at Blacktail on our boat. Very nice facilities and the lake is very close and convenient to home. Bring dollar bills to pay for day use parking. Ramp crew are friendly and helpful with a battery jump set ready when needed. Limited cell phone coverage unless you boat out to the Ririe side.

It was awesome, nice picnic area with shed available for each group that visits, some.e of them have firepit/BBQ Grill...only thing I didnt like about this place was they only had two bathrooms with semi long lines and quite frankly the lake water was to cold for me to jump in and pea cause the sun was coming in and out of the clouds.

Go hiking here at least 3 times a week in the summer. Love the camp host. Be cautious in late summer for rattlesnakes!

Went sailing without a backup motor, and the reservoir is small enough that if we had to paddle it would have be no big deal. With the afternoon breeze, it was never an issue. The day was great, and the water was warm. Putting the boat in was easy, and the price was unbeatable.

Our favorite place in the summer. Their team is very helpful and friendly. The area is always clean.
