Beautiful. The Park here quickly became one of the favorite date spots for my wife and I when we want to just get out and walk and relax. The place is very clean, great signature spots for pictures or even proposals. From time to time a local musician will be playing on the gazebo or to the side somewhere, and its usually pretty laid back. It is also surrounded by a great pizza place that has good food and staff (a little pricy but worth it along with good service that sometimes even comes out to the park and finds you to place the order and brings it out to you so you dont have to cut your walk short to go get the food. Pretty cool I know.) We love to take our niece and nephew there to feed the ducks its just a fun simple place to be.
Went downtown for date night. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. Nice area to relax and hangout. The water keep the area cool with a lot of trees in the area to give you some shade. Several colorful fish in the water and lots of ducks. We had a blast watching the ducks feed from the bottom of the stream. Nice place to relax. Wasn’t busy and it’s gorgeous.
Such a beautiful park and very clean! The ducks and koi are fun to watch. Theres tons of Christmas trees up so its probably even more amazing after dark. Feels very safe and great for a relaxing stroll
For a restaurant that was not very busy, service was lousy. Our food came out AFTER others that had ordered after us. Must have been because we ordered crispy bacon. The food left much to be desired. I had never visited a Cracker Barrel where the food didnt taste good. The gravy for our biscuits was cold and tasted just like flour, the grits had a strange flavor, and the hashbrowns were over crispy. The coffee, well not the best but it helped keep me awake so I could travel on for 4.5 more hours. But it took 15 mins just to get my to-go cup.
Its changed so much over the years, theyve really made it a beautiful place to visit. Definitely a great place to spend time on a nice day. I have some of the best memories of my life from that park. Big Spring Park is definitely a Huntsville treasure! Wish there was a public bathroom though...
We went to The Tinsel Trail, Decorated Christmas Trees,it was absolutely amazing, I was born and raised in Huntsville and thats the 1st time Id ever seen the magnificent beauty of all the trees decoration!I was oooing and aweing and even teared up taking pics of all the beauty! We had hot cocoa and a delicious hot right outta the fryer beignets Oh how amazing
Fun place to come and feed the fish and ducks. Lots of benches and places to sit. Only complaint is there are no shoppes on the main path to get drinks or snacks. For a downtown place as big as this is they need something other than the Cozy Cow which is closed on Sundays.
What a beautiful spot!! I had a marvelous time wandering around and reading all of the little signs. There are so many ducks and absolutely mammoth gold fish in the river! I could not believe how clean and well kept this park was. I cannot recommend it enough! If you are in the area, stop thinking about where to go and go here!
I had a wonderful time there walking around the duck pond and looking at the Christmas trees all decorated it was really nice
Absolutely beautiful! It is also a wonderful place to walk your dog.
Its just breath taking. The flowing water, ducks, and constant visitors. A true testament in this city. It has just a few little bistros, and a wonderful art museum. Its great for a little walk, or a wonderful date night. Down side, not many places to find a restroom.
The park was once bigger and had more natural feel. Now giant white walkways take up most of the area. Almost all trees are gone and it feels sterile, blank, empty atmosphere. The art museum dominates part of it, ducks no longer have a place to gather away from people. The east side of park is improved by bridge to cross water, waterfalls and steps down to water. I hoped for more of a park and less concrete. Tinsel trail in East park is pretty at Christmas.
Its gotten a lot smaller and a lot more concrete but loved the tinsel trail.
Love this area. Wonderful place to spend alone time or with family. Clean and beautiful
I go there before i have my chemo treatment nearly every single time. I wish they did better at keeping the bird droppings picked up cause the smell is terrible especially ib the tunnel. But for the most part it is beautiful and the water features are just outstanding.
Lots of ducks. Lots of fish. Several homeless people asking for money. It was alright. If the museum was open and you were having a picnic that would be nice I imagine. Better to go to a real nature spot I think
This is a great place to take the family to enjoy the ducks and koi fish. This place also has a lot of history to it and I was surprised that the spring flows 7-20 million gallons of water a day.
Great day with the grandkids feeding the ducks and fish!!
Awesome place to take photos.
It is beautiful here and the sidewalks are perfect for watching ducks and giant koi fish.
History and cool water on a warm day. Good combination.
I love walking in the park. I love the ducks and I like watching the fish.
A nice place to walk with easy access to a lot of good places to eat and drink. The park hasnt really been the same since they did all the construction and took out most of the nature that made it nice. They need more enforcement on the city leash policies and really crack down on the degenerate dog owners who let their animals run rampant.
Big park lots of things to do with the family
A great open area. I wish Huntsville has more areas like it throughout the city
Loved it, it was awesome. Walk way goes to places to eat, you can feed the ducks and fish. The pond is clean and friendly. We loved it!!
Nice place to go to look at the fish and ducks as u walk around my son loves going just as much as my bbn hubby and I
Such a gorgeous park and great family place.
Nice place love the fishies in the stream would be nice if it was cooler and there wasnt so many smokers.
Beautiful area with different things to do, and events going on all the time. Great place to take the family.
I love walking around there with my family.
Great place to hang out, have a lunch, and take some pics
Great leisure park to walk in the evenings. Bring quarters so you can feed the fish and ducks, we had a great time with the family. There are also easy bike rentals to explore on.
It is a mid-city park and you pretty much know you are mid-city the whole time but it is pretty nice as the trails are easy to access and paved. The spring is a fountain and has many koi fish around and many ducks which are all very pretty. There is some moss and ferns on the spring area which is a nice touch of nature. There was an art exhibit of giant rabbits while we were there
Clean, beautiful, and relaxing place to walk around, have a picnic, or people watch.
A great city park with a big pond that has ducks
Always a beautiful place to take a walk, but the Tinsel Trail is happening for the Christmas season. Check out the many decorated trees.
One of my favorite family outdoor areas in Huntsville
Big Spring Park is like...the best thing Huntsville has to offer. I have so many memories of growing up in HSV and visiting BSP. The park with the spring, canal, and steps from the square is my favorite side. Ample amounts of shade and if you grab a bench you can watch the people, the ducks, the koi, the musicians, the clouds, etc.
Excellent park with natural creek that runs through downtown Huntsville
Beautifully decorated large display of Christmas Trees sponsored by local businesses. Such a spectacular scene. A must to go at night when they are lit up. Would be a fun family evening outing, bundle up and take some hot chocolate. Magical!
Nice improvements on the landscaping. No public restrooms. On hot days, one need to drink plenty of water.
Full Huntsville beauty and charm. There might be only a handful of places on the planet so peaceful and friendly.
Park is a well maintained. You can buy food to feed the fish and ducks.
Big spring is gorgeous and free! I love getting to come here with friends to feed the ducks and with my family for the food truck battles in the summer. Its my favorite get away spot.
Fantastic open spaces, flowing water, ducks, and shading trees make this an excellent oasis right next to downtown
Nice place to take family or date night.
Rent a bike to ride for 1.00, pond water is clear with no smell, great place for kids and an art museum. Wine and pizza restaurant(romantic). Great place to jog with baby stroller and wife early morning. Grass is alwats cut.
Wonderful open area to visit with family and friends. Great for open air events and music. This was the 2019 Hispanic Festival.
A beautiful, clean, peaceful family friendly park in the heart of Huntsville that often has free, live entertainment for all ages.
Clean park with beautiful trails; stocked with koi and ducks and geese, too. Fish food stations, fountains, and large shade trees, too.
Its so big and beautiful
Beautiful little park right in the middle of downtown. Tinsel trail is a must see at christmas time. The koi and wildlife never disappoint year round. One of our favorite parks as a family
This place come alive during Xmas. Love it
Great Park for a stroll or dog walk! Loved all the water features.
Nice park. Good place to meet friends and social distance
This place always brings me back to childhood. Some of my earliest memories are here; feeding the ducks and fish. Now I bring my son and we do the same.
The most beautiful site in Huntsville..
We loved feeding the ducks!
Beautiful park downtown. Well worth the short walk around the lake and by the spring.
Really awesome place to hang out. Even when the hippies are there.
Nice walking park, cool ducks and koi - with food to feed them
Small green space in the downtown area..nice waterfall garden area with large fish & a few ducks. On a Sunday afternoon, just exploring the area...very quiet & peaceful.
It is a wonderful place to go see the trees in memorabilia of all the ones thats lost their lives. And thank you to all the ones that spent your time decorating and putting up the trees.. God bless you all and, Merry Christmas!
Great time Jazz in the Park Series. Was crowded but not as crowded as last year. Great music and set up.
All of the holiday trees were different and beautiful as well as meaningful
Located near downtown Huntsville, historically significant Big Spring still flows and the surrounding park is a great green space in which to spend time. Add in special free events like the annual Tinsel Trail for the Christmas season or Jazz in the Park during the fall and this spring and park are a jewel in the crown of this wonderful city!
Big spring park is beautiful and a great place to spend the afternoon. My kids love watching and feeding the ducks and fish. They also have fun activities throughout the year.
Beautiful open space area, with a nice natural spring and kois & carps in downtown.
Very beautiful park so peaceful
Absolutely beautiful! Come here to run, sit, eat, drink, relax. Theres plenty to see and do for everyone. Its the best of Huntsville!
Beautiful anytime but the tinsle trail was spectacular
Beautiful park, great location, and always something entertaining going on!
Friend got married there. Beautiful
I think Big Spring Park is definitely one of my favorite places to visit on a nice sunny day. You can grab a coffee at a nearby coffee shop and walk around the park or sit and enjoy the nice views. Lots of people run or bike around the park too. Dont forget to bring quarters to feed the fish! Pretty, safe to visit. Walk, eat and feed the ducks. Any time of day or night. Also, great place for kids to hide and hunt painted rocks.
Such a beautiful event! Will come back every year
Great family park and a place to relax and enjoy.
In a word.... Beautiful!! There is so much to see. I love the coy fish and ducks. Perfect for any weather.
Always love walking through the park.
Beautiful place to visit in the evening!
Went here for the Christmas tree village. Its always great. We visit the park during other times of year and its always really nice.
Not too hilly for wheelchair. Not sure about restroom. Never needed to go while there. Christmas Tree display was awesome. Almost too much to look at. Family friendly. Children should all love it. Lots of familiar characters on display. No cost to attend. I believe the East Park area open till 10:00 PM. Just a few days left, hurry !
Great place to hang out have a wedding or feed some ducks
Tinsel Trail is a fun, free family friendly walk in the park, especially at night when the trees are all illuminated. Its one of those Huntsville holiday traditions you cant pass up.
This is what a city should look like
Great for walking, biking, or just family time. You stop at the Italian bistro when there. Never a disappointment.
Just got a little fresh air and ice cream today!
Beautiful Park with a lot of beautiful scenery!
Gets better every year! Would be 5 stars only one flaw we encountered. But I figured out economic salutation. Thanks Huntsville
The tinsel trail of spo sponsored Xmas trees was really nice. Ice skating in the park was pretty cool.
This was the first year we actually got to go and the trees are absolutely beautiful and so much hard work was put into the decorations!
Beautiful park. I went to the Unity Rally
Theyve always got things going on here. Big and spacious, clean. Nice place to visit to just sit and hang out or walk around and see what happens to be going on that particular day.
