Elevators need to get modernized. Other than that, it is a decent place.

Historic Hotel repurposed yet retains its charm of the past.

I never lived here personally just been a few times. It is a community for older people, one of the nice ones I have seen in the area. There is a security code for entering the building. Seems to be a quiet place. Parking for residents is across the street but not to far from the building. It is a good location from everything one would like to do in town. I would recommend it for the elderly

Ive lived here almost 5 years and it has constantly went downhill every year. Things get broken and never get fixed. In the gym the equipment is beyond repair. It never gets replaced. We had a pool table that the residents could use and it was taken out for some reason. Our back door was broken about 5 years ago and it has never been fixed. You can get out but you cant get back in. One of our elevators is down almost constantly and when it gets repaired it will be out before the day is over and that is no exaggeration. The elevator service has recommended that we replace the elevator but it will not be done. Every time the other elevator goes down elderly people cannot get up and down the steps. One of our bigger complaint is that our parking lot is full during the weekdays because people are allowed to use our parking lot. People Park on our lot and they walk over to the bank and stay half a day. We need our parking places and many days it is completely full. We have a maintenance man but he only works half a day because the owner is afraid it will cost him too much money. We have a janitorial service that works only 3 hours a day. I could go on but for the time being I will stop for now. If something isnt done soon then we will go to one of the TV channels and I know they would love to hear about it.

I got an email from management on may 6 2019 stating that im the waiting list as #1 have not received any other email or phone call from her and is going to almost a month. i will like to know my status. thank youiris alemany

I am a resident here at The Russel Erskine Apts. Ive been living here for 1yr & 9mos. This building was originally a Hotel that was built in the 30 & was THE place to go in its day. Very ritzy, upscale Hotel! My parents spent their honeymoon here. Im sure my mother was in heaven!At some point over the years the bldg was renovated & is an Apt building now. You can still see some of the original Hotel in areas like the lobby, ballroom, what was the front desk. I do love my apt, & have met some good people here. It is HUD subsidized housing now, which is a good thing for seniors like me who live on a fixed income.I realize that living in an Apt Bldg that houses 65+ people there are going to be some issues. Not everyone has the same standards in cleaning. Were all different in our beliefs, religion or politics. For the most part everyone gets along, & we can have the privacy of our own apt. as well as mingle in common areas for visiting. My biggest concern is not enough cleaning in the common areas, such as the entrance, lobby, laundry room, break room, library, & the garbage closets on each floor. We dont have a regular cleaning crew. That coupled with the 65+ people coming & going, tossing garbage into the cans of each floors garbage closets can cause an unclean property.We also have a private parking lot with a small gathering spot. Several benches, picnic tables. This area is private but also on a public street & there isnt a regular crew to clean up. That coupled with the people who are walking their dogs thru here & even though there is a city ordinance against it, DONT pick up & dispose of their dogs waste!So my review is: Im grateful to be able to make my home here in downtown Huntsville. The city has finally been able to grow this area & there are lots of activities now. I can only rate the Russell Erskine Apts with a 3 of 5, strictly due to the cleaning crew issue.

Our management is one of the best. They do all they can to keep people playing by the rules. You have to realize that not everyone is playing with a full deck but its a good place to live.

Very attentive management. This place is an apartment building. Very clean. Very well managed.
