Its a nice place comfortable cool no complaints
Great big open spaces and good for pokemon go
So sad to see how this once beautiful, lively and festive place is now depleted, water drained out of its fountains. I remember coming here as a kid to the Childrens Festivals they would have and the Art Festivals. It WAS a nice place... Id like to see it up and running again some day in The near future.
Good park to have fun with family and friends or a picnic enjoying the weather. And its a good historical place for the Apollo 11when1969 Their at the tranquility park. I like the water views it for they are so beautiful. Come out here and see for your self how beautiful tranquillity park is.. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Water drained out of the fountains and homeless have taken over. Way to go Houston, your really saving the world from Covid.
Not good environment right now
I come sit at this park durning lunch pretty regularly. The landscaping is usually pretty well maintained and it is clean but it isn’t anything to write home about. It is clearly underfunded or has been forgotten because the fountain areas are all empty and clearly not operational. There is always left over rain water that has started growing algae but that’s clearly not how it was intended. There are always a few sketchy homeless people talking to themselves and those who pass by but that’s pretty normal anywhere downtown. With discovery green only a few blocks away it’s no wonder this park is usually pretty empty.
Love it and will not mind going back again and then some. Also with my family members and wife and kids.
Nice place to walk.
I like tranquility park alot. I like the whole area of this place and all along the buffalo bayou. This place is great and is for everyone.Even though Hurricane Harvey did what it did the city shall do what it has to to take care of it and to make sure it stays nice and beautiful. The young and old can enjoy everything from walks to jogging and bike riding. Many walk their pets... I used to work temporarily for the buffalo bayou partnership as a temp worker from Pacesetter and many of us went to clean up after Harvey. In all that I really enjoyed the work and loved the riding around looking for areas to clean up.Many of us never forget the scenes all along the tranquility park and beyond. The trees, hilly side walks, and really friendly people everywhere who waved at us and just smiled while we from pace waved back.Lots of birds, butterflies, a rabbit also, and more. You just never know on a very nice morning or early evening what you might see...Thank God for places like this among all the other parks.
Great place so far. As the name describes. Tranquility peace be here. Its been good so far. Has a drinking fountain lights & is located near light rail & bus stop. Calm downtown experience. Im beginning to like Huston tx.
Gorgeous scenery day or night. Parking can be a challenge but not impossible. A must see area if you are strolling around downtown Houston.
Need to re install all water and
Beautiful downtown park. Peaceful and quiet. Good for the kids, too!
Beautiful place to take walks, have picnics, walk your dog, meet up friends and what have you. Not that I spent much time there though... It was such a beautiful place that I just had to drop a review! Tell me what you think when you visit as I am sure the experience of one person is not equal to the experience of everyone. Cheers!
The park has 2 issues, one like most of houston mushrooms grow here periodically. And the park is too small, for how popular it is.
As a drifter it was awesome quite place to stop and rest but have you stuff packed by morning.
Downtown Houston has so many wonderful things to see and experience.
Very quiet!
I walked by the Latin Fest which was held in Tranquility Park yesterday. There was a huge line of people waiting to get in. They apparently reached the maximum amount of people, and the ones in line were having to wait for someone to leave before they could enter. The music was lively and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves.
Nice and quiet
When I lived in downtown I used to come here pretty often, but closer to the end of my lease I started to come here less and less because the homeless people problem got completely out of hand. I wish it was maintained a bit better in that sense.
This is a good place to walk or just hang out. With water features and sculpted designs on the walkways it is just as the name says: a tranquil place. Somewhat shielded from the surrounding roads by being below street level it is a bit of an oasis in downtown Houston.
Such a beautiful place in the big city
Clean and quiet area for a picnic.
Well maintained. Clean. Restrooms available. Activities for the family.
In work zone
Great skateboarding history. Sad they skate stopped most of the park allowing it be over ran by homeless people. Sad the city would rather have feces all over the park than a few scratched rails
Small Nice park to bring your family, friends or pets to have a relaxing time. More so, there is NASA Apollo Mission history on the pavements in some parts of the park if you explore towards the center of the park and more.
Cool place to visit / walk by anytime of the day.
Tranquility Park is a good place to be, a safe haven for the homeless and its a safe place, right next to City Hall and its always being policed by the horse cops so its a good place to be. A safe place to be if you want to relax.
Small but beautiful park
Very nice urban park with some interesting architecture. I loved the plaque dedicated to the Moon landing.
Park devoted to Moon landing picnic tables porta potty
I was actually at the crossway/bridge across the street. It is a Houston area of interest that would have great appeal if it was maintained properly. But, it is just drab with a host of pigeons ️
Today on Veterans Day it was awesome! Kudos to all that planned, organized, supported and participated! First VD parade Ive ever gone too, all the floats, bands, marchers and crowd made me happy, honored and proud to be an armed forces veteran. Well done!
The Tranquility Park is true to its name. It is beautiful. Its downtown so once you fight through traffic to get to parking itll totally be worth it. During the summer its ridiculously hot. The ideal time to get the most out of park is to go during the end of the summer and throughout the fall and winter. Its also a walking distance from the station which is super convenient as well.
Fix the gd fountain. Its supposed to honor the Challenger crew. Mayor Anus Porker spent 2 million on city halls crummy fountain across the street so she could watch it from the window eating chili dogs all day on the peoples tab.
Good wings today. Kudos to the staff
Nice park
This is a calm little place in the bustling downtown area where you can take a breath and dive into some space odyssey with Neil Armstrongs footprint!
Quiet peaceful park with many upscale features.
It was wonderful!! Went kayaking in the little pond, totally unplanned however was so much fun.
Beautiful, but too many homeless and shady places.
Love the handrails!
I like it really nice people out in the street
It was great for the veterans. I wish everyone will come out and support our veterans to let them know that they are highly appreciated and we are thankful for the change they made for our country. Thank You. Veterans!!
I love this place. The water fountain is really relaxing. Although its not their fault but downtown are wherever you go you have to pay Hefty amount for parking. Which sucks but other than that
Pretty park, needs the water working. Very cleanQuiet place in the middle of town
I came here to do a shoot and its the second time the water was turned off. Besides that is a pretty cool place to hangout.
They have canoeing and mini boat races, as well as fun and interactive art
Honors our greatest human adventure!
Lovely park in the heart of downtown.
It has been about 5 years I last visited and a lot had changed. Its like the citys budget has run dry and literally the turned off the water in the park. There are no pools, fountains, or waterfalls left. Instead, the park has homeless people sleeping on benches and in gray areas. Typical of a democrat-managed city.
Great park.like the name says it is tranquil and safe to sit and relax
Beautiful park, when its not too crowded. I love taking walks from time to time here in the sunny, clear skies. This park has very fond memories with me and its something I come back to from time to time. Its clean, the architecture is good, and its pretty. What more could you ask for?
I wish there would have been a little bit more to this park. It seems as if the funding may have decreased. For example, there is a area where you would expect maybe some water or anything but it just looked unkept.
This is a great place to take a breather and enjoy a nice cool beverage.
Great downtown space, especially when they have the fountains on.
Park was pretty nice, there was alot of garbage and the artsy walls needed pressure washing. But other than that it was nice
I went here to go check it out cause its in one of my fave movies of all time. Not at all what I expected. Its become a homeless hangout and the city has not taken care of it at all. So so sad cause it could be so beautiful. Like it once was.
There for an event. Not well planned.
Pretty much the only place downtown where I could bring my dogs. We stayed at the Magnolia hotel about a 1/2 mile away.
Always a place to unwind and remember the goodness of the Lord nature at its best
It was nice. Beautiful and great photo op
Nothing much. A small park if you want some tranquility
In the heart of downtown. Really cool on the evenings when they have live bands. Nice place to hang out after work until Houstons rush hour traffic dies down.
Such a gorgeous park. Very serene for being in such a busy location!
Wheres the water .. would be more enjoyable if theyd have it filled...other than that nice park
It was pretty awesome! Happy Pride Houston.
Cool park. I wish the fountains were maintained better.
Serenity and peace of mind to keep everything in your head feeling free relaxes your mind body and spirit
Great area for family gatherings. Kid friendly and lots of shad tree. Very clean area with benches for sitting.
Under Rusk Street in between Tranquility & the Smaller Tranquility Park there are 2 beautiful cats one is black and the other is Torteshell so pretty. My kitten once was carried across the park. The other two times wandered off by himself and once was taken to the park but each time. My Litty found his way back to the walkway above Rusk st. Walking to a friend that was always there. I have had a lot of great friends at tranquility park.
Fountain needs your help; help the fountain; help the fountain bring tranquility;
Very nice view of Houston from here!
Well manicured lawn, trees, landscaping. Clean and well kept. Water wall is pretty cool. Had low expectations, looking for somewhere unique to take out of town guests. Spent half hour walking and enjoying the large, encompassing sound inside the fountain. Worth a one-time visit if in the area.
Nice place to go read a book. Early morning or afternoon in the summer months.
Nice place for picnic.
Great place to visit while on vacation!
Beautiful park!!
Come on by and take your picture with one of the many homeless people who have setup shop in the park. Bring the kids!
