This place is awesome. Space history at its finest. The Saturn 5 rocket is the stuff of legend. Whats so interesting is that when you visit, you hear different people talking languages from all over the world. Thats how much NASA meant to the world and for them to see the Apollo rockets up close is just awe inspiring. I do plan on returning.
I love going here. This is an engineering marvel. There are always very helpful employees to explain how the space craft worked and how the moon landing happened. It is quite inspirational to people of all ages. And in addition to all the it is totally Free! Just drive up to the main gate and ask to go to rocket park, they will direct you in.
Very interesting. Saturn V is a must. You can see how small yet how big we are, standing next to it.
Amazing place, extremely interesting and the tour was great too.
When I was 9, my dad bought me a Saturn 5 rocket model. It was taller than I was. Now seeing it in real life, brought back those wonderful memories that made me want to be an astronaut. Well as my life winds down to its inevitable end, I still look up at the stars and realize that with my debilitating acrophobia and claustrophobia... I never would’ve made it past the first screening... lol!!
Lovely experience. Couldnt be better to see a working rocket over 360 feet long that can take off when needed.
Rocket park was an amazing experience, and I had the pleasure to be able to listen to Norman Chaffee, one of the engineers of the SaturnV rocket, explain to us the many different parts. In the actual building there is in depth information about the rocket, and it is kept at a comfortable temperature. This would be a great place to take your kids to spark an interesting of space and science. If you get tired there are also many benches lining the walls.
Our family loved it!! Part of the NASA tour. Be sure to upgrade your admission ticket to a membership- just a couple extra bucks and skip the hours long line!
Really enjoyed getting to not only read all the documentation but see all the history that Rocket Park had to offer. Just Amazing.
This is the second stop on the tram tour after visiting the historic mission control or astronaut training facility. It is so cool to see the Saturn V rocket and the information on the Apollo missions. At the back of the building, there is a small cattle ranch across the road, where you can see a couple of Texas longhorns. The contrast between cattle and space shuttle is interesting and very Texan.
Amazing too see real rockets in real life. I loved it. Also details about the Apollo missions inside
Amazing place!!! Even if you do not know much about NASA and their missions to space, come to see the immense size of this rocket. It truly is a grand example of what man has invented on this Earth. Tours are provided if you are interested in taking one. I can not wait to return to this place again one day.
A top highlight of my trip to Houston. The REAL Saturn 5 rocket is AMAZING
Let me just say, you truly dont understand the size of this magnificent rocket until youve been in this room next to it! My breath was literally taken away from me because of this machine! If you find yourself in Houston and youre a space fan, do yourself the biggest favor and find your way here, you wont regret it! To this day, its one of my favorite places Ive ever visited!
Rocket park is amazing and a must go to if you are in Houston. It has 3 awesome rockets. First at over 300 feet is an actual Saturn V moon rocket that never flew. Also you can see the Redstone rocket with mercury capsule. This is the rocket and spacecraft that launched the first American into space. The also have numerous rocket engines and lots and lots of information to learn about! Please stop by and get a tasted of Human Space Flight history!
Great fun! I suggest purchasing the Houston City Pass. We purchased the lunch with an astronaut which is an extra fee added to your admission but well worth it. If you purchase the city pass and decide to do the lunch be sure and visit the Space Center of Houston first (not because its the best out of all of the items on the pass. It just works out better from a budget perspective). A lot of things to do see and enjoy! #houstoncitypass
Awesome! Very interesting, recommended for all ages and so many information!! Take time to read and be ready for amazing pictures!
THE Saturn V Rocket! The mother of heavy lift vehicles. Very well done.
That’s what I called a rocket scientist and love that place with a big rocket ship.
The size of the Saturn Vue is astounding!
Loved it full of information in the space rockets! And to get so close to a real rocket us something else makes you appreciate the amount of technology!
This place is actually called Space Center Houston, and it is part of the Johnson Space Center, which is a NASA facility. It was absolutely fantastic!!! If you are in the Houston area, this is a MUST SEE attraction. Plan on spending a full day at least seeing this! Words alone can not describe how truly awesome this place is, and I cant recommend it highly enough. Id give it 10 stars if I could.
Such a cool experience seeing a Saturn V rocket in person. The informative plaques really give you a good background of the rocket itself as well as the many Apollo missions that used Saturn Vs to push the next step in human exploration. Highly recommend taking the tram tour to see this marvel.
Free to enter. Free parking. The park has the Saturn 5 rocket (Mission to the moon). Unfortunately, the building is small compared to the rocket so getting a good photo of the entire rocket is near impossible.
Very good place and very interesting facts
I really enjoyed going inside and learning about each apollo mission
Fantastic day and park well worth it
Great indoor display of the Saturn V Rocket.
Gives deep understanding of saturn 5 rocket
Wonderful part of the nasa tour! You can also join multiple mini-tours to farther nasa buildings which I recommend.
Educationally and interesting experience. The wait time for the tram taking us back to the Space Center was however very, very long. I am convinced the worlds most technologically advanced organization can find a way to optimize that process.
A lot of history, learning, and interactive place to visit with family. There are rides to the park. To avoid long waits (up to 2 hours!), arrive early! 10 oclock is ideal. Enjoy
My favourite park.
Nice place! You get to see one of the saturn 5!
IS THERE NO OTHER WAY?Excellent to see the Saturn V but not enough time. Only way to see it is via the tram tour and we were only given 15 minutes to see the Saturn V, rocket garden and try and read all the info on the inside wall. My wife said it takes longer to read the info than the allocated time given to view everything!!! Is there no other way to do this??? Ive travelled halfway around the world (New Zealand) to show the Saturn V to my son and got 15 minutes. We took a flight to KSC too see that one as it is part of the general tour and unlimited time to view. This needs to be resolved.
Visit NASA was a great experience in my life. Wonderful place to visit!
Nice place to visit with your kids. Fun & educational. One of the best places to visit around the Houston area. This place is part of Space Center Houston, this hangar features a restored Saturn V & accompanying exhibits.
One of the must see attractions while visiting NASA. Full size rockets with details descriptions. Able to observe real employees working lives while touring the area.
Looks bed my experience here. I could have spent two days here if I had the time. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Houston
Thats the thing youre here for. Everythings perfect, save for the fact the building is pretty cramped, so you wont get very good angles for taking pictures. Its almost a mirror of the Kennedy space center rocket exhibit.
Amazing to go and see if your interested in space/nasa
It is amazing. And the rockets there are even more so. You have to watch it for yourself to know the magnitute of wow.
Its a amazing to see what mankind created... to look at the actual equipment, the ultra complex space shuttle, the technology used so far back when computers were slow and limited, it all seems unbelievable.
Holy moly this was huge! Sooo cool and highly recommend seeing this.
Liked everything about it and the grand kids had a blast.
The Rocket Park car park is not accessible to regular visitors anymore. The guard very kindly explained to us that too many people were hopping on the tram tour from there and basically abusing the system. If you can justify an official business on the NASA campus, such as visiting a NASA employee, go for it.In all other cases...No more visiting the rockets at your own pace and for free, you have to use the official (expensive) tram tour that starts at Space Center Houston nearby.
We had such a great time and learned so much. It was fourth of July weekend, so it was pretty packed. Lines were very slow, but overall a great experience.
Engineering marvel at its best
When as a chaperone yesterday I enjoy it just as much as the kids. The train tour was awesome!!
A must see if the Saturn 5 ticket that tenured the first people that walked on the moon, Apollo 11. Seeing the massive ticket is breathtaking and worth the drop off to rocket Park. Youll only need about 20 minutes to take on the whole exhibit v
Very nice, especially for the kids. You can see a real rocket
This is an attractive tourist attraction.
Very nice. Must visit
Superb Saturn rocket will amaze you.
Im not into astronauts and space travel but this place was awesome! Informative, educational and exciting. I had no idea how much technology and work went into our space exploration and travel! We were way ahead of our times! Worth checking out even for those with little interest like myself. You will be suprised!
Friggin awesome rockets, go check it out.
There is a newer part that is handicapped accessible and has swings and is easy for younger children. But the amazing part is the old school equipment. A Saturn, a submarine, a radio tower, and old school death trap rockets ( welded shut). It is a retro photographer or film dream. It also sport a pair of space shuttle springs prefect for photos for Houston tourists or space birthday photos! It is conveniently across from library and baseball fields. There is picnic table and side parking.
I just wanted to see the Saturn V rocket. I didnt want to wait in the tram line for 90 minutes. Turns out you just leave the museum, go through the gate for the Space Center and they will direct you to turn left and park right next to the building. Easy.
For enthusiasts of our nations space program, the Johnson space center easily ranks with Kennedy in Florida
Amazing what the man can achieve. very educational and rock
Thees a Saturn V on display. And, oh yeah, two others.
The most exciting part of the space center in my mind. No models, real rockets and even the Saturn 5. It is an amazing accomplishment, real rocket science. A place where history was made.
Would have been better if it was open!
Revised from 5 stars as this is no longer open to the public! - the only way to see this now is as part of paid entry to Space Center Houston. Awesome and inspiring seeing the Saturn V up close and in person!
Go see the Saturn V rocket inside. It is life changing.
Was here as part of the NASA Space Center tour.
See the absolutely massive Saturn V rocket in all its glory - larger than the statue of liberty!
If youre a serious space fan visiting Houston Space Center DO NOT miss rocket park! Seeing a Saturn V in person is amazing!
The size of that rocket when you walk through the door will make you gasp well worth the visit
Out of town visitors are always impressed, and its free!
Love the rockets. So cool to see history.
Impressive. Really impressive. Thats a lot of rocket for a comparably small capsule. Good information along the sides of the building and rocket.
Definitely one of the beat parts of the johnson space center. Very impressive and explanations about the rocket, its missions and its evolution. They have it compared as well with the new Orion mission rockets as well.
Loved viewing this real rocket. Very exciting for our family.
Always one of my favorite spots to take family and friends to. they change it up frequently enough that it has new things yearly to make it interesting for our family still.the tram tour is a must do (even if there is a wait)
Free tour you can (and should) go on as part of your visit for the JSC.
Wow! I had seen footage of these things launching before, but wow, when you walk along side of it, it all seems so much more real. That was awesome!
Love to visit here! Every time we have people from out of town, we take them here. Everyone has truly enjoyed it!
It is awesome. If you love space and rockets you should definitely make the stop in here. Get on the trams first thing because the lines are long.
You can looking on Saturn 5. It amazing.
This really is a great destination for people of all ages. The park itself is filled with information and stories that give a good summary of the United States Space Program. Most of the employees are knowledgeable and the facilities are all great.
If you havent seen the Saturn V rocket here, you are missing an essential part of Houston and space history. Fully refurbished, enclosed, and well documented, be sure you see this important engineering artifact whether you are visiting NASA or just driving by.
Fantastic place to see the awesome Saturn 5. You can visit here for free. Just go to the NASA main gate and tell you want to visit Rocket Park. No need to visit go to the visitor center unless you like lots of kids stuff and crowds. Parking is free too.
Great facility! Its behind the employee gate of NASA Johnson Space Center, but if you drive up to the main entrance, just let the guards know youre going to Rocket Park and they will let you through. This is one of the only 3 remaining Saturn V Rockets and the display is nice. The others are at NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and NASA Marshal Space Flight Center (MSFC). Take the family and enjoy :)
Free to visitStay as long as you likeSee real rockets and learn about space history
Enjoyed well..Luck to visit the place
Amazing to see the Saturn V in real life!
The history is amazing. To see what we as humans can do when we work together is beautiful.
Absolutely stunning. Really puts some things into perspective for you.
We spent a great day here with whole family. Very interesting.
To see one of the actual rockets that took our astronauts to the Moon when I was a kid was amazing. My experience was a sense of pride.
One of the best feeling I had in my life. Rocket Park is a must visit place and it’s free if you just want to visit rocket park not the whole NASA museum.
Verry neat. This was my second trip to this park and it is still aw inspiring and cool to learn about our nations history.
This exhibit is free and open to the public. Although it is included as part of the tram tour from Space Center Houston, which has much more to see, paying admission is not necessary for those who are only interested is visiting the Saturn IV rocket exhibit (which was by far my favorite part of the day!)
Always love to see this.
It was so much fun I would definitely go again
Unique, marvelous place
This is a way nicer building on the inside than it looks on the outside. Very neat to see the Saturn Rocket. Lots of reading material on the different Apollo missions. Hard to photograph the rocket in its entirety. Definitely makes you proud to be an American and is incredible to think of all the science, physics and engineering that went into it.
